I went to Honami Marche for the first time! The store had a lot of vegetables like tomatoes, shishito peppers, and super spicy wasabi leaves. The prices were really cheap. I bought some shishito peppers and tomatoes. I tried the shishito peppers which had a moderate spiciness and went really well with beer. The super spicy wasabi leaves were extremely hot, but delicious when marinated in soy sauce. I made the soy sauce the day before and let it sit in the fridge overnight. It turned out great! The tomatoes were fresh and tasty. Overall, I had a great meal with fresh and affordable vegetables.

"Makubetsu Ichigoen" was closed when I visited. This always seems to happen when I go with my wife. It's a bit concerning, but it's not a complete shutdown. It's in Satsunai, Makubetsu Town. I remembered there was a market nearby earlier, so we turned back. There was an accident at the intersection close by, a strange one. One light car crossed the median and stopped after running 15 meters, while another seemingly undamaged light car was parked next to it. An ambulance was taking someone away, with police and others standing around. Half of the market space is now dedicated to vegetables. Right now, asparagus is the main attraction. They should hurry up and harvest it, the timing seems off. I bought "Inca no Mezame" for 250 yen, so it was cheap. There were even some sprouted ones. Maybe I could use them as seed potatoes. The next day, I made a delicious beef stew with them. It might sound like bragging, but Inca potatoes are just so tasty. Please forgive me for not having any photos.
