I went to Imazato for lunch, and of course, I chose Vietnamese cuisine. It's hard to believe that Vietnamese restaurants have become so numerous that they might even surpass Korean and Chinese establishments in this area. It's quite a trend to see Vietnamese eateries replacing previous Korean restaurants. This place is one of them. The interior gives off an impression of having once been a fancy restaurant, but it feels like the decoration is still incomplete, almost like I stepped into a house mid-move. For my order, I decided on "Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm," a dish featuring shrimp paste served with vermicelli and fried tofu, as well as "Bún Chả," a type of Vietnamese dipping noodle, and seafood fried rice. - **Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm**: The shrimp paste can be a bit off-putting for some, but here it's milder than what I've had before. - **Bún Chả**: This noodle dish originates from Hanoi, and the dipping sauce is slightly different from others I've tried as it contains both pickled vegetables and meat. The sweet, sour, and salty flavors really stimulate the appetite. - **Cơm Rang Hải Sản**: My companion had enjoyed lemongrass fried rice at another restaurant recently, so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, this fried rice did not include lemongrass. It tasted like a classic fried rice, showcasing that Chinese-style fried rice is firmly established in Vietnamese cuisine. When it came time to settle the bill, I noticed the sole cook in the spacious kitchen didn’t speak Japanese. However, as long as he has great cooking skills, that's more than enough.
