I happened to have the opportunity to drink Abashiri beer. Overall, it has a mild alcohol content and is easy to drink. The colors of the bottles - blue, green, and red - are vibrant and enjoyable to look at. It makes you want to drink it at the actual location.

In June 2019, while traveling in eastern Hokkaido, I purchased a can of "Abashiri Beer" ice draft. I had received ice draft as a souvenir from a friend who had previously traveled to eastern Hokkaido, and I really liked it, so I decided to buy it again. This evening, I enjoyed it at the hotel. The deep blue color still has a strong impact. It has a light taste and a refreshing finish, and it was delicious. I'm not a fan of beer or lagers in general, but I was totally okay with ice draft. (Please note that this is the opinion of someone who doesn't like beer, so beer enthusiasts may have a different experience.) Thank you for the meal!

Oh my goodness! During my trip to Hokkaido, I received a gift of "Stout (Black) Beer" from Abashiri Beer, a brewery in Abashiri City. I decided to buy two more varieties and try them all together. Abashiri Beer is the northernmost brewery in Japan, located in Abashiri City, Hokkaido. The brewery is known for its "Abashiri Prison Black Beer," inspired by the notorious Abashiri Prison located in the city. The stout beer is made using five types of malt, resulting in a rich yet smooth taste with a caramel malt aroma. It's absolutely delicious and right up my alley! In addition to the Abashiri Prison Black Beer, I also tried the "Drift Ice DRAFT" and "Shiretoko Draft." The Drift Ice DRAFT is a blue-colored beer made using drift ice from Siberia as brewing water. It has a refreshing taste and a unique blue color, reminiscent of the Okhotsk Sea and drift ice. The Shiretoko Draft, on the other hand, is a green-colored beer inspired by the majestic nature of Shiretoko, a World Heritage Site in Hokkaido. It has a fresh taste with hints of greenery, making it a complex and intriguing drink. Overall, Abashiri Beer offers a range of unique and flavorful beers, including the ABASHIRI Premium, Cherry Red, and White Ale. I'm intrigued to try more of their offerings in the future!

It's strange that in Okinawa, in September of this year, there was a Hokkaido Fair held at the only department store Ryubo, as well as at Tokyu Hands in Ginowan. Both events happened at the same time, but the one at Ryubo was bigger. However, during this period, Ginowan City was offering a 20% cashback with PayPay, making the Hokkaido Fair at Tokyu Hands more cost-effective depending on the items being sold. At Tokyu Hands, they were selling beer, including limited edition Sapporo Beer cans and about six types of Abashiri Beer. When comparing the prices after the 20% cashback at Tokyu Hands with the prices on Amazon, it was clear that buying from Tokyu Hands was the better deal. So, let's go ahead and buy 2 cans of each of the 5 types of beer. The types included Abashiri Premium Beer White Ale, Abashiri Prison Black Beer "Kangoku no Kuro," Drift Ice Draft, and Sakura Peach Droplets. I have tried Drift Ice Draft and White Ale during past business trips to Hokkaido, but the three bottled beers were new to me. They all had unique flavors, but as a fan of black beer, I particularly enjoyed "Kangoku no Kuro," the most expensive one. It was lucky to be able to purchase them at such a great deal! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, I went shopping in Abashiri City and in the dry heat typical of Hokkaido, I tried the local beer. I don't usually drink much alcohol, including beer, but I enjoyed it in this climate and atmosphere. The beer had a refreshing taste with not too much bitterness. It was delicious even without any snacks.

Purchased at Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza Sendai store. This was my first time buying Abashiri beer, and when I checked their website, I found out they have other unique craft beers besides the blue drift ice draft, such as the green Shiretoko draft and the red cherry blossom droplet. The description mentioned that the blue color is achieved using natural dye kuchinashi, inspired by the Sea of Okhotsk. It has a refreshing and crisp taste, perfect for a draft beer.

In Sapporo in December, I received a gift of beer from Abashiri City area. It's Abashiri Beer, a local craft beer produced in collaboration with Tokyo University of Agriculture. They brew various types of beer with a connection to the Abashiri region. I tried a few: - Drift Ice Draft: Made with drift ice water, giving it a blue color. It has a nice craft beer vibe and tastes great. - Prison Black: A stout made with five types of malt and long aging process. It's a solid, well-made beer with a rich flavor. - Shiretoko Draft: A fruity beer with green color, inspired by the Shiretoko World Heritage site. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of this one. Overall, I enjoyed the beers and hope they continue to thrive as a local product. I would rate the taste 3.7 stars and overall 4.0 stars. They offer online delivery and are also available as a gift for "hometown tax" donations. Definitely worth a try!

I purchased a 350ml can of "Abashiri Beer Golden Ale" with an alcohol content of 5% for 363 yen at the "Hokkaido Delicious Food Hall" located at the "Odaiba Chuo" intersection in Koto Ward. I poured it into a glass with high hopes for its "golden" taste. The beer uses several types of malt, including malt from Abashiri and Germany, resulting in a rich flavor. It has a refreshing taste with the natural sweetness of malt, and a mild bitterness with hints of citrus peel from the hops.

I would never say "I don't need a beer" and the other person must be thinking the same, so they wouldn't ask "Just one bottle??" This person is not the type to be easily persuaded. If I were to say, "No, thanks," then the beer would be taken away without any hesitation. And when I thought about the price, it was over 550 yen??? Are they making fun of me??? I wouldn't buy it myself, I'm not stingy, but I couldn't bring myself to open it, even though I wanted to share it with my wife when we were both together. But on Sunday, after she finished work later than me, she opened it. I was surprised when she poured it. It was green... not the color of beer. I can't drink this kind of thing, but I felt bad wasting it, so I drank it. It felt a bit naughty. Didn't this company also release blue beer and pink beer? It's a strange company. But it tastes good. It doesn't have much carbonation, but it has a fruity taste. I'm not someone who wants fruity beer, but it was surprisingly delicious. It's expensive, so it must be good. I wouldn't say that, but it's strange that it tasted good even though it's not my usual type.

A blue beer inspired by the Sea of Okhotsk ♬ I received it from a friend. When poured, the beer is blue ♬ When tasted, it has a hop aroma and a slightly sweet, champagne-like scent. It is subtly sweet and has a mature taste. It has a deep blue color, like diluted Prussian blue watercolor paint. It also has a slight acidity. Despite being a sparkling drink, it is not thin but rather a rich type of sparkling drink. The ingredients are malt, hops, and gardenia colorant for the blue color. Even though it has less than 25% malt content and 5% alcohol, it doesn't taste like a typical sparkling drink. It would have been wonderful to toast with this ice craft beer on Halloween last week. It is very delicious ♬

Blog ⇒ [Riding on the Flowing Clouds♪] On September 9th, the government announced that the current state of emergency declaration, which was set to expire on September 12th, will be extended until September 30th. ★ 19 prefectures where the state of emergency declaration will be extended: Hokkaido, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Gifu, Aichi, Mie, Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Okinawa. ■ 8 prefectures where priority measures to prevent the spread will be extended: Fukushima, Ishikawa, Kagawa, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Kagoshima, Miyagi, Okayama. * Miyagi and Okayama will transition from the state of emergency declaration. ▲ 6 prefectures where priority measures to prevent the spread will be lifted: Yamanashi, Toyama, Ehime, Kochi, Saga, Nagasaki. I just can't understand what's going on anymore. My brain doesn't even try to comprehend. It's a unprecedented situation, so finding the right answer is difficult. But is the government really serious about coming up with measures? Even in this emergency, they haven't convened an extraordinary session of the Diet... TV is filled with news about the LDP leadership election. Is Japan really such a hopeless country? It's sad, painful, embarrassing, and shameful. Where should we look and move forward to? It's hard to stand up without a clear goal. At this rate, the economy will collapse completely. Especially the travel and restaurant industries are facing tough times. Since the government isn't helping, we have no choice but to help each other as citizens. So, I will actively support restaurants more than ever. However, this time I will support them in a different way. I will support restaurants by ordering takeout while staying at home. That's why I ordered craft beer from "Abashiri Beer." As the name suggests, this brewery is based in Abashiri, Hokkaido. They produce and sell various types of beer... or rather, beers of various colors lol (a signal light?) Among the 3 types I purchased this time, there was even a blue sparkling beer! It's a vivid blue color inspired by the Okhotsk Sea and drift ice. The brewing water is actually drift ice from the Okhotsk Sea! Oh my gosh! It's an interesting story, but the taste is not bad either. For some reason, it tasted a bit like cider lol The most visually appealing one is the "Drift Ice Draft," but the "White Ale" made with "Kita Honami" is also delicious! It has a wheat-based taste like a Weizen, especially with the hint of coriander seeds. Among them, the one that suited my taste the most was the "Golden Ale." It has a perfect balance of bitterness and richness typical of beer. They blend Abashiri barley malt with German malt, resulting in a deep and flavorful taste. That's why I was convinced by the taste!

These are some stylish souvenirs from Abashiri. First, we have the Drift Ice Draft beer. It has a unique color that might not look very appealing, but it tastes quite good with a hint of hops. You can drink a fair amount of it. Next, we have the Kikime beer, not Kurogoku but Kikime. It's like a black beer. It has a bit of a distinctive taste compared to the Drift Ice Draft. It's fine to drink alongside some food. Thank you for the meal.

This is a refreshing and beautiful blue beer. It had a fruity taste, somewhat like lychee. The more I drank, the more delicious it seemed. It goes well with rich, heavy foods. On this day, I enjoyed it with some chicken karaage, which added to the satisfaction.

On July 6, 2020 (Monday) around 8:30 PM, I was drinking "Abashiri Beer Drift Ice Draft" that I received from an acquaintance, even though it was a Monday. Perhaps because the next day was a holiday? The can says it uses drift ice from the Sea of Okhotsk! It is brewed with the winter tradition of Abashiri, the "drift ice," as brewing water. The beer is a deep blue color and it reminded me of Christmas when I poured it into a wine glass to enjoy the color. Depending on the light, it looks like a beautiful blue! It has a light taste, refreshing and easy to drink. In terms of flavor, it might feel a bit lacking for serious drinkers, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. By the way, I had sashimi as a snack on that day. I found Abashiri Beer on Tabelog and left a review.

Hello, I'm Chi from the "Other Reviewers" team. I knew that there was blue beer. I found it at a certain store, bought it, and ended up drinking it without warming it up (^^; It was an easy-to-drink beer without any strong taste.

August 2021 Purchase, Posted on September 24th (All information is from the time of visit) (Prices include tax) In August, I encountered a Hokkaido Fair at Aeon Takatsuki. There were many beers being sold, so I ended up buying 3 bottles. However, I am currently taking medication and avoiding alcohol, so it took me a while to finally finish them. - Abashiri Beer "Prison Black" ¥597 A black beer brewed with the image of Abashiri Prison. Made with carefully selected 5 types of malt, it has a rich aroma and a high-quality stout finish. It has a deep richness, a smooth taste, and the fragrant aroma of caramel malt spreads in your mouth. - Abashiri Beer "Shiretoko Draft" ¥545 Expressing the "fresh green of spring" in Shiretoko, a World Heritage Site, with a clear green color and aroma. It is a sparkling beer that allows you to enjoy a new aroma. - Abashiri Beer "Droplet of Cherry Blossoms" ¥545 Abashiri is Japan's northernmost cherry blossom growing area. Made with abundant and fragrant cherries from Abashiri, enjoy the fruity sweetness and refreshing aroma. They were each unique and delicious. In the future, there may be Hokkaido product exhibitions at department stores, so this could be helpful. - *For a blog version with clearer photos, please take a look here: (link)

Do you all participate in hometown tax payment? The Heidi family decided to try it out, thinking it would be a waste to just pay taxes from their modest salary. Last year, they made a tax payment to Abashiri City in Hokkaido. The amount was only 10,000 yen, but it varies depending on income level. As a thank you for the tax payment, they received local beer "Abashiri Beer" as a gift. They received a set of 8 bottles, including: "Shiretoko Draft" - a green beer with a rich aroma, "Drift Ice Draft" - a clear blue beer with a refreshing taste, "Cherry Blossom Droplet" - a fruity pink cherry beer, "Prison Black" - a smooth and flavorful black beer inspired by Abashiri Prison, and "Premium" - a well-balanced beer with roasted barley malt from Abashiri. These unique beers, not available from major breweries, made them appreciate the depth of local beer. They were satisfied with the refreshing taste and enjoyed the experience.

At the Takashimaya Nagoya 10th floor event space, the first part of the Great Hokkaido Exhibition is being held. This marks the 20th anniversary of the event. A woman was seen holding a tray for beer tasting, which caught my interest. I found this shop where you can try 4 types of draft beer for 1,000 yen. The selection includes: "Ryuhyo Draft," "Cherry Blossom Droplets," "Golden Ale," and a Takashimaya Nagoya exclusive draft beer. The Nagoya Takashimaya exclusive beer is rich and flavorful. The Ryuhyo Draft is refreshing and easy to drink. Cherry Blossom Droplets have a hint of cherry aroma. It was a fruity and enjoyable beer. I drank it all by myself and ended up feeling quite content. Bon appétit!

I went to an event called "Niku★Stadium" held at the 8th floor event space of Hiroshima Mitsukoshi. As a beer lover, I started with a beer tasting from "Abashiri Beer." There were four different beers to try. "Drift Ice Draft" made from drift ice in the Okhotsk Sea was refreshing as described. "Golden Ale" had a citrusy aroma from using two types of hops. "Shiretoko Draft" had a hint of matcha scent, which was quite noticeable. "Droplet of Cherry Blossom" is a cherry beer made from cherries, quite sweet and dessert-like. My favorite among the four was the "Drift Ice Draft." It has a unique flavor, so preferences may vary.
