After descending from Mt. Asahi, I went to Higashikawa Town for lunch. There were many lovely and delicious-looking restaurants to choose from, but I decided on this highly-rated one. It was a retro-style building on the second floor with a charming interior. I arrived early before the opening and was the first in line to enter, but soon the place was packed with customers. It seems to be popular among locals. I ordered the hamburger and grilled vegetable plate, which had good reviews on Tabelog. While waiting, I enjoyed a non-alcoholic beer. The appetizer was a cabbage, basil, and garlic dish, which was a tasty and thoughtful snack. The hamburger plate arrived piping hot and juicy, with a flavorful patty that wasn't too heavy on fillers. The grilled vegetables, especially the thick and sweet pumpkin, were bursting with the essence of seasonal produce. The demi-glace sauce was likely made with plenty of vegetables, so it was surprisingly light and not greasy. The shiny rice was also delicious, as expected from a rice-producing region. Overall, I had a delightful and filling lunch in a stylish setting, with a reasonable bill and friendly staff. I wish there was a place like this in my neighborhood where I could enjoy drinks in the evening too!

It's been a while since I visited. I went with a colleague. I had a 180g hamburger steak and grilled vegetables. I don't remember the exact price since we went yesterday, but I think it was around 1200 yen. The hamburger steak was 250g and it was delicious with a juicy texture. The grilled vegetables were also tasty. My colleague ordered the Napolitan, which also looked delicious. I will definitely come back.

I heard that the vegetables are delicious, so I visited the restaurant. I ordered the summer vegetable hamburger and my husband chose the pork ginger. We were the first customers to arrive, but soon the restaurant was full of people! The vegetables were indeed delicious as expected, and the miso soup had a gentle flavor with a hint of bonito. Thank you for the meal!

I had been curious about this place for a while. The restaurant was extremely crowded, with all seats taken within 30 minutes of opening.
- Service & Atmosphere: The restaurant is located on the second floor and is not very spacious. As a result, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, making the atmosphere somewhat uncomfortable. However, they managed to maintain a friendly demeanor. The interior was quite warm, with poor ventilation and limited sunlight. But as we were leaving, the staff seemed more relaxed and bid us farewell with a perfect smile, apologizing for the earlier rush.
- Food: I ordered the hamburger and grilled vegetables (150g). The rice was plump, moist, and glossy. The miso soup had a gentle, flavorful broth that was comforting. The grilled vegetables were rich and sweet in taste. The meat was crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Each ingredient seemed to be of high quality and was cooked with care. The coffee was average.
- Overall: The delicious dishes reflected the blessings of the Tokawa region. It's a pity that the cramped and busy atmosphere made it hard to relax.

I came here for lunch quite often. However, it was hard to come during the weekends because there were a lot of travelers. The hamburger was very filling and juicy, it was delicious. The coffee was also very good. I bought some as gifts.

I have visited this place 3 to 4 times. I ordered the hamburger lunch set, which allows you to choose between a 150g or 200g hamburger patty. The sizzling hot hamburger arrives at the table on a hot iron plate, made with quality meat that is juicy and flavorful. The demi-glace sauce adds depth to the taste, complementing the hamburger perfectly. The vegetables served as a side dish are also outstanding, with a rich and delicious flavor that may even surpass the hamburger itself. It seems like there are two main dishes on the plate because of how delicious the vegetables are. It is no wonder that the grilled vegetables are one of the popular menu items during dinner time. In addition, you can purchase coffee beans from County, a renowned coffee shop in Kurume and Hakata, Kyushu. County is one of the specialty coffee shops run by the father of barista champion Mr. Isaki, offering coffee beans that are rarely available in Hokkaido. They even use the coffee bean bags to serve coffee at the restaurant, making it a delightful treat for specialty coffee fans. However, there is a technique to brewing the coffee, as it tastes best when made with a French press, so it may take some time to figure out the preferred taste.

In recent years, many cafes have opened in the town of Higashikawa. Among them, this particular shop seems to have been around for at least 5 years, right? It's a popular spot in the center of Higashikawa, in a white two-story building. The first floor is a select shop, and if you open the door on the left side and go up to the second floor, you'll find the shop. It's a place where you can feel the warmth of wood. Although it has a nice atmosphere, the sign and information boards do not say "cafe", but rather "dining room", "cafe", and "bar"! You can have a meal, drink tea, and enjoy alcohol on weekends! I've been here once before and I remember the juicy hamburger being delicious! This time, I will try their most popular dish, the Green Curry (comes with rice and salad) for 900 yen, and I will also have a Coffee Milk for 500 yen (get 150 yen off drinks when ordering a meal or cake)! The Green Curry arrives in about 10 minutes. It has a beautiful color with lots of summer vegetables like zucchini, paprika, mushrooms, eggplant, and shimeji mushrooms. The aroma of coconut is very nice, giving it a creamy feel. The taste is about medium spicy. The locally sourced sautéed vegetables are really delicious! The lettuce and purple cabbage in the salad are also fresh and crunchy! The Coffee Milk has a lot of milk, more than the usual iced latte, and tastes like traditional coffee milk! I arrived around 11:40 am, and after 12 pm, the place started getting busier, showing how popular it is!

At night, does it turn into a bar? There were plenty of stylishly displayed bottles of alcohol. I wonder about the wine and beer. The pork ginger, ginger pork set meal had large pieces of meat, and the ginger sauce had a strong ginger flavor, which I liked. There was also plenty of cabbage, cut into slightly thicker strips. What caught my attention this time was the easy-to-hold dishware, which had a texture that was hard to describe but felt comfortable in my hand. The chopsticks were delicate as well. I thought that it would be fun to have meals every day with such tableware.

Located across from the Tokawa-cho Michi no Eki, the restaurant was packed due to Golden Week. I had to wait in a waiting area for about 10 minutes, where I noticed they also sold wine from a wine cellar. Eventually, I was seated at a large shared table due to the full house. Thankfully, a smaller table opened up and I was moved there. I decided to try the Spring Special: Wasabi Hamburger for 1200 yen. I love wasabi, so I was excited to try it in hamburger form. The dish took a bit of time to arrive due to the busy crowd. The hot hamburger patty was served on a sizzling hot plate with a generous amount of wasabi on top, accompanied by grilled vegetables (lotus root, bell pepper, eggplant, pumpkin). The portion of vegetables could have been a bit more considering the size of the plate. However, the mini salad on the side helped fill me up. I also learned that on weekends, the restaurant operates as a bar in the evening, with a good selection of beer on tap. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
