The rainy season has started, making it a hassle to go shopping with an umbrella~♪ On this day, with rain in the forecast for the afternoon, I decided to quickly do some shopping before the rain started. I rode my bike to the supermarket and parked it at the recently opened coin parking lot in front of the store. As a bonus, I hopped on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line to have lunch at "Grill Bon," a well-established Western-style restaurant founded in 1961, located in a narrow alley off the main street of Shinsekai. Their popular dish is the "Beef Hamburger Steak Sandwich" available for takeout. It had been 9 years since my last visit, and this time I sat at the retro counter inside the restaurant. I ordered the following: ◆ Hamburger Steak Curry Stew 2,100 yen with soup ◆ Rice 220 yen. Last time, I had the "Hamburger Beef Cutlet" with plenty of demi-glace sauce, but this time I chose the curry stew with "Hamburger Steak" and added rice. After a 15-minute wait, my meal arrived, and I dug in (^o^)/ The thick "Hamburger Steak" was very tender and satisfying to eat, and the curry sauce it was stewed in had a gentle and elegant flavor, similar to demi-glace with little spiciness. Since it's not a curry dish, it's perfect for enjoying the main ingredient, the "Hamburger Steak"! The side dishes included sunny lettuce, boiled cabbage, tomato, and macaroni salad, which added a nice touch of color, especially the sweet boiled cabbage which was a refreshing palate cleanser. I placed two slices of Hamburger Steak on top of the rice, poured the curry sauce with a spoon, and finished off with a delightful Hamburger Steak Curry. It was a slightly luxurious and blissful lunch. Next time, I've already decided on the limited quantity "Hamburger Steak" and a half-sized 4-piece "Cutlet Sandwich." Bon appétit! (●^o^●)
