I ordered the menu ☆ Vodka Tonic ☆ Gin Tonic. I entered the restaurant after 9:30 PM without having to wait in line. I sat at the counter, and although it seemed a bit intimidating at first, it seems like a great place for regulars. Thank you for the meal! Doshima Sanboa, thank you very much!

I had a highball and a mojito. For the highball, I requested it without ice and specified the brand - I went with Suntory. When making the mojito, the bartender crushed the mint leaves which released a pleasant aroma. The drink had plenty of mint and the taste and aroma were perfect. I wanted to order a fruit cocktail as well, but remembered my tight budget and decided against it.

This place has the worst hospitality, but it is said to be the oldest in Sanbo. It's a bit strange that the chairs are facing the counter. When you order a highball, they ask what kind of alcohol you want, which is a hassle. Other than that, everything is normal. It's a place worth visiting at least once.

I finally went to the place I had been wanting to visit. The atmosphere was great, and the cocktails were made according to my preferences, both of which exceeded my expectations in terms of taste. However, it was a bit disappointing that there were no chairs at the counter, and the response when asking about the cocktails was somewhat indifferent, which I assume is part of the authentic bar experience.

I can't drink alcohol because I'm not good at it, but I decided to try visiting a top bar instead of the usual izakaya (Japanese pub) to save some money. I arrived around 21:35 and the place was about half full. I sat on a chair near the wall and asked for a recommendation since I didn't know what to order. They didn't have any recommendations, so I ended up ordering Ballantine's Scotch Whisky with soda. It didn't suit my taste as it was too bitter. I also ordered salami sausage as a snack, which was really good. I then ordered a cheese platter, which was also delicious. I managed to finish my drink and snacks, paid 3410 yen in cash, and left. The atmosphere was nice, but it was a bit disappointing that smoking was allowed.

I visited "Samboa" in Osaka, a city known for its gourmet food. This bar was selected as one of the Top 100 Bars on Tabelog in 2022. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station on the JR Tozai Line. Nestled in a brick-like hideaway off Doshimanaka Street, the interior exudes a historic and antique atmosphere for adults. This authentic bar, famous for its highball, has been open since 1947. The name of the bar is said to have been named by the novelist Junichiro Tanizaki. The name "Samboa" is said to have originated from the Portuguese word "ZAMBOA," with the "Z" reversed to create "SAMBOA," or it could have been a mistake by a sign maker who accidentally used an "S" instead of a "Z." Today, I tried the Mojito cocktail. With the fresh scent of mint and the citrusy tang of lime, it was a refreshing and easy-to-drink cocktail. The Mojito, a cocktail originating from Cuba, is known for being a sweet drink with plenty of sugar when consumed locally. I enjoyed the moist and sophisticated atmosphere. This is Bar Hyakumeiten at Kitashinchi, Osaka, established by the founder of the Sanboa lineage, Okanishi Milk Hall. I visited shortly after opening on a Saturday around 4 pm for a pre-dinner drink. The standing counter has a dignified presence. I sat on a chair since I was with someone. The famous highball here comes without ice. Sanboa continues to watch over Kitashinchi with grace. I was truly captivated. Thank you for the meal.

Tonight, I finished work early and felt like having a light drink by myself. I ended up here. Established in 1918, Dojima Sanbo. The historic interior always gives me a sense of calm. Similar to Ginza Rockfish, they serve a highball without ice. I feel the history while enjoying a drink and relieving the fatigue of the day. Cheers. Mmm, delicious!!

Dotonbori Sanboa. A bar I've always wanted to visit. Finally made it here. Having drinks with my comrades who will carry on after me. Feeling quite drunk today... Feels like I've had a lifetime's worth of highballs and sweet potato shochu, and now another highball... But this is really goodbye... Work will surely go on even without me, it'll be fine. I've entrusted the rest to them.

Zamboa is a BAR located near the intersection of Doshimanaka-dori and Nishisuzu, within a 5-minute walk from JR Kitashinchi Station. The classic and sophisticated brick exterior stands out in the somewhat quiet area. Zamboa is a long-established BAR group that has been in business for over 90 years, with over 10 locations in Tokyo as well. There is no dress code, and the prices are reasonable, making it a perfect introductory spot. One of their famous drinks is the Highball, made by lightly mixing cold carbonated water with whiskey without ice. They also offer cocktails at affordable prices, allowing customers to try different options. The retro atmosphere and the relaxed BAR ambiance provide a luxurious experience of "luxury of time". I ordered an Ardbeg Highball, which is a Scottish single malt whiskey from Islay with a strong peaty aroma. It is a unique drink that clearly shows its characteristics. Another recommendation is the Manhattan cocktail, a whiskey-based drink mixed with vermouth, offering a balance of alcohol and sweetness. Spending time exploring and discovering your preferences slowly is enjoyable, and comparing drinks with other establishments can be interesting. If you are interested in such experiences, Zamboa is the perfect starting point.

Around 7:00 pm on a regular day, less than a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station. My husband recommended it to me as one of the Kagurazaka places. When I thought of Sanbo in Asakusa, I found out there was one in Dojima as well. And then I learned that it originated in Kobe. While learning all this from Google, I arrived at a brick-built standalone building in the elegant entertainment district of Kitashinchi. Established in 1934, the building was renovated in 1955. The entrance has a counter on the left and a few chairs facing the wall on the right. There are two 4-seater tables in the back. The meticulously maintained interior is lit subtly. We were greeted by the master and a young staff member, and smoking is allowed. We chose to sit at a table along the wall. Our orders were as follows: Gin and Tonic, Rum and Soda, Highball (x2), Chocolate (500 yen), and probably a table charge (which may not apply if seated at the counter). The young staff member took our order with care. It's usually Gin and Tonic for the first drink at a new bar. I can't remember the brand of gin, but it was well-known. The charm was peanuts, and the chocolate we received was probably Kiss Chocolate. For the second drink, we had the famous Highball with Suntory's Kakubin. The master's refined movements were mesmerizing. The glass with the initials of the bar name etched on it was also lovely. The drink came without ice, with a strength equivalent to a double. It had a calm, solid taste. I couldn't help but compare it to the highballs at Matsuyama's Tsuyuno-kuchi, which is said to be the birthplace of the Highball. It's amazing how you can relax and enjoy a delicious drink with just the right atmosphere. It's something that seems common but is actually quite rare. Perhaps it was also because the other customers that day were all wonderful gentlemen. This was truly a wonderful place, and I now feel like visiting other Sanbo locations or different bars. I wanted to visit Sanboa-san. It was located very close to Kita-Shinchi, so I didn't have any trouble finding it. When I entered, it felt quite new to me, and the seating arrangement was unique. I ordered a highball, and it was quite strong without any ice, giving off a very authentic vibe.

A rare group causing a commotion at the bar. It's lively in Kita-Shinchi. The atmosphere is calm with a cool master and two young staff members. There are tables and standing room at the counter. It's a bit spacious. I had a highball - the classic no-ice square highball. It's stable and delicious. I only had one because I had plans afterwards. Cards are not accepted, cash only.

Since it was after the party, I asked for a citrus-based alcohol with less alcohol content. It was a refreshing cocktail with an orange base and carbonation, easy to drink and delicious. It seemed like a place to visit with two or more people, not alone. Thank you for the meal.

The smokiness of Yoichi's highball single malt is enhanced by the carbonation. I was almost tempted to order a 10-year-old, but the bartender gently reminded me that there is also regular Yoichi available. The place was lively with chatty old men. It got crowded, so I had just one drink and left.

This shop, located about a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi, is one of the larger Sanboas in the area, with many salarymen coming in groups. There are fewer people dining alone compared to other shops, and it gives off a lively atmosphere. When ordering a Highball or a fruit cocktail (orange), they don't ask which whiskey you prefer, but I chose Hakushu. The fruit cocktail was sweeter than expected. It's a lively place, perfect for a quick visit. I would like to revisit if I have the chance.
