I stayed overnight on a business trip. I wanted to stay around Hakodate, but there were no hotels available for business trip expenses, probably because it was crowded with tourists. For the first time, I got off at Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station and stayed at Toyoko Inn. There was nothing around the station, so I had the service curry. It was very delicious.

There are two hotels in this town. I was torn between them, but I decided to stay at the beloved Toyoko Inn because I can earn points. I was hoping for a local discount, but they said they couldn't provide it because they can't issue receipts under a company name. Breakfast was served in paper containers that you can take to go, no familiar plate. I wore gloves and looked through the options. They had local specialties like salted fish guts, a unique taro and spicy cod roe salad, and my favorites were the yakisoba and corn soup. The yakisoba was particularly delicious because they didn't fry the cabbage, which I personally liked. It was easy on the morning stomach. The scrambled eggs were more like scrambled, the rice balls were consistently tasty, and they also had bread. I wonder why they have it here but not in Otaru. They also offer limited curry for free from 7 pm. Maybe it's delicious because it's made with seafood essence, just kidding. Thank you for the meal ♡

I went to see the Aomori Nebuta Festival. This time, I drove to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto and then took the Shinkansen to Aomori. It's impossible to book a hotel in Aomori during the Nebuta Festival, so I'll stay in Hakodate instead. I chose Toyoko Inn, which is a 2-3 minute walk from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station. When I left the station, Hakkie was waving at me (laughs). It was really crowded, probably because many people were carrying shopping bags from Aomori. Check-in took over 20 minutes. For breakfast, there weren't many options, but you can take a lunch box to eat in your room, which is a nice system. The food was okay, nothing special, just decently tasty. This kind of hotel is best when it's just average. It was surprisingly good at Toyoko Inn! (Note: There were reviews, but since they were all zero, I rated it as "3.5" (laughs))
