I ordered both the large natural shrimp and the black tiger shrimp for comparison, and they were so big that I couldn't help but laugh! The sashimi was cut thick, providing an exceptional bite. The grilled seafood series allows you to cook it yourself on a tabletop grill, creating a wonderful experience of enjoying freshly grilled food. It's also great that you can pair the seafood with sake!

I had the opportunity to stop by a restaurant in Kokura without a reservation. **Seating Arrangement:** Upon opening the door, I found a counter seating to my right and a tatami table seating to my left. **Order and Impressions:** The sign outside the restaurant displayed the day's recommended fish, with grilled mullet (bora) being the highlight. I initially planned to order the grilled mullet, but after being seated and asked about drinks, I noticed that sake was recommended. However, I decided to go with my usual choice, which was the "aragoshi" ginger highball for 680 yen. My drink and a small appetizer were served. The appetizer, described as something to be enjoyed with toothpicks, was sea snail (bai-gai). I then contemplated ordering mullet and flatfish sashimi, but I remembered the sign outside and instead ordered the grilled mullet for 680 yen and flatfish sashimi for 800 yen. First, the flatfish sashimi arrived. I was instructed to enjoy it with ponzu sauce. The firm and bouncy texture along with a hint of sweetness was delightful. Next, the mullet was served. I learned that if not processed properly, mullet can be smelly, but the restaurant handled it correctly. The fish had been quickly frozen at its fatty peak, so it had no unpleasant odor and was deliciously paired with a sweet glaze. Lastly, being a rice lover, I was intrigued by the note on the menu about their rice. I ordered the seafood bowl for 1200 yen and a urolog tea for 300 yen. The seafood included yellowtail (hiramasu), amberjack (hamachi), and squid; the selection might change based on the catch. The rice wasn't vinegar rice but seemed to be cooled slightly, which prevented the toppings from becoming soggy. Whether enjoyed with the toppings or on its own, the taste was appealing. It turned out they used a type of rice called "Hinohikari" from Nara. The total bill came to 4060 yen, including the appetizer at 400 yen. The restaurant appeared to be operated by the chef and two part-time staff.

The restaurant offers fresh seafood, and the atmosphere inside is pleasant, so I will definitely come back. The shabu-shabu was exceptional.

The fresh fish was delicious! I heard the chef goes directly to the port in Fukui every morning! The grilled seafood was also tasty, and I discovered a great place. Thank you for the meal!

There was a grilled seafood event... and since this is a seafood izakaya, the fish was delicious! On this day, draft beer was half price.
