I drank and ate at Fujirin, then went to this bar where the master is cool and the atmosphere is great, very relaxing. I was recommended GlenDronach Cask Strength and enjoyed the sherry aroma. Blissful. After drinking, Otaru at dawn is fantastic, with the canal and sea looking surreal and wonderful!

I felt like casually going out for a drink so I visited this place for the first time. This bar mainly offers official brand bottles of whiskey. I tried some classic malts and cocktails, and they were delicious. There were also regular customers coming in, giving the vibe that this place is loved by locals.

Category: Favorite Izakayas (Hokkaido and Tohoku) Today, I went on a solo trip to an izakaya in Otaru. After enjoying the izakaya "Fujirin," I headed to the counter at "TAKI'S BAR." I started with a refreshing and delicious gin and tonic. It tasted even better after having some sake. I was happy to find a bar near Otaru Station, as I thought I would have to walk all the way to Hanazono for one. Next, I decided to try a Big Peat whiskey, which was strong and smoky, perfect for enjoying straight. Lastly, I ordered a martini, a simple cocktail that always tastes better at a bar. I had a great time with cocktails and whiskey. Now, it's time to head to a karaoke snack. Thank you for the wonderful experience, "TAKI'S BAR" in Otaru, Hokkaido. Open on weekdays from 19:00 to 2:00, Saturdays and holidays from 19:00 to 24:00, closed on Sundays.

We decided to have Italian food and then go to another place for drinks. I was asked to choose a place, and they said they would prepare for the third round as well. So, we went to this restaurant called TAKI'S BAR, near the Italian place. My friend from Otaru was so impressed, saying "I didn't know about this place!" When we entered, it had a nice atmosphere. There were 10 seats at the counter and 2 tables. We sat at the counter near the entrance. We started with a drink - I had the Taketsuru 17 years, my friends had the Moscow Mule and the Salty Dog with watermelon. I then had the Macallan 12 years. Each of us had two drinks, and the total bill was in the 7,000 yen range, which was great. We also got some local information. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

On March 10, 2018, it was my first visit to Naruto and I didn't eat or drink much, so I had some extra money in my wallet. My wife said she wanted to go to a place where we could drink Nikka Whisky since we were staying in Otaru. Not knowing any place like that, I had to rely on Tabelog to find a suitable restaurant. The place we found was TAKI'S BAR, located within a 10-minute walk from Naruto. From the outside, it looked like a nice place, and my expectations rose as we entered. The master seemed to be running the bar alone. It was a small bar with only a counter seat and one table seat. There were many whisky bottles lined up, and the slightly dim interior had a wonderful atmosphere. They had a wide selection of Nikka Whisky, which was perfect for my wife's request. I'm not very knowledgeable about whisky, so I'm not sure about the brands. I had a few glasses of the recommended Nikka straight. It had been a while since I had enjoyed whisky properly, and I hadn't had much opportunity to drink Nikka, but I was impressed by how delicious it was. The master explained a lot to us and was very knowledgeable about whisky. He mentioned a rare whisky that he doesn't serve to regular customers, but when I heard it was 5,000 yen per glass, I hesitated and avoided it for now. It's a nice place to relax, and the conversation with the master was enjoyable. I really liked it, and my wife became a fan instantly. I would love to visit again when we play in Otaru. We found a great restaurant! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I walked through the back alleys relying on the Tabelog navigation from JR Otaru Station. Since Yoichi is close by, I decided to try a rare Nikka sake called "Yoichi Distillery Limited Single Cask Original Sake 20 Years". The staff mentioned that it's a hard-to-find brand, and it was indeed delicious. The first drink was a strong one, so for the second round, I went with a Mojito. I really liked the atmosphere of the place and their commitment to quality sake. I was not in a condition to drink much for the third round, so I hope to visit again when I'm feeling better next time.

After enjoying seafood at Ootomi-san, we decided to head to this place for a whiskey at the bar before heading back to the hotel. A friend searched for a place we could stop by on our way back, and we ended up at this establishment. The exterior, standing in the snow, looked quite charming. It was around 8:40 PM when we entered, and there were no other customers. We took a seat at the counter where bottles of Nikka whiskey were displayed. Before ordering our final whiskey, we started with a Gin Rickey to reset. The master mentioned that they take pride in their whiskey more than their shaking skills. Now, what whiskey should we try next? When asked about unique and rare whiskeys, the recommendation was the "2000's Yoichi." Since Yoichi single malt whiskey is no longer being produced, this is a special opportunity to try it. We opted for a straight pour with a chaser. The aroma was surprisingly soft, with a slight sweetness amidst the bitterness, and a clean finish. The balance was excellent, and the chocolate snack paired well. We also heard about other recommended whiskeys, as the staff is quite knowledgeable about Nikka whiskeys, given the proximity to Yoichi. We even discussed the Casiopea train we took to get here, and before we knew it, an hour had passed. When we checked the bill, it came out to 2,250 yen per person. We're not sure if there was a cover charge, but it was quite affordable. It was a great way to end our evening in Otaru. Thank you for the hospitality.

On a business trip to Otaru after a long time, I decided to visit a whisky bar. As I opened the door, I was greeted by many bottles of amber-colored whiskies. The view was so beautiful that it made me sigh. I told the owner my preferences and asked for recommendations, and started with a Yoichi on the rocks. Due to its popularity in dramas, they ran out of the base spirit and stopped selling it last month. It made me appreciate the taste even more, wondering how long I can still enjoy it. I thought the bar had been around for a long time judging by the atmosphere and the owner's demeanor, but it turns out they have been open for less than a year. I asked if it was difficult at first with such a wide selection of whiskies, and they said most of them were already in stock, showing their deep love for whisky. It's impressive to see someone turn their hobby into such a wonderful bar. For my second drink, I tried the Lagavulin on the rocks, which the owner likes. It was my first time experiencing such a strong smoky aroma, sweetness, and a lingering aftertaste, making me appreciate the depth of whisky once again. Discovering such a lovely bar is one of the delights of traveling. I'll make sure to study more about whisky before my next visit!

Welcome! In July 2015, I walked through the back alley of Nagasaki-ya in front of JR Otaru Station in the Inaho district of Otaru City, just to see the flower garden... Next to Shunkaen, a soba restaurant. Before heading back, I was recommended to have a drink at Gachon by the master of Tsuki♪ The dimly lit interior of the bar with whiskey-colored lighting behind the counter is lovely. It's quite a unique bar that opens at 5 pm... The French whiskey "05" with a number on the upper shelf, but isn't it special? I wanted to write it by hand. I didn't know what to drink at the counter with a variety of whiskeys lined up... "I'm a whiskey beginner!" Let's be honest. I got a watered-down 10-year-old Yoichi recommended by Nikka. The charm is dry mango, not so much with fresh mango, but when it's dried, it's different. I'm picky when it comes to food... The acoustics in the bar are amazing, with vocal-centric songs that make you feel like you're at a concert. They even play Nicki Parrott... I'm captivated by this space and want to drown in it. I expected a Moscow Mule in a copper mug, but they missed the mark. However, the well-calculated liqueur and ginger with lime are refreshing. The Iburi cheese with Cahors is irresistible! The crispy texture and creamy cheese make it a perfect accompaniment to drinks. It's a great bar that stays open late, so I found a good bar to stop by before the last bus. And it's cheaper than other bars (I think). Thank you, it was delicious!

On a Saturday holiday, I extended my legs a bit to the neighboring town...the tourist town of Otaru, which is always bustling, was even more crowded this day due to the Otaru Tide Festival. Festive scenes could be seen here and there, but I ended up in a chic bar in the back alleys... The shop I arrived at was a chic bar that was open from early hours. The exterior was made of white wood, creating a bright atmosphere, but as soon as I opened the door and stepped inside, a chic and sophisticated atmosphere spread out. It wasn't the time to be sipping glasses at a bar yet, but let's forgive that fact since it was a festival day. Behind the counter was a handsome master in black attire. Behind him, whiskey bottles gleamed amber. It was so beautiful that I couldn't help but sigh... The secluded atmosphere inside the shop, cut off from the outside world, made time flow softly, making me want to lower my voice involuntarily. It was not uncomfortable at all, but rather the kind of place where you would want to stay in that space forever... Otaru's neighboring town of Yoichi has become famous as a whiskey town... From rare whiskeys made in Yoichi to whiskeys from France, there was a rich lineup. Unfortunately, I have zero knowledge of whiskey and I'm not good with alcohol, so I left it to the master to choose the taste I would like. The drink I was made was a refreshing and sweet cocktail made with peach liqueur. The charm was a chocolate and dried mango. I'm sure the chocolate would go well with the whiskey. One dish I requested was smoked herring and cream cheese. I had occasionally eaten smoked herring served at restaurants, but the smoked herring here was very smoky! The fragrant smoked herring and creamy cheese with a rich taste... When eaten together, it was truly delicious. It was a short stay, but it was a momentary shelter from the heavy rain that started just as I arrived, allowing me to forget the hot and humid outside world for a while. You can have a wonderful time in this place with the master quietly talking and quality speakers playing music.
