On the way to Wakkanai, it became noon in Tomamae... I entered "Shomura Udon" along the national highway. The unpaved parking lot is spacious enough for dozens of cars. I opened the sliding door to the old folk house style building and entered the restaurant. There are 8 seats at the counter, 4 tables in the raised seating area, and a TV showing NHK General. As there were no other customers, I sat at a table with a good view of the TV. On the table, there was a pot of cold water and glasses for self-service. I ordered the "kitsune udon for 550 yen" and it was served in about five minutes. It came with fried tofu and green onions. The udon seemed like commercially boiled noodles, and the broth might also be a commercial product. It was slightly sweet, which is fine, but I wish there was a little more creativity. The cost performance was also not great. Thank you for the meal.

I miss it so much, really nostalgic. That "Shomura Udon" with its unique and gentle kombu broth, full of flavor. And it's cheap. I hope they continue for a long time. Thank you for the delicious meal, thank you.

I stopped by a restaurant on the Oro-ron Line with few customers during lunchtime. I saw a sign for udon noodles and decided to go in. There were only three cars parked outside, which turned out to belong to the owner and staff. I ordered a hot pot udon, but it came with very little noodles and hardly any toppings, priced at 750 yen. The owner's mother was very nice, but I wished they would put more effort into their business since we pay for the food we eat.
