The group heading to a hot spring inn stay arrived at Kitayuzawa, where they stopped at a convenience store to secure onigiri for lunch. However, upon arrival at the Kita Yuzawa Mori no Soraniwa, they discovered that the lunch service was not available. They checked with the front desk, and even the neighboring hotel, Midori no Kaze Resort, did not offer lunch. Feeling hopeless, the front desk staff provided a map with nearby lunch options. They found a place called Yamasemi, a dining area of the Oyado Kawasemi, just across the road. Luckily, it was open and they decided to try it. They ordered the hegi soba, which came with soba, onigiri, and pickles. The homemade taste of the onigiri and pickles was delightful. The hegi soba, reminiscent of a place in Sapporo, was unexpectedly delicious. The soba had a good texture and was dipped lightly in the broth before eating. The meal cost 600 yen, which was reasonable for a tourist hot spring area. Overall, they found the lunch spot to be a valuable find in the Kita Yuzawa area and would definitely return if they were in the area again on a weekend.
