I have been coming to this restaurant since before I was transferred to Kansai (about 7-8 years ago?). I happened to read about the restaurant in a magazine and visited it based on that information. At the time, I didn't know much about Osaka, and my mother and I were searching for the place, wondering, "Is there really a sushi restaurant here...?" We finally found it and have been visiting regularly since then. The sushi here is what you might call "Edo-style," with the chef adding a special touch to each piece, resulting in beautifully crafted sushi. The biggest feature is that the rice portions are small, so even women can eat a lot. Personally, I find the grilled dishes and rolls to be of very high quality, with no disappointments. The restaurant is truly a hidden gem (almost too hidden...), making it a bit difficult to find. But because of its small and intimate atmosphere, you can enjoy exquisite sushi. If you bring your girlfriend here, she will definitely be pleased. And don't be put off by the intimidating appearance of the chef - he is actually very friendly once you start talking to him.

You can eat a lot at Sharikoma ☺️ You can also order a la carte, so you can eat your favorite foods. I thought the shrimp was similar to something, and it turns out that the chef trained at Sushi Sakamoto. Thank you for the delicious meal. #Gourmet #OsakaGourmet #ShitennojimaeYuhigaoka #BClassGourmet #FoodWalking #Foodstagram #HardToReserveRestaurant #Sushi

This is a long-established famous restaurant located in Shitennoji Temple. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly small, with very little space per person. However, the food is delicious. It seems like they put all their expenses into the food to maintain the quality. The dried sardines that regular customers always eat are a must-try. I tried it for the first time because everyone was eating it, and it was really delicious. This time, I left it up to the chef, but you can also request your preferences and they will include it in the course. Other classic dishes like crab and sea urchin chawanmushi are also served, which is very satisfying. The sushi has a gentle white rice typical of Osaka style. The flavor is mild, not too firm, with little acidity or saltiness. But when paired with the toppings, it tastes really good. The sushi pieces are small, but well-balanced. The rice may be small, but it has a presence, and the toppings have a strong flavor. While many people prefer sushi with a strong rice flavor, this sushi has a perfect balance. I enjoyed almost all the toppings at this restaurant, and the price is reasonable. The owner may seem intimidating at first, but he is actually very friendly. When you visit, be sure to talk to the owner.

I was impressed by the high quality of the food that came out during my long-awaited visit. We started with a chef's choice appetizer, and the best dish was the steamed taro with shirako! When it came to sushi, it's hard to pick a favorite, but the gizzard shad, clam, and seared fatty tuna were all amazing.

I had made a reservation in advance for Shari Koma, a sushi restaurant that I was really looking forward to. I love Shari Koma, so I had high expectations for this visit. Everything I ate, starting from the first sashimi, was incredibly delicious. It was so tasty! However, there was a point where things took a turn... I won't comment on that, but feel free to DM me if you're curious. Despite that, the food was really delicious overall, and I would love to visit again if invited. 【Masaru】 Address: 2-3-10 Shimotera, Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Osaka Phone: 050-5890-7623 Reservation: Available Opening hours: 17:00-23:00 Closed on Wednesdays #Momotasu #OsakaGourmet #OsakaFoodie #OsakaDelicacies #Osaka #SoloFemaleDiner #EatingAlone #DiningOutDiary #KansaiGourmet #foodstagram #FoodPorn #OsakaTrip #SunsetHill #SunsetHillGourmet #SushiMasaru #TabelogTop5000

The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from Yuhigaoka Station on the Tanimachi Subway Line. It's not in a bustling area, so it may be a bit hard to find. We made a reservation and visited as a party of two as usual. The restaurant has a small counter with 10 seats, and there were four staff members including the head chef. We started with some beer and ordered a sashimi assortment with chu-toro, belt fish, striped jack, horse mackerel, sea bream, squid, and ark shell. Everything was delicious, and we looked forward to the sushi. We also added some fresh scallop sashimi. I switched to a highball, while my companion had cold sake. The scallop was a first for us this season and it was indeed delicious. For sushi, we had ark shell, tuna, flathead, conger eel, marinated saury, marinated mackerel, and snow crab. Finally, we had some rolled sushi with clam, negitoro, and cucumber. It was all very tasty.

Two days in a row of sushi and sake, it just happened to be that way in my schedule. The day before was Sushi Sakamoto (a pop-up shop), and the next day was Sushidokoro Masaru. I thought the shrimp looked similar at both places, so I asked and found out that the chef at Sushi Sakamoto had trained at Sushidokoro Masaru. I hadn't been to Sushidokoro Masaru in a while, but my foodie memory is pretty impressive, haha. To be continued...

This is a sushi restaurant in Shimo-tera-machi, Osaka. I visited for the first time in 2 years. The interior of the restaurant is small with a 10-seat L-shaped counter, creating a lively atmosphere. The restaurant seems to have been renovated a few years ago and looks quite clean. The head chef has been working at this place for over 20 years and is a friendly and down-to-earth craftsman. His apprentice has been training for almost 10 years, making it a popular local restaurant. The menu is mainly à la carte, but there is also an omakase option. Overall, the appetizers are delicious, and the sushi pieces are small and easy to eat. Personally, I find the rice slightly soft. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. Today's à la carte menu included: - Kegani and uni sashimi - Chu-toro, hirame, shima aji, anago, squid, tsubugai, and tachiuo - Grilled nodoguro with salt - Grilled manakatsuo with saikyo miso - Tamagoyaki - Hamo soup - Nigiri sushi: kisu, akou, maguro zuke, hirame engawa, kamasu, kinmedai, kensaki ika, simmered awabi, carabinero, uni, ikura, chawanmushi, simmered anago, kegani, raw squid roll, and dried gourd roll.

I passed by this beautiful sushi restaurant in an unexpected place! Even though it was full, the sushi was delicious and paired well with wine. The staff was friendly and even gave me extra when they noticed I was drinking a lot.

A sushi restaurant quietly operating on Sunset Hill. The sign is small and easy to overlook. The atmosphere is just a 10-seat counter. You can order a la carte, but this time I ordered the omakase with a focus on nigiri. It's all about the nigiri here! Each piece is small but delicious without the need for soy sauce. I could eat as many as I wanted! I also ordered some extras at the end and left feeling satisfied. The sushi here is small but tasty. It's especially good for women, I think.

Located a seven-minute walk from Ebisucho Station on the Osaka Metro, Sushi Masaru in Nihonbashi offers delicious, bite-sized sushi that suits your preferences. The soy sauce-marinated mackerel was a first for me, and the combination of the mackerel's richness with the refreshing soy sauce was excellent. It was tastier than traditional sushi. Some of the recommended dishes include Torosuji Salad, Fugu Shirako, Grilled Conger Eel, Grilled Torigai, and Soy Sauce-Marinated Mackerel. The sushi selection includes Kisu with Kombu, Sweet Japanese Flounder, Marinated Tuna, Striped Jack, Beltfish, Golden Cuttlefish (with liver), Abalone, Kuruma Prawn, Sea Urchin, Hairy Crab, Eel, Salmon Roe, Clam, Egg, Kohada Gari Roll, Cabbage and Myoga Roll, and Dried Gourd Roll.

[Facility] Parking: Times Life Shimo-Tera Exterior: Sushi restaurant vibe Interior: Counter seating for 8 (too cramped) Toilet: Old Amenity: None [Taste] Total cost: 24,000 yen (for 2 people) Course: Chef's choice Drink: 2 iced green teas Items ordered: - Kisu (6 pieces) - Karei (7 pieces) - Maguro zuke (7 pieces) - Saba zuke (7 pieces) - Kamasu (7 pieces) - Kinmedai (7 pieces) - Hariika (6 pieces) - Awabi (7 pieces) - Kuruma ebi (8 pieces) - Uni (7 pieces) - Ikura (7 pieces) - Kegani (8 pieces) - Hamaguri (7 pieces) - Unagi (7 pieces) - Aburi maguro (7 pieces) - Tamago (6 pieces) - Toro taku (7 pieces) - Akadashi soup (6 pieces) Comments: The omakase course was underwhelming, with a lackluster overall impression. It's unclear if the issue lies with the quality of the fish, the rice, or the temperature control, but there are likely multiple factors at play. It felt more like sushi than high-quality nigiri. [Service] Payment: Credit card accepted Customer service: Not good [Overall] The seating was uncomfortably cramped, requiring constant attention to not intrude on neighboring diners. The clientele was unremarkable. Considering the location and price, it's somewhat understandable, but for a slightly higher price, the lunch at Yahachi offers better taste, ambiance, and overall experience.

Today's dinner was sushi! I visited Masaru-san in Yuhigaoka, Shitennoji Mae for the second time, after making a reservation in advance. We had a chef's choice course which included: hairy crab and sea urchin, a sashimi platter with 7 types of fish (barracuda, conger eel, flounder, striped jack, fatty tuna, squid, sea bream), beltfish and blackthroat seaperch, and steamed shirako with ponzu sauce. I enjoyed about 10 pieces of sushi and drinks, and the total cost was around 15,000 yen per person. The sashimi platter was plentiful and had great value. Although there was nothing particularly mind-blowing, you can also order a la carte, making it a great place for casual dining. It seemed to be a popular spot among regular customers. Thank you for the meal!

This is a popular sushi restaurant in Shitennouji with great cost performance, selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in 2021. Despite its small size with no signboard, it is a narrow shop where you can enjoy authentic sushi at reasonable prices. Currently, the course menu starts from 11,000 yen, but prices may vary depending on the day's ingredients and toppings. You can also order individual pieces now! On this day, I decided to go with the omakase course. The meal included sea urchin and hair crab, tuna, barracuda, conger eel, red snapper, spear squid, flounder, horse mackerel, and horse mackerel, followed by grilled beltfish and grilled blackthroat seaperch. The highlight was the fugu milt chawanmushi with ponzu sauce. The nigiri sushi selection included sandfish, fugu, tuna, marinated mackerel with mustard, alfonsino, simmered clams, eel, salmon roe, seared fatty tuna, and egg. Each piece of sushi was carefully prepared and presented beautifully. The standout was the seared fatty tuna. There was also a variety of sake available, and I tried a sake from Nara Prefecture for the first time. However, despite the quality of the food and drinks, the cramped space and lack of hospitality from the staff made me hesitate to revisit. Overall, while the restaurant offers high-quality ingredients at a reasonable price, the overall experience left something to be desired. #Osaka #Shitennouji #Sushi #SavannahinLion ❤️

It was my first visit! I was lucky to get a same-day reservation, so I usually order a lot of side dishes and eat a little bit of sushi. But today, I was in the mood for high-quality sushi that you rarely get to eat. I arrived and ordered some side dishes. The marinated sweet snapper was delicious! The ark shell was also delicious! The hairy crab was okay... The mackerel in soy sauce was decent. But the grilled beltfish was incredibly salty! I tried to stay positive and ordered some sushi. I tried three types: gizzard shad, too salty... Japanese halfbeak, too salty... Flying squid, unbelievably salty... I've had enough! I paid the bill - the sushi was 2 pieces each for 3 types, totaling 18,000 yen. As I left, instead of a polite "thank you," the chef just nodded with a clear attitude and muttered "thanks..." This was the first time I've been so disappointed after trusting the reviews on Tabelog for a restaurant.

This sushi restaurant is ranked high on Tabelog. They offer both omakase and a la carte options. I tried the omakase with additional orders of my choice. The sushi rice is well-balanced, allowing women to enjoy a variety of seasonal ingredients. The chef is calm and has a gentle smile. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Masaru-san is located in a quiet neighborhood near the Hanshin Expressway entrance on the Sunset Hill. The chef is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy in this small restaurant with only 8-9 seats at the counter. I wasn't sure what to order at first, but the chef said I could go with omakase or choose my own dishes. I decided to try omakase and was impressed by the vinegary flavor of the Shirako chawanmushi, which was a specialty. The sushi was consistently delicious. I noticed that most other customers were ordering their favorite dishes instead of omakase, so I plan to do the same next time. Oh, and the restroom being inside the kitchen was a bit funny!

This was my first visit to this sushi restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I'm not sure about the cost performance, but it was a very delicious sushi restaurant! I ordered the omakase. I had kisu with kelp, tachiuo zuke, maguro, saba, dodoguro, kinmedai, ken, ika simmered, awabi, kuruma ebi, uni, ikura, ankimo simmered, hamaguri, grilled unagi, toro, tamago, plus ika geso, tekka maki, hirame, watari crab, eschalot, toro roll. Everything was so delicious with perfectly seasoned rice, I felt like I could eat them endlessly! Everything was delicious. Thank you for the happy moment. Thank you for the feast.

I went to Masaru-san's restaurant after being recommended by Sakamoto-san, who trained here. The restaurant is located in a dark alley near Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka. It can be a bit hard to find at night due to the dark surroundings. There are only 10 seats at the counter, and the interior is quite narrow. The distance between diners is close, which can be a bit unsettling. I ordered the omakase course, which was probably around 10,000 yen. It started with a sashimi assortment and grilled fish, followed by about 12 pieces of nigiri. I added more! It may seem like a lot, but the rice portions are small, so even women can enjoy it. Truly the original! It was incredibly delicious. It's recommended to make a reservation about 2 weeks in advance for weekends. Weekdays may be possible with a reservation 2-3 days prior. The head chef may seem intimidating, but he was actually quite curious when I used a taxi app, which was cute!

During my time living in Osaka, I chose Masoru as my final sushi experience. The restaurant is located away from the city center and has a quiet atmosphere. The sushi was delicious and prepared with great care. Although the prices were on the higher side, I would definitely want to visit again if I have the chance.
