The hormone dish was amazing!! Even though I ordered a half portion of ramen, it was very filling and satisfying (^_^)

Yakiniku restaurant in Nakashibetsu. The town has seen an increase in the number of yakiniku restaurants, but I decided to try this cozy place where I could enjoy yakiniku alone. The name of the place is Shokudoen. It used to be located along a major street in the city, but now it has moved and is still in operation. For dinner during my business trip, I wasn't in the mood for a heavy meal, so I opted for the yakiniku set with hormone (offal) and pork belly. The portion of meat on the plate seemed good for one person. I ordered a regular serving of rice, which was just right for my appetite. They also offer ramen and bibimbap, so it seems like a place where you can enjoy yakiniku for lunch or as a meal to finish off your day. I also noticed they have simmered tripe, which I might try for my next lunch. Not for alcohol, though (laughs). It's nice to have a casual yakiniku restaurant like this for business travelers. Thank you for the meal.

At lunchtime, I passed by a ramen restaurant and decided to go in right away. I parked my car in the parking lot in front of the store and entered. Just like the exterior, the interior was spacious. The counter seats were full of items so there was no space to sit. I sat at a raised seating area and looked at the menu. I ordered the soy sauce chashu ramen. While waiting, I checked out the restaurant on Tabelog and found out that there is a yakiniku restaurant in Nakashibetsu that has been around for over 25 years. I remember it moving locations at some point, but I never thought it wouldn't be on Tabelog. The ramen arrived in 5 minutes. It was a simple ramen with black soup. The soup was salty as it looked, but lacked depth of flavor. The noodles were medium thickness, average. I wish they were a bit firmer. I took a bite of the chashu... Delicious. As expected from a yakiniku restaurant. When I chewed on the chashu, the umami of the meat and the exquisite taste of the sauce came out. It didn't have the dryness typical of pork loin, and it was delicious. They must have done a good job preparing and seasoning it. The toppings were seaweed, naruto, green onions, and bamboo shoots.
