I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while now. I saw a review of it on Instagram and decided to go when I had the chance. The restaurant is located near Tsutenkaku Tower, with a retro Showa-era style. There was a short wait outside, but once inside, the atmosphere was cozy and nostalgic. I ordered the Thick Cutlet Curry Stew set, which was delicious. The thick cutlet was cooked perfectly and the curry sauce had a nice spice to it. I also enjoyed the pickles that came with the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and I left feeling full and ready for the rest of my day.

Visited after 12 o'clock. There are 3 counter seats and 3 tables at the restaurant. There was one group of customers already there. Located in Ebisucho, a neighborhood in Osaka known for its unique characteristics, this restaurant has an atmosphere that matches the area. However, the food served here is of top quality in Japan. Whether there is a contrast or a perfect match between the atmosphere and the food may vary depending on the visitor. Ordered the popular pork cutlet sandwich and iced coffee, which cost 2100 yen plus 500 yen. The soup and iced coffee arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. The pork cutlet sandwich was served around 8 minutes later. The price of 2100 yen for a beef cutlet sandwich may seem high depending on the region, but after tasting it, it felt like a bargain. The combination of crispy and rare parts of the meat, along with the delicious bread, was amazing. This restaurant offers authentic, high-quality cuisine backed by real culinary skills, unlike the theme park-like attractions near Tsutenkaku. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. This is a restaurant that should be visited before it receives recognition in international guidebooks.

I came to Ebisu Station on the subway and could see Tsutenkaku, but I've never climbed it before. Around 12:55, there were two people waiting in front of me, they must be in the top 5000? I was seated at a table in the back in about 15 minutes and chose the Mexican mince. They asked if I wanted rice or bread (which cost extra). I ordered the recommended half-size cutlet sandwich. Onion soup was served in about 6 minutes, and it was tasty with a salty flavor. The cutlet sandwich arrived in about 15 minutes, the meat was tender but lacked flavor, so it was just okay. The Mexican mince arrived in about 11 minutes, also tender but lacking in flavor, so I added some salt to make it better. I paid 2850 yen with a card. I shared a rental cycle and headed north.

I visited the restaurant simply because I wanted to eat Western food, and I was guided to a seat where I noticed a menu item called "Mexican Minchi" - a hamburger with white sauce instead of demiglace sauce, making a comeback after 40 years as a limited-time menu for the past three months. Without hesitation, I ordered it. After a short wait, the hamburger arrived with white sauce drizzled on top. I imagined it would taste like cream stew, but it was a bit different. The flavor was light and gentle, not overpowering the delicious minced meat of the hamburger. It's hard to describe, but it was simply delicious, even though it wasn't demiglace sauce. I felt like I had to go back and eat it again during this limited-time period. When I asked the owner's wife, she explained that the dish used to be a regular menu item during the time of the previous generations, but it eventually disappeared. Neither the previous owner nor the owner before him knew why it was called Mexican Minchi or the exact recipe, as they both passed away without passing on that information. However, the current owner remembered his grandfather's recipe, recreated it, and brought it back as a limited-time item. Perhaps if the demand increases, it could make a full comeback? Try the Mexican Minchi, a dish that has made a comeback after 40 years.

In Naniwa-ku, Osaka, there is a long-established Western-style restaurant called "Grill Bon‼️". This time, I ordered the recommended Hamburger Cutlet Curry Stew with rice. The tender hamburger cutlet goes well with the curry, which is closer to demi-glace in flavor. The retro interior of the restaurant, with both table and counter seats, makes it easy for solo diners to visit. Next time, I would like to try their specialty "Hamburger Cutlet Sandwich" as well‼️

Located one street away from the north side of Tsutenkaku in the New World, this famous long-established Western-style restaurant exudes a sense of history from its exterior, while the interior exudes the atmosphere of a Showa-era coffee shop. I ordered the famous dishes that have been featured on TV before, the Hamburger Steak Sandwich and the Hamburger Steak Curry Stew, each priced at 1980 yen. The Hamburger Steak Sandwich consists of a medium rare hamburger patty sandwiched between thin toast, with a crispy exterior and a juicy meat juice that easily melts in your mouth. The Hamburger Steak Curry Stew features a medium rare hamburger patty wrapped in a crispy coating, perfectly complemented by the generous amount of curry sauce. You'll find yourself wanting more rice right away. Both dishes were incredibly delicious.

Tonkatsu with demiglace sauce for ¥2,100. I've wanted to visit this place for a while now. I found it tucked away in a little alley. The meat was tender, the breading was crispy, and the demiglace sauce was of very high quality. I especially liked the depth of flavor in the slightly bitter demiglace sauce. I also tried a bit of my companion's curry sauce, and that was delicious too. I'd love to try more items from their menu in the future.

On the first night in Osaka, we all went to Shinsekai together. We headed straight to the Western-style restaurant Bon, passing by the kushikatsu shops. We ordered the famous curry stew, hamburger, menchi katsu, and Western-style fried rice. This meal might have been the most satisfying one on this Osaka trip. The atmosphere of the restaurant was charming and enjoyable, and the staff were extremely friendly.

I went to have lunch at Grill Bon-san. I have been to the restaurant several times, and each time I am greeted by the elegant and lovely smile of the third-generation owner. It is so soothing! I tried the minced cutlet for the first time, and it was delicious! The crispy coating, juicy minced meat, and gentle demi-glace sauce all complement each other perfectly! The prices are reasonable, so I highly recommend trying it. It is limited in quantity, so please visit the restaurant soon! The shrimp garlic rice that I love was also delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal! If you like Western food, Bon-san is the place to go. Please stop by and enjoy! It's a comforting restaurant.

The rainy season has started, making it a hassle to go shopping with an umbrella~♪ On this day, with rain in the forecast for the afternoon, I decided to quickly do some shopping before the rain started. I rode my bike to the supermarket and parked it at the recently opened coin parking lot in front of the store. As a bonus, I hopped on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line to have lunch at "Grill Bon," a well-established Western-style restaurant founded in 1961, located in a narrow alley off the main street of Shinsekai. Their popular dish is the "Beef Hamburger Steak Sandwich" available for takeout. It had been 9 years since my last visit, and this time I sat at the retro counter inside the restaurant. I ordered the following: ◆ Hamburger Steak Curry Stew 2,100 yen with soup ◆ Rice 220 yen. Last time, I had the "Hamburger Beef Cutlet" with plenty of demi-glace sauce, but this time I chose the curry stew with "Hamburger Steak" and added rice. After a 15-minute wait, my meal arrived, and I dug in (^o^)/ The thick "Hamburger Steak" was very tender and satisfying to eat, and the curry sauce it was stewed in had a gentle and elegant flavor, similar to demi-glace with little spiciness. Since it's not a curry dish, it's perfect for enjoying the main ingredient, the "Hamburger Steak"! The side dishes included sunny lettuce, boiled cabbage, tomato, and macaroni salad, which added a nice touch of color, especially the sweet boiled cabbage which was a refreshing palate cleanser. I placed two slices of Hamburger Steak on top of the rice, poured the curry sauce with a spoon, and finished off with a delightful Hamburger Steak Curry. It was a slightly luxurious and blissful lunch. Next time, I've already decided on the limited quantity "Hamburger Steak" and a half-sized 4-piece "Cutlet Sandwich." Bon appétit! (●^o^●)

I visited a retro restaurant for the first time in Ebisucho, Osaka! I arrived at 5 pm on a Saturday and was seated immediately without having to wait outside. The restaurant is located in a back alley near Tsutenkaku Tower, and the area is filled with a Showa retro atmosphere. I ordered the recommended tenderloin cutlet curry! The crispy coating and juicy cutlet were delicious! I enjoyed my meal very much. Additional note: The restaurant and the surrounding area are a must-visit for retro lovers! The owner and staff provided great service, making the dining experience enjoyable.

Today, I visited a restaurant recommended by my senior's son for the first time. Both the hamburger and the pork cutlet sandwich were delicious. The pork cutlet sandwich was recommended with mustard, and it really added a great flavor to it. When leaving the restaurant, the owner came out to see us off, which made me want to come back again.

Visit date and time: 13:30 on a weekday Wait time: 10 minutes Menu: Hamburg Steak 1,540 yen + Katsu Sandwich (half size) 1,050 yen + Rice 220 yen Tourists are returning to Shinsekai and every restaurant has a line. When I arrived at Bon-san, there were two people waiting outside. I decided to wait since it wasn't too long. After about 10 minutes, we were seated. I ordered the limited quantity Hamburg Steak with rice, and also the Half-size Helre Katsu Sandwich that I had been wanting to try after seeing it on TV. The Katsu Sandwich arrived first. The crispy bread with juicy Helre Katsu was delicious. After eating a couple of pieces, the Hamburg Steak arrived. It was delicious with a sweet sauce. Lastly, I dipped the remaining Katsu Sandwich in mustard. It was as good as they say on TV. The Katsu Sandwich was too delicious. I will definitely come back for the Helre Katsu Sandwich. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I participated in a walking tour in Osaka called "Tram Enthusiast and Strolling Journey with Midway Stops". I was taken around for half a day on this tour. After the tour ended around 1 pm, we were at Ebisucho Station. I was walking around and getting hungry. Ebisucho Station is in Shinsekai, right? So, for lunch, I decided to go to this long-established famous restaurant in the area. It's a small Western-style restaurant in Shinsekai with a history of nearly 70 years in Osaka Minami. They are particular about making everything from mayonnaise to sauce by hand, and the second and third generations run the place with a homely atmosphere. When I entered, there were counter seats and table seats, luckily I got a table seat. I was thirsty, so I ordered a bottled beer, and the beef cutlet, which is the specialty of the restaurant. The beef cutlet was very thick and rare. The meat itself was light, but it was covered in a rich demi-glace sauce, so I enjoyed the combination of flavors. The accompanying cabbage and macaroni salad were also lightly seasoned. This balance made the dish even more delicious. It's the taste of a long-established restaurant in Shinsekai. As I was leaving, a celebrity also came in. A taste that captivates even celebrities and famous people.

Bon is famous for its katsu sandwich. I received it as a souvenir before and it was delicious. The main store is a small, long-established Western-style restaurant in a back alley overlooking Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku. The "Hirekatsu Curry Stew" (2100 yen) is also appealing, as well as the freshly made katsu sandwich. Instead of demi-glace, it comes with curry stew. First, you are served a soup. The warm soup, with plenty of sweetness from onions, is as enjoyable as the ordered dish. The Hirekatsu is served on a silver plate. Inside the crispy coating is juicy and tender beef. The fruity curry sauce is plentiful. Fukujinzuke is also available on the table, which goes well with the dish. The attentive service from the staff and the cozy Showa retro atmosphere make for a delightful dining experience.

Grill Bon! Beef cutlet sandwich!! I can't believe I can eat it at the main store... I ordered the pork sauté (lol). Before the store opened, I was walking around the front of the shop and the female staff showed me the menu, saying "Please wait a while until we open." Hmm, I just had breakfast, so "I'll take a walk and come back later." I revisited after 1 pm, with 4 people waiting ahead of me (maybe tourists?). I waited for a while and entered the store. I ordered a salad in addition to the pork sauté. This salad was delicious, with crispy vegetables and curry-flavored pickles (baby corn and lotus root) and a beautiful-looking potato salad! It came with soup. Hmm, what kind of potage is this? It had a gentle flavor, but I missed asking what it was. And then the main dish, the pork sauté. The meat was tender, the sauce was not too strong, but had a gentle taste. The side dishes were boiled cabbage and macaroni salad, I think? Overall, the dishes were not too salty and were gentle on the body, like Western food. It was lucky to be able to eat at the main store of Bon, famous for beef cutlets. I felt a bit unsatisfied, so I'll have some skewered cutlets before I leave. Thank you for the meal! ===========

I usually order the curry simmered beef cutlet, so this time I tried the curry cutlet. Unlike the curry simmered beef cutlet which is soaked in curry roux, the curry cutlet comes with curry on top, allowing you to taste the original deliciousness of the cutlet with its crispy coating. The curry itself is the same unique flavored curry from this restaurant, slightly on the shabu-shabu side. It is a spicy curry, but you can feel the spiciness more when eating it with the cutlet. When I talked to the owner before leaving, he agreed that the flavor changes when eating the curry cutlet compared to the curry simmered beef cutlet. Being able to enjoy a delicious cutlet with thick meat and a crispy coating, topped with curry, makes me feel like I am experiencing a luxurious happiness.

Today's lunch was at the main store of "Grill Bon" located a little off the main street from Tsutenkaku. I have purchased hirekatsu sandwiches in places like Shin-Osaka before, but this was my first time visiting the main store! The restaurant has a small capacity with 3 counter seats and 3 tables for 4 people each, but since it was not crowded at the time, we were seated at an available table. We ordered the following: - Hire beef cutlet (with demi-glace sauce) - Rice First, we were served onion soup. The consomme soup with carefully extracted onion flavor was delicious. After a while, the hire beef cutlet was served. Let's dig in! The thick hire beef cutlet with plenty of demi-glace sauce, served with a green salad, tomato, and potato salad on the side. The cutlet was cooked rare, with a hint of pink still remaining in the meat. When you take a bite, the tender and elegant flavor spreads throughout your mouth. Wow, it's delicious! The rice is disappearing quickly! There was fukujinzuke on the table, which also goes well with rice! This is one of Osaka's representative Western-style restaurants that has been preserving its traditions for over 60 years. Dining while feeling the history is quite a special experience. The chef, the landlady, and the staff were all very kind and attentive, making it a pleasant dining experience. We left the restaurant in a good mood. Thank you for the meal!

Grill Bon, a popular Western-style restaurant located a 3-5 minute walk from Ebisucho Station. There is always a line forming before opening, and by noon, it becomes a large queue at this historic establishment founded in 1961. The staff's cheerful and polite service reflects their long-standing tradition of valuing customers, creating a pleasant dining experience. We tried their famous Hire Beef Cutlet with rice. The thick crispy batter of the cutlet combined with the tender meat, unique demi-glace sauce, and rich flavor made for a satisfying dish. If you're interested in visiting an authentic old-school Western-style eatery in Kansai, be sure to check this place out. Thank you for the meal!

【Visit date and time】Sunday around 17:40【Crowdedness】Waited for 5 to 10 minutes and was seated right away. Today is Sunday. The restaurant seemed quite small, so I thought we might have to wait a while. However, after just a few minutes, two groups left and we were seated immediately.【Ordered items】・Beer (medium) 500ml bottle・Hire Beef Cutlet (with demi-glace sauce) The "Hire Katsu Curry Stew" is recommended here, but I wanted to experience the crispy texture, so I tried the demi-glace sauce for the first time.【Food review】The Hire Beef Cutlet was very elegant and had a luxurious taste! The meat was lean without excess fat, cooked to a perfect medium-rare tenderness. The crispy coating added a satisfying crunch without being greasy. The demi-glace sauce was also delicious! It had a rich flavor without overpowering the main dish, making it a perfect complement. The sauce was so good, you could almost drink it like a beverage. I even poured the remaining sauce over the leftover rice at the end.【Service】Despite being a popular spot, the service was excellent. They promptly informed us of the wait time, noticed when our water was running low, and overall made sure we were well taken care of. There was no sense of the typical "busyness stress" you might encounter at a popular restaurant, making it a comfortable dining experience even for solo diners.

In the new world, there is a legendary Western-style restaurant that stands out from the rest with its unique aura emanating from the exterior. If you love Western cuisine, you must visit this long-established restaurant. The interior exudes a Showa-era retro vibe, creating a calming atmosphere. On this particular day, we tried their famous Beef Cutlet Sandwich and Fried Rice. The Fried Rice had a gentle flavor that kept us coming back for more, while the Beef Cutlet Sandwich was crispy, fluffy, and juicy - simply the best. When you visit the new world, be sure to stop by this restaurant.
