Makuake Early Bird: Support purchase for the Santos Omakase Course with all-you-can-drink option for one person, plus a special limited offer. From Omotesando Station, head towards Shibuya. Go a little along Route 246 and on your right, you’ll find La Porta Aoyama on the basement floor next to Omotesandoria, where you will find Sushi Suntos (turn right at the front of the building, then take a small path on the left a bit further along that leads to stairs on the right). It can be hard to find, as there’s no sign for Sushi Suntos on the building directory, which might cause some stress. Starting in October, there are two seatings at 6 PM and 8:30 PM. The restaurant has 6 counter seats, one table for 4, and 3 tables for 2, accommodating a total of 7 customers, including myself as a solo diner, with a joint start at 8:30 PM. If you prefer the counter for two or more, it’s advisable to make a request. The course features 25 dishes that are visually and tastefully satisfying, showcasing an excellent arrangement. The chef, with over 30 years of experience, personally prepares about 10 pieces of sushi, including rolls. I requested smaller rice portions. It seems the dishes are prepared by the neighboring Omotesandoria. The fried items are well done, lightly greased, and fresh. More surprising than the food was the selection of wines. I had thought pairing sushi with wine would be challenging, but I learned a lot. Each wine was interesting on its own. The combination with ingredients like oysters, cream cheese, tuna, ankimo, and anago was impressive. I was particularly thrilled to find wines that paired well with kohada, gari, and aji. There are three sommeliers, including the representative Tsunashima, which seems to be a strong point for the restaurant. The representative personally serves the wine and food. It was an experience unique to this place, and I truly appreciated it. However, I did feel slightly unsatisfied, wishing I could have had a bit more sushi. I might have been able to order extra sushi, but I felt there was no time within the course as it wrapped up. It seems that this place is more about enjoying the wine and dishes rather than just the sushi. Their other locations are quite popular as well. I think the owner is a wonderful person both as a manager and a practitioner. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal. Below is the menu. It includes the items provided by the restaurant that I had that day: - Hakusai Purée with Kisarazu Clam Dashi - Oboro Tofu from Ebisu Tofu Dining - Deep-fried Sea Bream with Nerve - Lightly Fried Seasonal Vegetables - Oysters from Hokkaido - Squid Nigiri - Kohada Nigiri - Grilled Squid Tentacle - Gari - Honmaguro Handroll with Sea Grapes and Cream Cheese - Simmered Kisarazu Clams Nigiri - Hibudai Nigiri - Miyakojima Horse Mackerel Nigiri - Grilled Fish from Bungo Suido - Sweet Vinegar Pickled Daikon for Intermission - Chawanmushi with Toyomaru Eggs - Tuna Trio (Signature) Wrapped Sushi with Sea Urchin - Shrimp Nigiri - Fried Shrimp Heads - Sardine Nigiri - Simmered Ankimo - Anago Nigiri - Nodoguro Chazuke with Ojima Dashi (This day they used Kinmedai instead of Nodoguro) - Peach Compote with Tea Mascarpone - Araibiki Tea from Wakou-en Drinks: - Beers: Akaboshi x2 - Champagne: Leonce d'Albe Spécial Réserve Brut, France - White: Alpamanta Breva Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Argentina - Orange: Askaneli Rkatsiteli Qvevri Amber Dry 2022, Georgia - Sparkling White Bio: Cuvée Frizzante 2021 Kemetner, Austria - Red: Tanba Wine Muscat Bailey A 2019, Japan - Rosé: Cantina Giara Rosmè - Dessert: Gourmandise 2022, France

I ordered the chef's recommendation course. It's the kind of place that serves creative dishes centered around sushi, but the quality is quite lacking. There were only about two dishes that I thought were delicious. The small kinmedai lacked fat and the grilled version was too sweet. The signature sushi made with hon-maguro layered with uni and ikura had the middle fatty tuna grilled, which made it overwhelmingly smell like fish fat. The ochazuke had no flavor at all, and the dessert was tasteless as well. I didn't find any nigiri that I could say was genuinely delicious. It feels like a trendy place trying too hard to be different.

I came to visit because I supported you on Makuake! The wine pairings and sushi were amazing! The place was packed with just eight seats at the counter and tables. No wonder it's hard to get a reservation… The restaurant operates in two shifts, and I managed to book the late slot starting at 8:30 PM. I walked in very hungry. The dinner began at 8:30 PM with a refreshing soup that was delightful! Then, we enjoyed various dishes in sequence. For the sparkling wine, we had creamy oysters, tempura, and silky tofu – all delicious. When we moved on to white wine, the sushi courses began with squid and kohada; they were fantastic! The orange wine was paired with cream cheese marinated in clam soy sauce, cooked clams, and hand rolls with tuna from Shiogama and sea grapes – everything was delicious! While everything was truly tasty, the tuna really got me excited (laughs). The highlight was the tuna trio, a luxurious rolled sushi topped with sea urchin and salmon roe. The sushi even included seared tuna, making it a perfect match with red wine! The cost performance was excellent, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit! This was my first time in the building, and there are quite a few dining options, so I’m eager to try other places as well. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely come again!

I made a reservation for a wine pairing course. It was interesting to experience the pairing of sushi and wine, which I occasionally come across. Overall, the course felt a bit tight on time, and I felt like I had to make an effort to eat quickly! There were many dishes, but each portion was not large, so even someone with a small appetite like me was fine. As for something particularly noteworthy about the food, to be honest, there wasn’t much. The flavors lacked a sense of substance or punch, and the overall impression was gently smooth and mild. Considering the price in Omotesando, I think it’s relatively reasonable, but I left with the impression that it was just acceptable.

Sushi Suntos is located on B1 of La Porto Aoyama, just a few minutes' walk from Exit B2 of Omotesando Station on the Ginza Line along R246. This restaurant can be described as a point along the trajectory of its representative, Kyosuke Tsunushima's, dedication to the craft. He was formerly an executive officer at A. P. Company, which operates the Tsukada Farm chain. In 2021, he opened "Sushi and Wine Sancha Monica" in Sangenjaya, gaining attention. Following this, he debuted "Sushi and Wine Omotesandria" in April 2024, right next door to Sushi Suntos. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll find a cozy space with six counter seats and four table seats. **Menu Highlights:** - **Snack Dishes:** - Toritake Vegetables Purée with Katsuura Clam Broth - Oboro Tofu from Ebisu Tofu Restaurant with Dedicated Tofu Salt - Tempura of Nerve-Prepared Fish - Lightly Battered Seasonal Vegetables - Fresh Oysters of the Day (paired with sparkling wine) - **Sushi:** - Sumi Squid - Kohada - Grilled Sumi Squid Tentacles (paired with white wine) - Ishiji’s (Ishiji) Hon Maguro Hand Roll - Cream Cheese Marinated in Shijimi Soy Sauce - Simmered Clams from Katsuura - Nerve-Prepared Sushi (variety of the day) including Horse Mackerel and the Day's Grilled Fish from Shihachi Fish Shop - **Other Delicacies:** - Chawanmushi made with Toyomaru Eggs (paired with orange wine) - Assorted Maguro in a Three-Note Roll with Sea Urchin - Sweet Shrimp and its Heads - Seasonal Sushi (paired with red wine) - Braised Conger Eel (paired with rosé wine) - Ochazuke with Okume Dashi - Peach Compote with Tea Mascarpone - Arawaki Tea from Wakoen (paired with dessert wine) Notable mentions include "Ishiji," a renowned fish supplier from Toyosu, the nerve-preparing technique that enhances the flavor of fish, the Shihachi Fish Shop from Hokkaido, and the long-established Okume dry goods store—all keywords that are sure to entice food lovers. Overall, I find the menu arrangement quite good. The pairings are reasonable and the price-performance ratio is nice. However, there is something lacking; I didn't find a standout dish that remained in my memory. Instead of feeling like a sushi restaurant, it gave off a casual izakaya vibe. This is purely a personal impression, and it doesn't change the fact that it's a good restaurant. If you're interested, I encourage you to try it yourself. Thank you for the meal!

25 items featuring a high-cost-performance punchline, paired with natural wines that enhance each other. The acidity of the wine and sushi brings a gift from Santa. Immersing in the aftertaste of ideas balanced between innovation and tradition. The curtain rises on the exciting theater of the promising Nakashima, showcasing remarkable performances.

La Porto Aoyama is a sushi restaurant located about a 4-minute walk from Omotesando Station, situated in the basement of a building. It is a new and trendy establishment that opened in August 2024 as a sister restaurant to the popular Sancha Monica in Sangenjaya. This time, I visited after purchasing a crowdfunding plan on Makuake for the 【Early Bird】 Santos Omakase Course with unlimited drinks for two people, which costs ¥28,000. The restaurant's standout feature is its pairing of sushi with wine, and this plan includes not only an all-you-can-drink option but also a wine pairing. The lineup for the day was as follows (with wine pairing types in brackets): - **Sparkling Wine**: Chilled vegetable puree with Kisarazu broth, Oboro tofu, tofu-special salt, tempura of seasonal vegetables, oysters of the day. - **White Wine**: Grilled squid, Hakozuna (sliced fish) squid tentacles. - **Orange Wine**: Bluefin tuna hand roll, cream cheese with shijimi soy sauce, boiled live clams from Kisarazu. - **Daily Wine**: Neuro-shime sushi [daily], horse mackerel, grilled fish of the day, steamed egg custard with Toyomaru eggs. - **Red Wine**: Tuna three-way presentation, Batō sushi with unlimited sea urchin, sweet shrimp, sweet shrimp heads, seasonal nigiri. - **Rosé**: Specialty: simmered eel, nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) chazuke with Ojo broth. - **Dessert Wine**: Peach compote with mascarpone tea, Ara-biki tea from Wakakouen. The total of 25 dishes with 7 cups of pairing wines offered an impressive amount of food, all of exceptionally high quality. The meal goes beyond mere sushi, featuring unique a la carte dishes, classic nigiri, and an extraordinary harmony with the wines, delivering a new sushi experience that is truly moving. One of the most impactful items was the "Tuna Three-Way Presentation: Batō Sushi with Unlimited Sea Urchin." This dish features a lavish assortment of tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe, and the entire process from preparation to serving is part of the performance. Additionally, there are other drink options available, allowing you to enjoy your preferred beverages, which is a delightful aspect for any drink enthusiast. With the wine pairing included, the entire experience for about ¥15,000 feels overwhelmingly worthwhile. This is definitely a place I would want to visit repeatedly.

The table I was shown to was for two people, so I couldn't see the performance up close, but I really enjoyed the sushi in a cozy atmosphere. There were also many items on the menu besides sushi that paired well with wine, which was great. The drinks kept coming as part of the pairing, so I think it would be hard to keep up if you're not a big drinker, haha. I was very satisfied and everything was delicious, but I do feel that sitting at the counter would have been a better experience for the ambiance… I have some lingering regrets about that. Well, I guess it depends on the timing of reservations, so it's understandable! Also, I feel like there are so many high-end sushi places lately that it might get a bit lost in the crowd.

I visited for the first time via Makuake. It’s about a 5-minute walk from Omotesando Station, located in the basement of La Porte Aoyama. The atmosphere is casual and easy to enjoy. The service started all at once. The dishes came out at quite a fast pace. I had sushi paired with wine, and I found the wine choices to complement the sushi very well. It was delicious.

The interior features a small counter seating that creates a close distance between the customers and the staff, resulting in a homey atmosphere, even on my first visit. I chose the pairing course, and they served a variety of drinks. The focus is mainly on wine, so there is very little sake available, but if you request it in advance, you might be able to have a little. This place comes highly recommended if you're looking to casually enjoy sushi while drinking.

A new restaurant where you can enjoy a course of 25 pieces of sushi and appetizers for 14,000 yen has just opened! The crowdfunding campaign reached an astonishing 3864% of its goal! Here are the details: I visited "Sushi Suntos," located about a 4-minute walk from Omotesando Station. It opened on September 1st and is already a hot topic. They managed to raise over 10 million yen through crowdfunding! Supporters were able to visit starting in August. This time, we ordered the omakase course with an all-you-can-drink option. For just 14,000 yen, the course includes 25 dishes, which is an amazing deal! The restaurant specializes in "sushi and wine." Here are some highlights from the course: - The main sushi was "Tuna Trio - The Unlimited Train of Sea Urchin Edition," featuring a luxurious combination of red tuna, medium fatty tuna, fatty tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe! It was my first experience trying red tuna, medium fatty tuna, and fatty tuna all together! Other dishes like squid, horse mackerel, and simmered scallops were also excellent. - The appetizers are flavorful and pair excellently with drinks, which is highlighted by the restaurant's focus on enhancing the drinking experience! The menu included grilled fish, tempura, and a variety of snacks, all well-prepared. The grilled squid tentacles were unbelievably delicious! - The all-you-can-drink option can be added for 4,000 yen! You can enjoy a selection of wines carefully chosen by the owner, who has sommelier certification, making it an incredible experience. ◆ Orders: - Suntos Omakase Course: 14,000 yen - All-you-can-drink: 4,000 yen ◆ Self-introduction: I love exploring various places, especially izakayas, grilled meat, and sushi! I share many different restaurants on my Instagram, so I’d be happy if you came to check it out! @gurume.kuro

There's a members-only sushi restaurant that just opened in front of Aoyama Gakuin University in Omotesando. It features a unique wine pairing experience. Next to it, there's a casual place called "Omotesandoria," which is not members-only. I made a reservation through Makuake this time. The pairing of sushi and wine is exceptional. With a total of 26 dishes, I definitely left feeling stuffed! I found it quite challenging towards the end. Just a tip for those going with women: it might be wise to skip breakfast and lunch beforehand! Overall, it's stylish and delicious, and I definitely want to visit again!

A price-wrecking sushi restaurant has recently opened in Omotesando. This establishment offers a pairing of sushi and wine, and the 25-course menu for ¥14,000 is quite satisfying. It is highly recommended for date nights. **Reservations will be available starting in September!** - The soup made from fresh Toritate vegetables is rich in flavor and has a smooth texture with natural sweetness from the vegetables. It's a gentle yet deep taste that maintains interest from the first sip to the last, showcasing meticulous preparation. - The oboro tofu from a tofu specialty shop has a melt-in-your-mouth smoothness that releases a gentle sweetness upon eating. It's a simple dish that allows the inherent deliciousness of the tofu to shine. It pairs well with soy sauce and garnishes, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. - The tempura made from fresh seafood is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The use of nerve-purged technique ensures the freshness of the ingredients while enhancing the sweetness and umami of the seafood. The tempura batter is light and allows the natural flavors to be fully appreciated. - Seasonal vegetables are carefully fried with a light batter, allowing the true tastes of the vegetables to be enjoyed. The thin and airy coating enhances the natural sweetness and flavors, and the frying is done to perfection, making it light and easy to eat without being greasy. - Today's oysters are fresh, providing a strong taste of the sea and sweetness, rich yet finishing with a clean aftertaste. They boast a creamy texture and just the right amount of saltiness, highlighting the bouncy and succulent nature of the meat, allowing for a full appreciation of raw oysters. - The nigiri sushi, crafted with the freshest ingredients, offers rich umami flavors in each piece. The balance with the rice is excellent, and the flavor of the fish is prominent. Particularly, the fatty pieces melt in the mouth, delivering a satisfying experience that showcases the chef's skill. **Store Information** - Name: Sushi Suntos - Phone: 03-6712-6726 - Address: 5-51-8 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, La Porte Aoyama B1F **Ordered Dishes** - Chef's Course: ¥14,000 + All-you-can-drink ¥4,000 - Toritate vegetable soup with Kizugura stock - Oboro tofu from Tofu Eatery with special salt for tofu - Nerve-purged tempura - Lightly battered seasonal vegetable tempura - Today's oysters - Sumi squid - Kohada - Grilled Sumi squid - Shiitake mushroom hand roll with cream cheese marinated in shijimi - Braised Jukuzukuri from Kujukuri - Nerve-purged nigiri (daily special) - Horse mackerel - Today's grilled fish - Chawanmushi with fresh eggs from Toyomaru - Tuna three-in-one stick sushi (Dan's infinite train edition) - Sweet shrimp - Sweet shrimp heads - Seasonal nigiri - Special dish: Simmered anago - Hamo chazuke with Ojou broth - Peach compote - Mascarpone with black tea - Arahibiki tea from Wakaoen

Sushi and wine. I visited this restaurant, which I heard is the sister restaurant of ALISO, owned by the same owner I previously enjoyed at Gakugei Daigaku. I had high expectations going in, but the deliciousness and enjoyment far exceeded them. The seating was at a table, but I felt that a counter seat would have been better for enjoying the explanations of the dishes, the wines, and conversing with the staff. During the meal, another customer at the same table was knowledgeable about wine, and the owner joined in to share a taste of a rare wine. It was truly fun. The portion sizes were quite large; my partner (a woman) felt very full halfway through, so it might be better for women to order smaller rice portions from the start.

I participated in a project being held on Makuake. Usually, projects in this price range end up feeling somewhat unsatisfactory, but Santos was different. The amount of food was incredible, and I was absolutely stuffed. The style of serving sushi and side dishes simultaneously was great, and the highlight toward the end was the "Santos Roll." It was amazing, featuring tuna, medium fatty tuna, fatty tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe—everything! It was incredibly filling and absolutely fantastic. I recommend pairing it with drinks for those who enjoy alcohol; I saw people at different tables amazed by the pairings. Of course, this isn't the premium sushi of a place that charges 40,000 yen, but for this price and quality, I don't think you can find anything like it in Omotesando. I highly encourage you to check it out!
