Shortly after, a plate with toast, fried egg, and shredded cabbage with sesame dressing was brought to me. The toast was fluffy and delicious, generously spread with margarine. It was so tasty that I couldn't get enough of it! I found out that the bread was from Okameya, which explained why it was so good. The opening time was a bit confusing, with different sources stating different times, but it seems they are open early in the morning, which is convenient. When I visited, there were already two customers before the official opening time. The atmosphere was described as having retro music playing, but when I went, they were showing the news on TV. There were also arcade game machines in the store, which added to the nostalgic feel, although the owner mentioned they were not there on purpose. There were also drawings of King Penguins and Adelie Penguins on the wall next to my seat, which were very well done. I ordered the "Morning Set (¥600)" for a good deal, which included coffee and toast. The coffee had a unique sweet and sour aroma, with a light bitterness and a citrusy flavor. The toast was thickly sliced and generously buttered, making it easy to eat. It was suggested that the bread used for the toast might be from another bakery, "Okameya." The bacon and egg dish that followed was satisfying, with a fluffy half-cooked egg, well-cooked bacon, and plenty of shredded cabbage with sesame dressing. The overall breakfast experience was enjoyable, and the owner's warm farewell made a lasting impression. The cafe may not be well-known, but it is a hidden gem for those looking for a cozy place to enjoy breakfast. I recommend giving it a try if you have the chance.

On a certain weekday, I visited a cafe in Chuo Ward, located at Minami 8-jo Nishi 8-chome, which I had never been to before for lunch. The parking lot can accommodate about 3 cars in front of the store, which is convenient given the location. The interior of the cafe is deep, with antique tables and a small counter typical of a cafe, and although smoking is allowed, the air inside is clean when there are no customers. The background music playing is nostalgic 80s Japanese and Western pop songs. On this day, I decided to try the classic Omurice (750 yen) based on recommendations from previous reviewers. After hearing various sounds coming from the kitchen, the dish was served. It was accompanied by a knife and fork. I took a bite... The Omurice had a nicely cooked, thin omelette with a rich ketchup sauce, possibly with a hint of butter. Inside the ketchup rice, I could see small shrimp, carrots, and green onions. Next to it were three delightful pieces of bacon, and the salad was pre-made with a sweet dressing. I finished off with the Wakame soup that was provided. Eating the Omurice in the quiet atmosphere of the cafe while listening to nostalgic music was a pleasant experience. Thank you for the meal.

Regular Sunday morning activity... Walk about 10 minutes west from Nakajima Koen Station to "Urban Kissa," which opens at 7 am on Sundays. Ring the bell at the entrance and the energetic middle-aged female owner greets you with a "Good morning." There are no other customers, so I sit at a table by the window. The interior of the cafe is old-fashioned, which brings a sense of comfort to someone of my generation who remembers those times. I order the "Morning" set for 580 yen (tax included) and my coffee arrives in about 5 minutes. The coffee is a bit thin and lacking in flavor. The set includes toast, bacon and eggs, and salad, which surprisingly has a decent amount of food. The toast is about 2 cm thick with plenty of butter, slightly oily. The bacon and eggs are cooked to a firm half-done, and the salad is mostly cabbage with a generous amount of dressing. As I eat, another customer comes in. They seem like a regular and mention how loud the fireworks were at the "Makomanai Fireworks Festival" last night. The fireworks lasted for about 2 hours, they say. I remember going a few times, and I don't recall them lasting that long. The background music includes Japanese songs from the Showa era and a few Western songs. After about 30-40 minutes of leisurely dining, I bid farewell and thank the owner for the meal.

I have known this shop for a long time. When listening to the conversation between the customer and the shop owner, I found out that this shop has been around for 21 years now. The menu includes 5 types of pilaf, omurice, doria, 5 types of spaghetti, and yakisoba. Since Tomoko is eating Napolitan, I naturally ordered yakisoba for 650 yen. Yes, it's not sauce yakisoba, but soy sauce yakisoba. The generous amount of cabbage and potato salad is delightful. And the half-cooked fried egg is a nice touch. The ingredients in the yakisoba are bacon, cabbage, and onions, with chopped seaweed sprinkled on top of the fried egg. It could be described as a Japanese-style yakisoba. The noodles are thin and soft. I think it would be even more delicious if the noodles were a bit firmer. It would be nice to have some soup or broth as well. Despite a slightly disappointing experience, I hope they continue to do their best and stay in business for a long time!

Neapolitan piled high on a flower plate Oh, Neapolitan with flowers here too! Instead of meat, eggplant stir-fried, a nice touch of innovation. Unusual thin spaghetti, with a tangy ketchup sauce that clings well. The slight sweetness of homemade potato salad, the firmness of the potato left, the smooth texture, the sesame dressing salad that refreshes the sweetened mouth, a good job. The unity of three sauces at the beginning, another good taste ←Hurry up and eat! Another world of non-daily life, hospitality of flowers, healthy Neapolitan, thank you for the meal!
