"Soba, small dishes, and daytime drinking" - I visited after half a year, wanting to enjoy these. It was a Sunday afternoon and luckily a 4-person table was available. The place was constantly busy with customers, showing how popular it is, being one of the top 100 restaurants. Many customers come in pairs. I love Matsushita for various reasons. Their dedication to food - taste, ingredients, timing. They carefully time each dish to perfection, observing all customers. The layout allows seeing all customers. I'm always impressed and enjoy the delicious food. Today, I had the usual dishes, seasonal specials, delicious sake, and 80% buckwheat soba. The seasoning is light and elegant, perfect with sake. I left my sake choice to the owner. Thank you as always. - Roasted duck (the fat and juices are delicious!) - Cod milt with ponzu sauce (crunchy and light!) - Cod roe and butterbur shoot stew (butterbur shoot is cooked perfectly!) - Miso-grilled soba (fresh aroma and flavor!) - Taro and shrimp simmered dish (chewy and sweet, amazing!) - Ankimo with miso (the liver melts in your mouth!) - Braised pork belly (light and similar to oden!) I also added comments to the photos. The soba is 80% buckwheat. I had 3 servings alone today. It's smooth, chewy, fragrant. I enjoyed the aroma before eating, then just the soba. Topped with wasabi and dipped in sauce, it was a delightful meal. I feel happy every time I come here. I really love Matsushita's soba! Thank you for the meal today.

From Osaka Metro Tanamachi Line Nakazakicho Station, it's a short walk. This is Osaka Matsushita. One thing I occasionally feel in Osaka is that people here surprisingly like soba as well, not just udon. There are soba restaurants here, and of course, there are good ones too. So, here are three criteria for a good soba restaurant: good soba, good duck, and good sake. This place has it all. I visited for a lunch drink. The soba menu only offers zaru soba, a sign of a great soba and drink spot. For light bites, I ordered duck roast, saury and burdock simmered dish, and grilled miso soba. Each dish was excellently prepared. They seem to change their menu according to the season, offering solid bites that could easily be the main dish. The zaru soba is made on-site with a stone mill visible in the store, giving it a fragrant aroma, chewy texture, and a smooth finish that feels pleasant. Just dipping it in wasabi is satisfying. You can order a second cup, so if you feel like it, you can go for another round of light and delicious soba. The broth is made with bonito dashi that suits the Kansai region well. It's quite elegant and doesn't overpower the soba. Finishing with soba-yu allows you to appreciate the broth's deliciousness once again. The restaurant is located beyond the hustle and bustle of Umeda, in a calm atmosphere that feels like you've entered a different world. This is truly an oasis in Osaka.

As someone from Hokkaido, I find that udon in Kansai is incredibly delicious, but surprisingly there seem to be few soba shops. Among them, Matsushita-san's soba shop is getting a lot of attention for its delicious soba. They only serve zaru soba, but it's really something to look forward to. The homemade kamaboko and duck breast are incredibly delicious. It's completely different from anything I've had before in terms of taste and texture. Moving on to the zaru soba, the noodles have a strong bite to them. You can feel a hint of saltiness, and even without the dipping sauce, you can taste the flavor of the noodles. I had two extra servings of noodles, and each time they brought me more dipping sauce and condiments, which I appreciated. The soba water after finishing the meal was exceptional. When you want to eat delicious soba, this is the place that comes to mind.

First visit. I decided to make a reservation after seeing the high ratings on Tabelog and thinking it would be a good place to drink at a soba restaurant. When I entered at 6:30 pm, there was only one other group of customers in the restaurant. I was seated at a table and looked at the menu on the table. Yes, it looks good for drinking (^O^) Today, in addition to the menu, there was sashimi of amberjack available, so I ordered that. I started with a beer and ordered grilled miso and board wasabi. Then I added duck loin, simmered conger eel and burdock, and switched to sake. I had Abekan, Summer Kawakame, and Kikuhime (cloudy sake) and finished with soba. The soba was very flavorful with black shichimi spice, the portion was just right, and it was easy to eat. I left the restaurant in just over an hour. Drinking at a soba restaurant. Ah, I've become an adult, haha. It was delicious. I will visit again! Thank you for the meal (^O^)

Today's lunch was soba noodles! I headed to a restaurant called "Osaka Matsushita"♪ The owner of this restaurant is an apprentice who was raised under the legendary soba master, Daruma Takahashi Kunihiro, known as the "Soba God". The restaurant is a 6-minute walk from Hankyu Umeda Station, Chayamachi Exit, a 6-minute walk from Tanimachi Line Nakazakicho Station Exit 4, and a 12-minute walk from JR Osaka Station Midosuji North Exit. I arrived at the restaurant a little after 12 o'clock and went inside. The restaurant was about 70-80% full. I was seated at a table for two and looked at the menu. Here, they use carefully selected buckwheat from all over Japan and grind it in-house to make their soba noodles. They offer only one menu item, "zaru soba", to fully appreciate the aroma, umami, and flavor of the soba noodles. So, let's enjoy the soba noodles first! I ordered the following: - Zaru soba - Homemade fish cake - Duck breast - Ebisu beer (small bottle) First, I took a sip of the beer. I enjoyed the radish appetizer and homemade fish cake while waiting for the soba noodles. The fish cake had a nice chewy texture and was very tasty. Next, the duck breast was served. It was seasoned and I tried it as is first. The duck was very tender and delicious. It also tasted great with mustard. Finally, when I finished eating, the soba noodles were served. The soba noodles on this day were made using buckwheat from Ibaraki Prefecture. It was a high-quality 80% buckwheat soba with a great aroma, sweetness, and flavor! The texture and mouthfeel were also excellent. It's easy to understand why they only serve "zaru soba". The soba dipping sauce was designed not to overpower the soba noodles but to enhance their aroma and flavor. It seems they use 2-year-old dried bonito flakes from Makurazaki to make the dashi broth. The soba broth was slightly thick. It was also amazing! I enjoyed it until the end. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It was delicious. It didn't have any strong flavors, just normal. It was a bit hard to judge the quality without ordering a main dish, but the soba noodles had a simple taste. I don't have a sophisticated palate to describe it, but the shrimp and eggplant dish was so delicious that I thought the soba noodles must be good too!笑

The soba noodles were very delicious, served at a slightly warm temperature with a great texture. They were not too firm and had a slight saltiness that made them enjoyable on their own. The winter melon and tender octopus stew were gentle and paired well with beer. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I would definitely want to eat this soba again.

I had been curious about this place for a while, and from the appearance alone, I knew it would be delicious. The menu is simple - they only offer zaru soba. I ordered the zaru soba for 900 yen and the duck breast for 850 yen. The duck breast arrived in just 5 minutes and it was delicious! I wanted to have it with some sake, but I decided against it this time. I only had a few bites of the duck before the zaru soba arrived. It looked shiny and delicious. The noodles had a good texture and the flavor of the buckwheat spread in my mouth. It was incredibly tasty. The table also had some shichimi pepper, which was also very good. This place focuses on simplicity and the taste is outstanding. It seems like a great spot for a second round at night.

Last time, I only had two dishes of soba and appetizers, but this time I also had three glasses of sake! Duck was delicious as always, and the presentation was beautiful ✨ The photo shows octopus and sea bream sashimi lol It's been a few years since I had Japanese sake, but was it always this delicious? Maybe it's because I drank it from a thin glass? It was easy to drink. They also provided a chaser so I could stay hydrated. The zaru soba at the end was also delicious! I will definitely visit again~

The type of soba noodles is zaru soba. It's not cold, so you can enjoy it crispy. It comes with green onions and wasabi as condiments, and the wasabi doesn't have a strong spiciness that hits your nose. They offer about 10 types of sake, so for those who like alcohol, zaru soba might be the best choice as a finishing dish. The soba noodles were delicious, so I ended up having two servings. As someone who doesn't drink sake, if there were tempura, there would be nothing to complain about. ✨

I found out about this highly rated soba restaurant on Tabelog when a friend expressed a craving for soba. When we arrived about 30 minutes after it opened, there was a wait of about 2-3 people. By the time we left, the wait had grown to 7-8 people. They offered a variety of soba and side dishes, and everything was delicious.

It's been a while since I had it, but it was still delicious as always. The soba noodles have a nice firmness and a subtle flavor, making it a refined dish. I enjoyed it so much that I even ordered a second serving. The chef and the hostess are both very friendly and have just the right amount of distance, so even first-time visitors can feel comfortable. If I had one request, it would be to have salt available (laughs). The side dishes are also delicious.

The world is in Golden Week♪ I always feel excited during Golden Week w. I like the feeling of everyone being excited. I grabbed some change (oh, it's ICOCA^^;) and headed to the nearest station... Destination: Osaka. Not for shopping (´∀`) I'm going sightseeing in Osaka. Got off at Temma Station and walked towards Tenjinbashi Suji Shopping Street in the direction of Tenroku. It seems like there are more people than usual today... After passing through the shopping street, I wandered around the Nakazaki-cho area♪ It's bustling with tourists around here, right? There are many different shops, so fun~(´∀`*) The old-fashioned Chinese restaurant seems to be closed today... There's a line in front of the popular shop... Well, I'm just strolling around for sightseeing (laughs). Walking through the streets of Osaka in a sightseeing mood is also interesting~♬ Well, let's head back slowly ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ On the way back to the station, I remembered... I think there was a shop I wanted to visit around here... Oh, it was around here! Decided to have lunch at "Osaka Matsushita" since I'm already here! The bustling interior... A couple came in after me and the place was fully booked!! Lucky to get a seat (*´∀`*) I ordered the "zaru soba" and a side dish. Of course, I ordered the "zaru soba." People around me were enjoying their soba before me (^_^;) I should have ordered a drink too~^^; The quality of the side dish seems good♡ Next time, I'll definitely have a drink too ( ^ ^ )/□www The soba was absolutely amazing! The dipping sauce was a bit sharp, but I don't mind that (*´꒳`*) The soba water was served at the perfect timing♪ This soba water is so delicious!! I drank so much that my stomach was full (*≧∀≦*) The service was also excellent♡ I decided to come back here next time to enjoy a drink slowly... Thank you to the staff, the restaurant, the soba, and the soba water. Thank you for the meal✴️✴️✴️

This place is highly recommended, but I don't want it to become too famous. It's located under a building a short walk from Umeda, where you can enjoy incredibly delicious dishes, sake, and soba. Try the grilled miso, paired with sake, or the kamaboko with sake, or the duck breast with sake... and finish with a slurp of soba. Just this alone makes you grateful to have been born Japanese.

Osaka Matsushita 06-6377-1553 Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City, Kita-ku, Tsurunocho 4 Tabelog Rating: 3.71 I often eat soba in Tokyo and Hokuriku, but I have never tried soba in Osaka. I looked up a good place and went for lunch. They open at 11:00, and I arrived 10 minutes early to be the first in line. This restaurant only serves zaru soba. The soba was served with two types of meat as appetizers - duck breast and Japanese-style roast beef. The seasoning made me want to drink alcohol. I'm happy to have found a delicious soba restaurant in Osaka. I was surprised when I entered! The only type of soba available was zaru soba. I couldn't leave, so I had it. Even during lunchtime on a weekday, there were many people enjoying cold sake and appetizers - in that scenario, zaru soba is the best choice. I'll make sure to come back next time when I can have a drink!

I couldn't make a reservation for lunch, so I arrived before 11 a.m. on Sunday and was able to get in smoothly as there was no one there yet. They only serve zaru soba, but it was simple and very delicious. I also tried the soba miso and duck roast, which were so delicious that they disappeared in an instant. The miso was tasty on its own and also delicious when dipped in the soba!

Had lunch at Matsushita in Chayamachi. I've been coming to this soba restaurant the most in recent years because it's easy to access and serves delicious soba. The soba menu consists only of zaru soba, but the quality of the side dishes is also high, so you can enjoy the meal before the soba. This time, I ordered only zaru soba for a weekday lunch. The soba looked beautiful, had a good chewy texture, and a refreshing mouthfeel. Also, I could feel the aroma and sweetness of the soba with each bite. The soba broth is a slightly spicy and sharp type that is not common in Osaka, with a subtle bonito flavor. I am more familiar with sweeter soba broth, but I think this type brings out the flavor of the soba itself more. (I'm saying I understand, but well, I actually like both...) Finally, I had soba-yu and finished my meal. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant opens at 11:00 am on weekdays, and I entered at the same time. I ordered the zaru soba with fuki and wagyu roast beef for 900 yen plus 1000 yen. The soba noodles had a strong texture and were fresh and beautiful. The quality of the soba at this price is impressive. The atmosphere of the quiet and serene restaurant may not be the most relaxing, but the experience was good overall. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

I was planning to visit one of Osaka's top 100 udon restaurants for a meal before heading to USJ, but to my surprise, the udon shop I wanted to go to, Udon-ya Kisuke, had a long line of 20-30 people even though I went at a different time. I decided to give up and ended up having a soba lunch at a nearby restaurant called Osaka Matsushita. I didn't research beforehand, but it turned out to be a highly rated restaurant with great reviews on Tabelog. Lucky me! The soba noodles were delicious and they only served zaru soba. The side dishes were also amazing - homemade fish cakes, duck breast, cod milt with ponzu, vinegar miso with firefly squid and white asparagus, simmered rockfish. The lunch menu had some unique items for a soba restaurant, but everything was perfectly delicious. It was such a pleasant surprise to stumble upon such a high-quality restaurant during my trip. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

Located between Nakazakicho Station and Nakatsu Station, this soba restaurant is a hidden gem. Nearby, you can find Udon no Kisuke and Ramen dato Ciel, creating a lovely noodle triangle. Now, let's talk about Matsushita-san. The soba menu offers a fantastic zaru soba option. The black-themed interior exudes a crisp atmosphere, raising expectations even higher. While I would love to indulge in some sake with some appetizers, unfortunately, I am a designated driver. So, I'll enjoy some non-alcoholic beer with the braised pork belly. Oh, this pork belly is amazing! The tender pork meat melts in your mouth, and the broth is so flavorful. It's not too salty or sweet, just a perfect balance of flavors. Good soba restaurants always have delicious side dishes. Now, onto the soba noodles. The shiny, fresh soba noodles emit a delightful aroma. They have just the right amount of firmness and a smooth texture that goes down the throat effortlessly. The dipping sauce is not too sharp, but it has a solid flavor. One serving seems too little, but two servings might be too much. What a luxurious dilemma to have.
