Wagyu Bistro "Wagaya" in Nishi-Shinjuku offers delicious薪焼き (charcoal-grilled) A5 rank black Japanese wagyu beef. I tried the rib-eye, rump, and beef tongue, and they were all incredibly tasty! The Wagaya course begins with appetizers: wagyu tartare, wagyu carpaccio, and wagyu menchikatsu. For the main course, you can choose freely from various options. That day, they also had the special rib-eye cut available, which I decided to try! Here are some of the choices: - Black wagyu sirloin - Black wagyu rib-eye - Black wagyu ichibo - Black wagyu rump - Black wagyu upper thigh - Iwanchu pork loin - Domestic beef tongue For the final rice dish, you can choose from wagyu bolognese, wagyu curry, or wagyu garlic rice, and you can have unlimited refills. You can even enjoy bolognese and then get a refill of wagyu curry! However, since the entire course is packed with wagyu, most regular diners won’t have the capacity to refill at the end because they will be too full. Personally, I was curious about the garlic rice after the bolognese, but by then, I had eaten so much meat that I reached my limit. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to indulge in meat! Since it’s not a yakiniku restaurant, it doesn’t leave any strong smells, making it suitable for dates as well.

WAIGAYA S is a popular wagyu bistro located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. One of its main features is the grilled kuroge wagyu cooked over a薪 (wood) fire. You can enjoy top-quality meat at a reasonable price. What’s more impressive is that the non-meat menu is also delicious. The fresh fish carpaccio made with buri (yellowtail) is refreshing, and the wagyu carpaccio paired with cheese goes perfectly with drinks. Of course, the main attraction—the kuroge wagyu—is of exceptional quality. Depending on the course you choose, you can select different cuts and quantities of meat. By the way, you can enjoy unlimited servings of the closing dish, which is amazing! It's great that anyone can leave feeling full. Many women also visit, but the generous portions make it popular among men as well. On this occasion, we were attended to by Mr. Aoki from Kurotan Aoki, and we enjoyed a special course arrangement that was fantastic. If you're looking to enjoy the best meat and Italian cuisine in Shinjuku, I highly recommend WAIGAYA S!

There’s no sign, so it might be a bit hard to find. The drinks are free, and if you order food, you can help yourself to the items available at the counter (alcohol is, of course, separate). Also, if you post on social media with the relevant hashtag for lunch, you'll get a dessert as a gift. I ordered the wood-fired steak rice bowl. The taste was okay, nothing particularly bad.

I had the steak bowl for lunch. I wouldn't say the quality of the meat is low by any means, but since it's wagyu, you might raise your expectations too high and end up feeling a bit underwhelmed. It's definitely "meat." I recommend it if you're in the mood for something hearty. I was feeling just that way, so I was very satisfied. You can get unlimited rice and raw eggs. It also comes with a drink bar, which is a big plus, offering options like cola and ginger ale. The coffee is also quite good. Additionally, and this is purely a personal preference, I was thrilled to find a large serving of pickled onions on top (I really like them...). I'll definitely come back when I crave meat again!

I visited ‘Wagyu Shokudo Waigaya,’ located in a narrow alley in the Nishi-Shinjuku 8-chome area, where many restaurants are clustered together. The restaurant has a Tabelog rating of 3.39 (as of October 2023). The stylish decor made it a bit challenging for a middle-aged man like me to enter, but the lunch menu is fully focused on meat dishes, which is great for meat lovers! I ordered the ‘Black Wagyu Aburi Don’ for 1,200 yen. The restaurant offers a free drink system from the counter. Considering the location, the prices are quite reasonable, and the taste was delicious! Next time, I’d like to order the steak don. Thank you for the meal!

Located just behind the busy Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station, this lively eatery offers a great selection of meat dishes at an excellent value, allowing you to fill up on delicious food. With a casual Italian flair, you can enjoy a hearty finish with abundant pasta or curry. The quality of the meat is superb, and the sauces are thoughtfully crafted, making every dish delightful and never tiresome. - **Vegetables**: Cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, and dried tomatoes with miso. - **Burrata Cheese with Persimmon Compote**: The creamy burrata pairs beautifully with the sweetness of persimmon. - **Wagyu Carpaccio**: Thinly sliced with mushrooms and balsamic. The strong scent of the mushrooms combines excellently with the tender meat. - **Wagyu Offal Mapo Tofu**: The rich flavor of the fat is mellowed out, with a nicely refreshing hint of miso. - **Meat Tempura**: Tender beef tempura that pairs well with a tangy sauce that cuts through the richness, balanced perfectly with roasted eggplant on the side. - **Fegatelli**: A dish made of liver and beef tongue wrapped in caul fat. The mild flavor of the liver and the texture of the tongue are brought together by a rich tomato sauce. - **Lamb Taliata**: Served with salsa verde, this dish boasts a firm texture and strong umami from the red meat. The smoky, juicy finish from the wood-fire grilling technique is exceptional. - **Menchi Katsu Curry**: The minced meat cutlet is crunchy and packed with flavor, while the spicy curry is addictive. - **Hormone Pasta**: The pasta has a great texture, the fresh basil adds a nice touch, and it balances well with the offal's richness. What's impressive is that the menu changes every time you visit. The staff are excellent, and the pacing of the dishes is just right. It's also a fantastic place for larger groups.

It was almost like having the place to ourselves, and the all-you-can-drink orders arrived quickly, which was great. However, I felt that the course could have had more meat as the main focus to better match the restaurant's name. The portion size was quite ample, but I would have liked a more impressive main dish and at least a dessert included.

I was excited by the stylish and delicious homemade sangria! I ordered à la carte, but I got a bit confused about the differences in the wagyu specialty series just from the menu; however, it was great to have so many options. I was also torn about whether to choose the wood-fired dishes, but I went with the Ichibo cut. It was incredibly tender and truly delicious. The portion was large, so I ended up feeling very full! Since we were just two people, I felt it was a shame we couldn't try more variety. Overall, I highly recommend focusing on the wood-fired meat dishes!

◇ Course Enjoyed (As of 2024/9/26) - 【Ultimate! Wagyu Restaurant Waigaya Course】 Choose from filet, tongue, or sirloin for the main dish, with an option to select an additional type based on the number of people! The meal concludes with unlimited refills! It's a course that allows you to savor Wagyu to the fullest, crafted with care by Wagyu Restaurant Waigaya! 【Food Only】 Contents: - Seasonal vegetable appetizer (pickled onions, water eggplant, sweet potato with white miso and olive oil dip) - 2 varieties of Wagyu tartare - 2 varieties of Wagyu carpaccio - Wagyu menchi-katsu - Choose your main dish - Black-haired Wagyu ribeye - Domestic beef tongue - Black-haired Wagyu ichibo - Choose your closing dish - Wagyu garlic rice ※ The selection of meat allows you to choose one type plus one for each reserved person! Since I dined with another person, we could choose three varieties! Waigaya is known for its famous hamburgers, but I heard about their meaty courses and decided to make a reservation after work! Starting with the appetizers, the "Wagyu Tartare (2 varieties)" paired perfectly with garlic chips and balsamic sauce. This dish was amazing with wine! The portion was satisfying, leaving no room for disappointment! Next, we had the "Wagyu Tartare (2 varieties)". I really enjoyed this. It was great to experience both Western and Japanese flavors. Spreading it on toast added to the volume, and it paired wonderfully with their recommended sangria! Before the main course, we also had the "Menchi-Katsu". The crispy coating surrounding juicy meat was delightful. The burst of meat juice in your mouth was an unforgettable experience. And then, the much-anticipated main course! How luxurious to have three options to choose from! I selected: - Black-haired Wagyu ribeye - Domestic beef tongue - Black-haired Wagyu ichibo I particularly loved the tongue. It's juicy yet refreshing, making it outstanding! After indulging in such premium Wagyu, I deliberated quite a bit on the closing dish and finally settled on the "Garlic Rice"! It had a strong garlic flavor but was still easy to finish. It was a perfect way to end the meal (I always end up ordering garlic rice, no matter what). The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual yet stylish, with counter seating and tables in the back. It's lively, catering to couples and after-work gatherings, while still maintaining a mature ambiance. There are many photogenic dishes, making it an excellent choice for dates or girls’ nights out.

I had an intense craving for meat and decided to enter a restaurant. I ordered from the menu based on my instincts. Was that the right choice? The all-you-can-drink option is a good value. The roast beef came with an egg yolk and sauce, but I wonder what the mayonnaise is for. I had apple juice and oolong tea, and finished with iced coffee. Unfortunately, I found the iced coffee to be a bit disappointing.

Introducing a restaurant that was featured on Mezamashi and Ōsama no Branch! --------꙳◌ What I Ordered ◌꙳-------- ◆ Wagyu Shokudo Waigaya Course - ¥10,300 with 3-hour all-you-can-drink - Seasonal vegetable appetizers - 2 types of Wagyu tartare - 2 types of Wagyu carpaccio - Wagyu menchi-katsu - Choice of main course - Choice of finishing dish: - Wagyu bolognese - Wagyu curry - Wagyu garlic rice ---------꙳◌ About the Restaurant ◌꙳--------- Located a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, this meat bistro is in the competitive Nishishinjuku area filled with delicious eateries. I heard that the A5 grade black Wagyu delivered directly from Shibaura offers great value for money, so I decided to check it out! I ordered the ¥10,300 course, but there is also a ¥5,000 course with a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option, making the overall meal costs very reasonable. The restaurant has 60 seats and offers tables, counters, and sofa seating, as well as options for standing parties. ---------꙳◌ Food Impressions ◌꙳--------- ◆ Wagyu Tartare (2 types) Having two types of tartare is such a luxury! It has a strong flavor that pairs perfectly with drinks. The sangria from the all-you-can-drink menu also looks great. ◆ Wagyu Carpaccio (2 types) The carpaccio is delicious too! The balsamic sauce and garlic chips create a fantastic combination, and it’s rich in flavor. ◆ Wagyu Menchi-katsu This dish is impressive in size! It's filling, juicy, and packed with flavor. I felt so lucky to enjoy Wagyu menchi-katsu! ◆ Choice of Main Course I chose between black Wagyu filet, sirloin, and tongue. The moment the large cuts of meat were brought to my table, I was overjoyed! Although there were seasonings like yuzu pepper provided, I preferred to have it simply with salt. I believe using rock salt brings out the meat's natural flavors best! ◆ Choice of Finishing Dish I was surprised to find I could choose from three options. All were tempting—Wagyu bolognese, curry, and garlic rice—but I went with the bolognese. The flat noodles were smooth and went well with the sauce. I heard that the finishing dishes are unlimited, so I wanted to try the curry too, but I was just too full... Overall, I was very satisfied with being able to enjoy various forms of meat! It’s a good option for those who love meat but don’t want the smell of grilled meat lingering, or for a girls' gathering! -------꙳◌ Additional Notes ◌꙳------- With experience dining out 200 times a year, I introduce places that are great for "girls' nights" or "dates." ◆ Follow me on Instagram: per0rine I’d love it if you checked it out—likes, saves, and comments make me happy! ✨

For a reservation visit on weekdays at 7 PM, we offer a 5,000 yen course with all-you-can-drink. Please note that the west exit of Shinjuku Station is under construction, so it might take a bit longer to walk after clearing the Shinjuku Dungeon. Make sure to allow extra time for your visit! While the 5,000 yen all-you-can-drink course offers high satisfaction, if you’d like to enjoy a variety of meats, I recommend considering a slightly more expensive course. The all-you-can-drink menu includes a surprisingly wide range of options, so if you're satisfied with just beer, lemon sours, and highballs, you can still have a great time with the cheaper course!

The main dish of beef chunk was accompanied by a variety of dishes, making for a very satisfying meal. While there are many affordable plates featuring chicken and pork sausages, this restaurant allows you to choose three portions from the best cuts of beef. **Today's Meal** *Extreme! Wagyu Dining Waigaya Course with all-you-can-drink for 10,300 yen (tax included)* - Seasonal vegetable appetizer - Two types of Wagyu tartare - Two types of Wagyu carpaccio - Wagyu menchikatsu - Choose your main: - Black-haired wagyu filet - Black-haired wagyu sirloin - Black-haired wagyu ribeye - Domestic beef tongue - Black-haired wagyu ichibo - Black-haired wagyu rump - Black-haired wagyu uchimomo - Choose your final dish: - Wagyu bolognese - Wagyu curry - Wagyu garlic rice **My Review** **Selling Points** A hidden bistro where you can enjoy A5 grade black-haired wagyu cooked over firewood. Indulge in the finest wagyu delivered directly from Shibuya, savoring a juicy tenderness infused with the aroma of the wood. It's perfect for meals with friends or a date. **Food & Taste** The menu features a variety of dishes that lavishly use wagyu, including tartare, carpaccio, and menchikatsu. Notably, the sirloin and filet are savory on the outside while juicy and tender on the inside. The finishing dish of wagyu garlic rice is also exquisite. **Access** The restaurant is about a 2-minute walk from Nishishinjuku Station on the Marunouchi Line. It is located a little away from the hustle and bustle of Nishishinjuku, making it easily accessible. **Atmosphere** The cozy and casual ambiance emanates warmth from the wooden decor. There are counter seats where you can see the open kitchen, as well as sofa seating suitable for groups. The interior is stylishly adorned with art, allowing for a relaxing dining experience. **Service** The staff are friendly and provide an enjoyable experience. The delivery of food and drinks is prompt, with thoughtful attention to detail. **Pricing & Cost Performance** The Extreme Wagyu Dining Course is priced at 8,800 yen, with an all-you-can-drink option for 1,500 yen, making it rather reasonable for a meal featuring high-end wagyu. With the high quality of the wagyu and the diverse menu, satisfaction is high, offering good value for the price.

A small dining street in Nishi-Shinjuku. The restaurant next to the famous Ramen Nagi! Known for its grilled wagyu beef, I decided to visit for lunch this time. I often see posts about the grilled steak bowl on social media, but I opted for the menchi katsu plate for 900 yen instead. I thought 900 yen for a menchi katsu made with black wagyu and including a drink was a great deal... and it turned out to be a fantastic value! The thick, crispy menchi katsu was perfectly fried with two pieces. When I bit into them, the juicy meat juice flowed out, soaking into the rice—so delicious! It was an absolute hit. I was surprised to find that the drinks are free to refill. I was especially happy that cafe au lait was available! The staff-to-customer ratio was quite low (which I appreciated), and I couldn't help but think it was a bit of a waste. I wondered if they could include pictures of the dishes on the back of the lunch menu or if they could unify the lighting to a warm tone for better photos... just thoughts running through my mind. I hope this post helps more people learn about the place! I left feeling very satisfied. Thank you for the meal! ____________________ ▷ Ordered items ◁ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ Menchi Katsu Plate 900 yen

I suddenly got a craving for meat and made a last-minute reservation to visit! It was located in the office district! Since I wanted to eat a lot, I went for the double portion of 400g. However, the flavor was quite monotonous, and honestly, I started to get bored towards the end. I think it would have been nice if I could change up the flavor with some salt and pepper or something similar.

Today, we had a meal at "Wagyudokoro Waigaya," which is about a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. Since it’s a bit away from the station, the atmosphere was quite calm and relaxed. The interior mainly featured table seating, with a counter also available. This time, we chose a table. We placed our order using a QR code that we scanned with our smartphones. We opted for the “Extreme! Wagyudokoro Waigaya Course.” The appetizer consisted of seasonal vegetables: pickled onions, water eggplant, and okra. The water eggplant was refreshing and sweet, making it delicious. Next, we had two types of Wagyu carpaccio—one with arugula and cheese in a Western style, and the other with onions in a Japanese style. Each had different sauces, making it fun to compare them. I personally preferred the Japanese style. We also tried two types of Wagyu tartare, which were prepared in both Japanese and Western flavors. The meat was tender and tasty, and we generously piled it onto toast! Then came the Wagyu menchi-katsu (a type of croquette), which was hot and juicy, with a wonderfully crispy coating. For the main dish, we could choose from eight different types of meat, which was generous as we could select one more than the number of people. This time, we ordered three varieties: black-haired Wagyu Ranchoso, domestic beef tongue, and black-haired Wagyu sirloin. The Ranchoso had a robust flavor that highlighted the quality of red meat. The tongue had a nice bounce but was easy to bite, making it delicious! The sirloin was absolutely perfect, with melt-in-your-mouth fatty sweetness! It was grilled over wood, adding a wonderful aroma. For the final dish, we could choose from Wagyu Bolognese, Wagyu curry, or Wagyu garlic rice, with the option for seconds. We went with the Wagyu Bolognese. It came with plenty of meat in the sauce, and the noodles were chewy and delicious. The course was quite filling, so we couldn’t order a second helping (sadly). Although the description stated around 100g of meat for each main, I was surprised by the larger portion sizes. The wood-fired cooking not only provided great flavor but also excellent aroma! Next time, I hope to come with a larger group to take advantage of the second helping!

The lunch featuring a 1,500 yen grilled steak bowl is incredibly impactful, with garlic rice topped with a generous serving of omelet, followed by a hearty piece of steak! It's wonderful to enjoy such a large portion of black Wagyu beef at this price. You don't even need to order a double serving, as the volume is already satisfying. The meat is low in fat and has a nice chewiness, releasing umami with each bite. The style allows you to cut the meat yourself with kitchen scissors, so you can choose your preferred size! The omelet has a unique texture, not rolled like the usual ones, and I wonder how it's made—it's reminiscent of an extremely firm chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard). On top of that, soft drinks are all-you-can-drink, making this a fantastic deal! Since there are no vegetables included, this is the perfect choice when you're just craving meat. I ordered a regular size of rice but found it to be quite substantial—so those with smaller appetites should be cautious. Even the regular size felt like about two bowls of rice, and it was a bit tough to finish, but I managed to get through it. Thank you for the meal!

I found a great new restaurant in Nishi-Shinjuku that serves A5 rank black wagyu beef directly from Shibaura, offering fantastic value for a meat-lover's feast. I made a reservation with a friend and decided to walk from Shinjuku, as it’s easily accessible. The stylish, glass-enclosed interior was lively, filled with groups of women and perfect for dates or girls' nights out. Here’s what we enjoyed (prices include tax): - **Goku! Wagyu Shokudo Waigaya Course** at 10,300 yen, which includes a 2-hour drink plan. This meat course features grilled black wagyu with options like filet, sirloin, and tongue. The drink plan can be extended for an additional 500 yen to include sparkling wine and homemade sangria, which I highly recommend. We started with a toast over beer and sparkling wine. - **Seasonal Vegetable Appetizer**: Pickled onions, water eggplant, and okra served with a sauce of olive oil, homemade miso, and tomato. The pickled onions were a refreshing start, preparing our palate for the meat courses. - **Wagyu Carpaccio**: Thinly sliced black wagyu from the inner thigh, prepared in two styles: a Western version with arugula, parmesan cheese, and balsamic sauce; and a Japanese version with sliced onions, green onions, and ponzu jelly. Both were richly flavored and absolutely delicious! - **Wagyu Tartare**: Two types — one seasoned with white miso for a Japanese flair and the other with shallots and mayonnaise for a Western touch. Served on crispy toasted bread, they were addictively good! - **Wagyu Menchi Katsu**: This crispy, juicy meat patty was heavenly and served with tomato sauce. By this point, even a light eater would feel full, but the main course was still to come! - **Selectable Main Dish — Grilled Black Wagyu**: You can pick from eight types of meat including filet, sirloin, ribeye, and more. Since there were two of us, we chose three — filet (100g), ichibo (120g), and rump (120g). Cooked over applewood, the grilling was perfect, and the meat was soft and aromatic. We enjoyed it with wasabi, yuzu pepper, and rock salt. Each cut was exceptional, and I recommend this combination if you prefer lean meat. - **Selectable Ending Dish**: You have the option of wagyu bolognese, curry, or garlic rice, all of which you can reorder. We went for the wagyu bolognese, which was hearty with tender chunks of wagyu. Although we were offered the chance to reorder curry or garlic rice, we were already stuffed! The homemade sangria was particularly delicious, and the bottle was elegantly styled, making it a great choice. The staff kindly checked in with us just before our drinks ran out, which led me to indulge a bit more than planned. The service was excellent, the portions generous, and everything we tasted was truly delightful. I think it would be a lot of fun to visit with a group of four or so hungry friends. I definitely want to go back someday!

I discovered an amazing bistro near Shinjuku Nishiguchi and Nishi-Shinjuku Station, where you can enjoy exquisite wagyu beef! This time, I indulged in a course that encapsulates the charm of the restaurant! ◉ Course Details: 【Extreme! Wagyu Restaurant waigaya Course】 Choose from sirloin, tenderloin, or tongue, plus one additional type of wagyu as the main! Enjoy unlimited refills for the final dish!! This course is a culmination of waigaya's dedication to showcasing wagyu! 【Includes 2-hour all-you-can-drink】 10,300 yen. ☆ Seasonal Vegetable Appetizer: Summer Vegetable Carpaccio with eggplant, okra, and onion pickles. ☆ Two types of Wagyu Tartare. ☆ Two types of Wagyu Carpaccio. ☆ Wagyu Menchi Katsu (pork cutlet). ☆ Choose from three main dishes: Japanese Black Wagyu (tenderloin, rump, or ramposo). ☆ Choose from three options for the final dish (unlimited refills): Wagyu Garlic Rice. The appetizer is a refreshing "Summer Vegetable Carpaccio" that captures the essence of the season, with the unique acidity of the onion pickles being exquisite! From here on, it's all about the meat dishes! The "Wagyu Tartare" offers two versions: one mimicking a Japanese-style nameko and the other with a rich flavor! You enjoy it on thinly sliced toast, and it’s incredibly delicious! It pairs well with white wine. "Wagyu Carpaccio" features thinly sliced wagyu, reminiscent of prosciutto! There’s a Japanese-style version topped with onion slices and a Western-style with cheese, both showcasing excellent umami. "Wagyu Menchi Katsu" has the presentation typical of a quality Western restaurant! The crunchy coating envelops juicy wagyu meat, providing an amazing texture with a delightful tomato sauce that has just the right acidity. For the main course, I selected three cuts from the options: Japanese Black Wagyu (tenderloin, rump, ramposo), prepared with meticulous attention to detail. You can truly savor the refined umami of the wagyu! Enjoy it with salt, wasabi, or other condiments! Each cut is perfect in tenderness, flavor, and aroma, making it incredibly delicious. I enjoyed it paired with red wine. For the final dish, I chose the garlic rice, available in three options and with unlimited refills! The rice had just the right garlic flavor, richness, and a roasted fragrance that was mouthwatering. The restaurant takes great pride in using A5 rank Japanese Black Wagyu directly sourced from Shibaura, which is prepared over wood-burning fire, offering a moist texture and a subtle woody aroma, unlike charcoal grilling. This course, with its content and portion size, was deeply satisfying! The cost-performance is excellent, so if you want to fully enjoy wagyu in Shinjuku, I highly recommend this place! Thank you for the meal!

I visited a restaurant about a 10-minute walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station because I wanted to eat meat. It had a casual vibe, and many customers were coming in after work. I chose the Wagyu Dining course, which included all-you-can-drink. The food came out at a great pace, with almost no waiting time! We could choose from several types of meat (plus one for each person). Since we were two, we selected filet, ribeye, and rump. The rump had a perfect amount of fat and was very good!!! The meal was meat-heavy, and the final dish was a free refill—garlic rice, which was delicious! Overall, the portion sizes were generous; while the appetizers weren't particularly impressive, the volume at this price is quite remarkable.
