海原雄コ♡
I have been to "㐂舌," one of the top places in Osaka for delicious aged meat, several times. They opened a new location in June, so of course I had to visit! The area around Namba Station is filled with Japanese people, but as soon as you step into the dining district, it quickly transforms into a bustling scene of foreigners. The new store, "㐂舌響," is located right next to Hozenji. The other locations, "㐂舌韻" and "Yakiniku Kitan," are also in the same Hozenji area but further down the street.
Upon entering, the interior has a woody design, which is different from their other locations. Right by the entrance is a cold storage unit displaying the meat, and there’s a grill in front of the counter that gets you excited right away. I was thrilled to see the meat laid out and couldn't stop taking pictures!
We started with:
- **Mushroom Soup**: It feels like autumn already! Even though it was still hot outside, the warm soup prepared my stomach perfectly. Its rich flavor and the wonderful aroma of mushrooms are simply irresistible, making me want a second helping.
- **Hibiki Yukke**: Mixing the dish as I add a luscious egg yolk, sour cream, and truffle sauce. The egg yolk is undoubtedly delicious, but the sour cream and truffle sauce complement it so well without overshadowing the meat's flavor.
- **Appetizer Platter**: I was amazed to see a beautiful and luxurious platter that looked like traditional Japanese cuisine. It was filled with autumn flavors, featuring ginkgo nuts, persimmons, sweet potatoes, and a small dish of tuna. It’s fun to have a refreshing change before diving back into the meat!
By the way, it seems that a new autumn menu had just started that day.
Following the platter was a perfectly grilled:
- **Norwegian Salmon**: Tender salmon served with ikura (salmon roe). The combination is unbeatable, especially with mushrooms and chestnuts to enjoy even more of the autumn flavors.
Then came the star of the meal, the:
- **Sirloin**: With a modest marbling, it’s tender and easy to eat. Accompanying it were skin-on fried potatoes, and the best part is that they came with sour cream—there's no stopping at this point! Although they offered salt and steak sauce, the meat was delightful on its own. I relished every bite of the exquisite sirloin!
Then, steaming white rice arrived, sending a delightful aroma wafting through the air when we opened the lid. The sight of the steam that spread out made my heart flutter.
After that, we enjoyed some more grilled meat:
- **Thick Cut Hanger Steak** and **Lamb**. The luxurious meal with both rice and meat was a true treat. My friend, as long as there was rice, delighted in trying various types of meat.
To conclude the meal, we moved to the second-floor bar counter for dessert:
- **Pudding** and **Bavarian Cream**. There aren’t many bars in Hozenji Yokocho where you can spend a relaxed time. A selection of high-end whiskeys lined the shelves, and the cozy dim lights created a lovely atmosphere. Behind me was a spacious counter that could seat about 15 people, but the noise was hardly noticeable, making it a comfortable spot to unwind.
The young chef Yoshitaka, in his 20s, has been practicing his grilling skills, and the steaks and grilled meat he provided were excellent. The manager, Tony, is great with foreign guests and speaks fluent Kansai dialect! There’s also a rice expert present, with delicious Italian wines available; the service is exceptional.
You can walk in off the street to enjoy great meat, and I had seen many burger photos in reviews. If you ask, they will make those too, so at "㐂舌," you can explore various styles of meat dishes! Truly impressive, once again, I’m in awe of "㐂舌." Thank you for the incredible meal!
