The restaurant is located just a short walk from Osaka Metro Shinsaibashi Station, offering a convenient location. The exterior and interior exude a calm "Japanese" atmosphere filled with a sense of luxury, allowing diners to enjoy their meals while watching the cooking process. The spacious counter seats provide a comfortable dining experience, and there are fully private rooms at the back for relaxation. On this day, I was seated at the counter.
The menu offers both coursed meals and à la carte options, and I decided to go with à la carte after asking the staff for recommendations.
- **Horse Meat Burger**: The smoky aroma was delightful, and the horse meat was so savory and delicious.
- **Horse Sashimi Platter**: Featuring fatty chutoro, selected sirloin, marbled brisket, and throat fat. As you can see in the photo, the lean meat had a robust flavor, while the fat was sweet and melted in your mouth. The quality of the horse meat was exceptional.
- **Aso Lava Grill**: This included fatty chutoro, selected sirloin, horse fat, and marbled brisket. Each bite released an abundance of flavor. The sweetness of the horse fat and the meat's texture were incredible, and the tangy sauce made with pickled plum paired wonderfully, making me emotional about how delicious the grilled horse meat was.
- **Sakura Hot Pot**: Featuring loin, brisket, water spinach, enoki mushrooms, and garlic chives. The horse meat was used for a shabu-shabu, and the flavors in the broth were just out of this world. Imagining a rice porridge made with that broth would bring me to tears.
- **Special Sushi Platter**: Five pieces including fatty chutoro, sirloin, marbled brisket, lean sirloin, and negitoro. The quality was evident when eaten raw, and naturally, everything was delicious.
- **Sakura Snowstorm**: This signature dish had yam rolled up and topped with a mix of (sakura meat, sea urchin, and salmon roe) in abundance. It didn't stop there; it was finished with a generous dollop of caviar and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. The combined flavors of sakura meat, sea urchin, and the texture of yam were incredibly pleasing and absolutely delicious, making me emotional again.
I had a fantastic meal in a splendid space with excellent service, and I cannot recommend this wonderful restaurant enough. If I had to choose, I would highly recommend the Aso Lava Grill; the grilled horse meat is sure to amaze you. Since the restaurant has just opened and is not widely known yet, now is the perfect time to visit. Whether you're a horse meat lover or have never tried it before, or even if you're hesitant about it, I strongly urge you to give this fantastic place a try. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
