2023-46&47th Cup (February 25&26) ⭐Wafu Shoyu x2 @ Ramen Tetsushi 4-9-2 Kozono, Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture Nearest Station: Shonai Station - 15 minutes walk Closed on Thursdays Business Information Announcement on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ramentetsushi Tetsushi TP 3.71 (217 reviews; +18.8 reviews/month) Osaka Prefecture 70, Toyonaka City 3 [TP 3.71 (142 reviews; +2.4 reviews/month) around October 2022, Osaka Prefecture 75, Toyonaka City 3] 2023/2 Sunday night - About 4 months since the last visit 24th & 25th Cup During a visit home from Fukui, Ishi N-san organized a Tetsushi gathering with the entire restaurant reserved for a grand feast with 15 people. The food and drinks included: - Appetizers - Salad (daikon, spring onion, sunny lettuce, homemade potato chips) - Chicken wing tempura - Mita pork chashu - Pork tempura - Jajang tofu - Toro rolled in leek - Garlic chives and liver - Oyster mapo tofu - Cream cheese crackers - Tender pork cartilage stew - Snow peas - Stir-fried spring cabbage and red pepper mapo - Wafu shoyu x2 - Heartland beer - Highball Each person paid separately, and my bill was ¥9300. The Chinese-inspired creative dishes were all incredibly delicious, focusing more on stamina than healthiness. The oyster mapo tofu was outstanding. The ramen at the end was so delicious that I had two servings. The Wafu shoyu ramen had a soup base of chicken and seafood, with added fish broth and chicken oil. It was undeniably "Japanese-style" as described, but in my drunken state, I could only respond with "The lard's crispy flavor is amazing!" even though there was supposedly no pork in it. The chicken oil was incredibly flavorful. Despite my inability to analyze the flavors properly, it was undeniably delicious. The homemade noodles, about 1.5mm square cross-section straight thin noodles, had a satisfying chewiness and a fragrant wheat flavor that paired perfectly with the soup. The subtle flavors of the soup and noodles complemented each other beautifully. The chashu, menma, nori, and white leeks were all top-notch. The thin and rich menma also matched perfectly, making it an extremely delicious dish that I would enjoy even when sober. Summary: Visits: 23 dinners, 1 lunch Ratings: Dinner - 4.98, Lunch - 4.5 Expenses: Dinner - ¥4120 on average, Lunch - ¥1300 Favorite Dishes (Noodles): Various ramen dishes rated 5.0, including duck steamed basket-style tsukemen, sesame spicy tsukemen, and more.

Since early July, I visited Ramen Teshi in Shonai on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, for lunch in the mood for tsukemen. I arrived at 11:30 and was the third person in line. I ordered and received my tsukemen at 11:53. I paid at 12:07 and left. I had the Maruchou soy sauce tsukemen with 400g of noodles and chicken yakitori as toppings, totaling 1600 yen. It had been a while since I had Teshi's tsukemen, and I was happy to see they had two options to choose from. I went with the Maruchou, and it was delicious as always. The noodles were great, and the Maruchou dipping sauce was fantastic. The chicken yakitori topping, a specialty here, was also very tasty. I left feeling completely satisfied once again. Thank you for the meal. #RamenTeshi #Teshi #Shonai

This time, the plum cutting was sold out, so I got the "400g serving." I've mentioned the serving size a few times, so I'll skip it this time. Delicious! (laughs) Two appetizers: first, grilled chicken liver, bonito, eel liver, and pickled mustard greens. If you're a drinker, this is perfect for drinking lots of alcohol. The eel liver has a slight bitterness, but also a lot of umami. Delicious! The pickled mustard greens are also amazing! You can easily eat three bowls of rice with this. Second dish: stir-fried bean sprouts with mushrooms. I've been really into bean sprouts lately. The crunchy bean sprouts, chewy mushrooms, and firm texture of the bean sprouts are all great. It disappeared in no time!

I ordered the summer limited edition "Mori" for the first time, which costs ¥1200. The noodles in Mori are thin noodles that you dip in the noodle soup. The noodle soup was a bit ordinary, like store-bought noodle soup, and I personally prefer thick noodles for tsukemen, so that's why I gave this rating. However, the smooth texture of the noodles makes it easy to eat and it's a perfect limited menu for the hot summer. The default toppings of kakiage and anago tempura were delicious, crispy, and freshly fried!

Summer menu "Mori" at Umekiri Men-Tetsu is a summer menu created by Tetsushi, who used to be the head chef at Men-Tetsu. "Umekiri" is Tetsushi's summer menu, featuring noodles with plum paste, topped with a light Chinese salt soup and crunchy jellyfish. The dish is finished with a refreshing dashi broth poured over it, creating a cold dashi tea with crispy fried noodles for a delightful and delicious experience.

Continuing from last time, I brought my friends to this place where I could eat noodles. I could eat these noodles over and over again (laughs). The light and smooth noodles go down my throat easily, and the chunks of yuzu pepper occasionally give a sharp sensation in my nose, but that's also good! I heard that another type of summer noodles will start soon, so I'm looking forward to it.

Soy sauce-based ramen at Men Tetsu is cool and incredibly delicious! I ordered a large bowl (400g) with toppings such as conger eel tempura, Omi black chicken tempura, chicken yakitori, an assortment of toppings chosen by the chef, extra tempura flakes, and a side of small white rice. The owner used to be the manager of Men Tetsu branch Men Yaro (now closed), and opened his own shop in August 2016. This visit was my first in four years, and last time I had the Tetsushi Noodle (Nissin Cup Noodle homage).

From the direction of Esaka towards Sonoda on the Inner Circular Line, if you head south on the Hamano intersection Kanzaki Tonezan Line, you will find Ramen Tetsushi. When I passed by in my car, I noticed no one waiting outside despite it being around noon. I quickly parked in a coin parking lot and entered the restaurant. Inside, there was only one customer sitting at the counter. I decided to order the hot Ramen with meat and soy sauce wontons, as it was too hot outside. While the first customer ordered the classic Tetsushi Special, I opted for the hot soup ramen with meat and soy sauce wontons. The combination of soy sauce and wontons was excellent, and the chashu was traditional yet showed signs of experimentation and research. It was delicious.

I visited my favorite restaurant in Toyonaka City in search of a unique dish that can't be found elsewhere. I ordered the limited-time "summer special" dish. The homemade noodles were slurp-worthy, with a slightly sweet broth. Dipping the noodles in the broth and slurping them up was delightful! I also added an eel tempura and a beef steak as extra toppings. The eel tempura was crispy and delicious, with a generous portion, and the beef steak was tender and juicy. It was truly an entertaining dining experience. Exciting and delicious!

Here comes the summer menu! "Mori" - I have to eat this every year to welcome the summer. Recently, they installed a noodle-making machine, so now they make their own noodles in the restaurant. I heard that they used to go to their master's shop to make noodles, but now they make them in their own shop. This is my first time trying the noodles made in their own shop! The noodles are thinner now, and they have a good texture that slurps up easily. Before I knew it, they were all gone!

Tuesday's lunch was at "Ramen Teshi" in Shonai. It was the start of their "Mori" event on July 4, 2023. I headed to "Ramen Teshi" in Shonai, looking forward to it. I arrived at 12:16 and managed to secure one of the last two seats. I ordered my food and the "Mori" dish arrived at 12:38. I paid the bill at 12:51 and left the restaurant. The "Mori" dish cost 1200 yen, the noodles (400g) cost 100 yen, an eel tempura cost 600 yen, and chicken yakitori cost 250 yen, making the total 2150 yen. As the weather was getting hotter, I was expecting the "Mori" dish to be served soon. The noodles for the "Mori" dish are really delicious. I went all out with the toppings, including eel tempura and chicken yakitori, and everything was delicious and satisfying. Summer is starting. During the "Mori" event, I always worry about running out of sauce, so maybe 300g of noodles would be better. Of course, you can always order extra sauce! #RamenTeshi #Shonai

It's been a month since I last visited "Ramen Toshifumi" on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. For lunch on Tuesday, I arrived at "Ramen Toshifumi" in Shonai at 11:53. There were empty seats available, so I sat down, placed my order, and received my tsukemen at 12:01. I paid the bill at 12:12 and left the restaurant. I quickly decided on the Marucho Shoyu Baka Tsukemen from the two options on the menu. The tsukemen was priced at 1250 yen, with an additional 100 yen for extra noodles and 250 yen for grilled chicken. The total came to 1600 yen. The noodles at Toshifumi were as delicious as always, and I enjoyed them plain before dipping them in the flavorful Marucho-based dipping sauce. It was truly a fantastic meal. Thank you. #RamenToshifumi #Shonai

Lunch on Tuesday at "Ramen Tetsushi" on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. I was in the mood for their dipping noodles, so I visited "Ramen Tetsushi" again this month. I arrived at 12:13 and there were only a few seats left. I ordered and the dipping noodles arrived at 12:36. I paid at 12:47 and left. I tried the Japanese-style white soy dipping noodles, which cost 1200 yen, with an extra 100 yen for 400g of noodles and 250 yen for grilled chicken. The total was 1550 yen. I was curious about the "Asoko no Are" that I saw in a review, and the owner, Mr. Kai, explained that it was inspired by the dipping sauce from the now-closed Men Tetsuji branch, Men Noro. It had been four years since I last tried it, and as always, it was delicious. The noodles from Tetsushi were enjoyable on their own, and the dipping sauce, with its light white soup base, was full of flavor and very tasty. It was dangerously delicious, and I'm glad I was able to visit. Thank you for the meal. #RamenTetsushi #Shonai

Shimacho Chinese soba with rice. Whenever I come here, I always end up ordering this menu! It's just so delicious. The flavor is already great even without rice, but it's even better when paired with white rice! Maybe I just really like rice, but thanks for the meal tonight.

Today, despite it being just before Golden Week, it was a little chilly. While on my way for work, I found a ramen shop. I parked my car near Tetsushi and entered the shop. The interior was not very spacious, and it was quiet. I ordered the "Shoyu Ramen" (700 yen). When the ramen was brought to me, I tried the soup. It was shockingly delicious. The broth, which I think was chicken-based, had a pleasant amount of soy sauce. The chashu was also tasty, and the noodles were chewy and very good. I found another great restaurant. It was truly delicious.

This is my visit since 3/6. "Ramen Tetsushi" on Wednesday, 4/12/2023. Unfortunately, it's drizzling. For Wednesday's lunch, I went to "Ramen Tetsushi" aiming for the limited Honbinosu ramen. I arrived at 12:15 and managed to get the last seat at the counter. I ordered. At 12:33, the tsukemen arrived. Honbinosu clam salt tsukemen (400g) for 1500 yen. It had the biggest Honbinosu clams I've ever seen, two big ones. When it was served, I was surprised. The clam broth was rich and the light and delicious dipping broth was full of umami. Of course, Tetsushi's noodles were delicious as always. I finished with a soup wari (soup refill) and left fully satisfied. Thank you for the meal. #RamenTetsushi #Shonai

Hello ♪ It's Ramen Walking! Today, I visited Ramen Tetsushi in Shonai and had their "Honbinosu clam salt tsukemen". Since my family was not around, I decided to dine alone. I wanted to challenge myself by visiting a restaurant that is difficult to access due to distance and operating hours. I arrived at 19:10 and there were 3 customers already inside. I ordered the Honbinosu clam salt tsukemen for 1,400 yen. Soup: The dipping sauce had a salt base with a strong clam flavor. It tasted good when mixed with the noodles, but drinking the sauce alone was a bit difficult due to the strong peppery spiciness. Overall, I found the soup to be okay. Noodles: The noodles were thin and chewy. They weighed around 300g. The noodles paired well with the dipping sauce, but they tended to stick together after boiling, making it a bit challenging to dip them in the sauce. Toppings: The dish came with 2 Honbinosu clams soaked in the sauce. It's recommended to remove the shells before eating for easier consumption. Despite high expectations from reading positive reviews, I personally found this tsukemen to be mediocre. However, I believe other seasonal dishes like oyster tsukemen in winter would be delicious. I appreciate Ramen Tetsushi for their unique and innovative approach to using new ingredients. Thank you for the meal!

The regular menu is limited, but the limited items are attractive. Today, I ordered the Honbinosu clam salt dipping noodles, but I didn't know what Honbinosu clams were until I looked them up on Wikipedia. The dipping noodles came with a strong clam flavor, with the broth almost completely filled with Honbinosu clams, making it a bit challenging to figure out where to dip the noodles. Despite its simple appearance, the broth was packed with the savory taste of the clams, creating a unique salt dipping noodle experience. Honbinosu clams resemble clams in appearance, but they have a wild and chewy texture, which added to the overall deliciousness of the dish.

After a long time, I visited a ramen restaurant, "Ramen Tetsushi," on Monday, March 6, 2023. It had been 12 days since my last ramen visit on February 23. The lunch at the beginning of the week was at "Ramen Tetsushi." There were other menu options besides the ones displayed, so I was looking forward to it. I arrived at 11:45 and there were only a few empty seats. I ordered and at 12:00, the tsukemen arrived. I decided on the Oyster Salt Tsukemen immediately after being recommended by Mr. Kai when I sat down. The Oyster Salt dipping broth was rich and full of umami, with the oysters in March being large and delicious. Adding extra oysters made it a fantastic oyster feast. The noodles were also delicious and satisfying as always. Thank you for the meal. #RamenTetsushi #Shonai

This is my first limited edition ramen hunt of the year. Visited "Ramen Tetsushi" on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. It was my first visit of the year. The Akasen sign was hidden, but when I asked, they said they could make it, which made me happy. Arrived at 11:35. Seats available. Ordered at 11:45. Received the tsukemen. Shimacho salt tsukemen (motsunabe style) with mochi and rice on the side for 1350 yen. Noodles 400g for 100 yen. Akasen simmered dish for 400 yen. Total 1850 yen. The salt tsukemen packed with Shimacho flavor was delicious as always. The toppings like cabbage, green onions, and mochi were fantastic. Even though the Akasen simmered dish wasn't on the menu, I asked and they said they could make it for one serving, so I ordered it. It was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the best. I will visit regularly this year. Thank you for the meal. #RamenTetsushi #Shonai

I felt anxious about whether the coin parking was still open, so I double-checked before entering. Anyway, this is Tetsushi. You can tell from the name, right? He is from Men Tetsu. I hadn't been there yet... The ramen is delicious. The noodles are smooth and chewy, but they still have a strong noodle flavor. The noodles are wonderful. The soup is also delicious. The shop apparently closes around 10 o'clock. Oh, I want to change my phone.
