The restaurant offers a wide variety of sake and has a cozy atmosphere. It was my first time visiting, but the food was delicious.

I revisited a hidden gem of a izakaya located off the brick street in Iwamizawa in July 2017. The cozy restaurant has 2 counter seats and 2 tables, with rumors of a second floor as well. The master and mama's smiles are lovely, and the customers are mostly regulars. The food is delicious, especially the garlic rice with plenty of beef and flavorful skewers. The staff recommends sake based on your preference, and I enjoyed the Kame Rei today. The bill came out to around 4500 yen per person, which is reasonable considering the taste and atmosphere. Honestly, I don't want to share this place with too many people. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today was my third visit. It was my first time ordering a course meal. Since I wasn't the organizer, I don't know the price. The meal consisted of 7 dishes in total, with free-flowing drinks for 2 hours. We had small dishes, prosciutto salad, hot pot, steak, ramen, and I forgot the rest. This time, perhaps because we ordered a course meal or because we were known to be a noisy group, we were seated on the second floor for the first time. We were led to a sunken kotatsu table with a low partition, providing a cozy and private space even in a public setting. The lighting was used skillfully, with the dining area bright and the aisle dimly lit. The food looked vibrant, so it didn't seem like they turned off the lights for energy-saving purposes. The hot pot contained fish bones, possibly anglerfish hot pot? It had a lot of gelatinous substance. At first, I thought it was salmon head, but the bones were different, and there was firm meat beneath the gelatin. It was my first time trying anglerfish in Iwamizawa. It's hard to associate April in Hokkaido with anglerfish, but it was delicious. The meal was finished with hot pot ramen, with thin noodles coated in anglerfish broth, and it was quite filling. I had a delicious and enjoyable time. I will definitely visit again when the opportunity arises.
