When visiting, it’s essential to make a reservation. This popular restaurant has been featured in many media outlets. I heard that their "Seafood Special" is incredible, so I decided to check it out. I made a reservation in advance and visited at 19:30 in the bustling area of Namba, near [NGK], on the second floor of a commercial building. The interior has a stylish, modern Japanese atmosphere, with all seats being sunken table types.
The restaurant offers both course meals and a la carte options, and on this day, I opted for the a la carte menu. Here’s what I ordered:
■ Smoked Daikon with Cream Cheese: The rich cream cheese paired with the salty flavor of the smoked daikon was incredibly delicious.
■ Soft-Boiled Egg, Avocado, and Shrimp Tartare: You could tell this dish was going to be amazing just by looking at it. The runny soft-boiled egg, the bouncy texture of the shrimp, and the smoothness of the avocado made this dish absolutely perfect.
■ Cheese Okonomiyaki: The juiciness and sweetness of the pork were outstanding, combined with ample cabbage, fluffy egg, and gooey cheese. This was at a quality level that could stand alone as a main dish.
■ Fresh Noodle Modern Seafood Special with Overflowing Seafood Toppings: Finally, my main target had arrived! Watching the seafood being piled high right before my eyes was a must-see experience, perfect for video capture. You can see in the photos that the sizes of the shrimp, scallops, and squid are gigantic, making for an incredibly satisfying meal. The modern dish consists of layers of dough and noodles for a unique texture. It was so delicious I nearly cried.
■ Agosuji Yakisoba with Two Fried Eggs: Since I enjoyed the noodles in the modern dish, I also decided to order the yakisoba. With the two fried eggs on top, it almost looked like a face when you took a closer look. Of course, it was absolutely delicious.
■ Purple Sweet Potato Ice Cream: This was super intense in its purple sweet potato flavor, and the richness and sweetness blew me away.
Ah, I ate so much! The dishes, combining traditional and creative elements, not only look fantastic but are also made with high-quality ingredients, making them all incredibly tasty. Although I opted for the a la carte menu this time, they offer courses starting from 4000 yen, and you can get drink options included from 6000 yen, making it quite budget-friendly. This restaurant is highly recommended for both tourists visiting Osaka and locals who are particular about their "konamon" (batter-based foods). Thank you for the meal!
