Sakuchi restaurant Morimoto. Normally open for lunch, but my workplace colleague has a relationship with the female owner, and she arranged a private night event for us after 2 years. What's amazing is the outstanding dishes created by the female owner who has the ability to reproduce the flavors of famous Kansai restaurants. My stomach was surprised by the continuous deliciousness! - Chawanmushi: The broth is amazing! Delicious! - Salad with chicken and lettuce: Goes well with the potato sauce! - Sea cucumber: Crunchy and delicious! You can't taste this anywhere else. - Orange-wrapped sea bream: This is French cuisine! The sweetness of the sea bream and the acidity of the orange blend well, leaving a light and delicious aftertaste. - Crab: This is divine level. The richness of the crab miso and the luxuriousness of the meat are irresistible! Incredibly delicious! - Mapo tofu with shirako: Mapo tofu is oily but elegant, with the addition of rich shirako making it elegant and rich in flavor! You can only taste this here. - Stir-fried clams and butterbur: Bitter and light, with a refined saltiness that complements the mapo tofu! - Butter-sautéed hiratake mushrooms and bread: This addictive dish is delicious! On such a hot day, I went to Morimoto-san for curry. Today's special was Hyderabadi mutton keema and Morimoto's chicken keema. I mixed them together and added some tartar sauce. The mutton keema was incredibly delicious, I wish it was on the regular menu. The chicken keema had a gentle flavor. For seconds, I had the regular chicken and beef curry. The beef curry was as spicy as ever, making me sweat. In addition to default chicken, there is also a daily special, so there are many variations if you mix and match. Quite spicy. However, there is an option for a raw egg and tartar sauce, which can make it milder when ordered.

The counter seats inside the restaurant are always full, but there are chairs behind for waiting customers. During lunchtime, the turnover is quick, making it easy to find a seat. The lunch menu includes both regular and daily curry options, with the classic beef curry accompanied by a row of chili peppers indicating spiciness levels. For those seeking a bit of adventure, trying the daily special curry is recommended. I ordered the Daily Special Combo (1,500 yen) which included Butter Chicken Curry and Beef Bhuna. The Butter Chicken Curry had a Thai curry-like aroma with the richness of chicken and buttery sauce, while the Beef Bhuna was like a minced beef version of Keema curry. Both dishes were mild in heat and spices, suitable for all palates. If you prefer a bit more kick, you can opt for the Beef or Chicken curry with lots of chili pepper marks. The rice here is notably firm, which may be a deciding factor for some. I am curious about their evening menu featuring dishes like mapo tofu and noodles. In recent years, my favorite restaurant has been this one. Every day, the daily specials are posted on Instagram and Facebook (as long as the owner doesn't forget his phone, haha). Today, they had lemon curry and crab curry. What a treat! All my favorite daily specials gathered in one place. (By the way, I also like black pepper). I didn't hesitate and visited the restaurant right away. I was relieved to be able to get in on the first round. At this restaurant, you must wait to be asked what you would like to order by the female owner after you are seated. Orders are taken in the order of arrival, so just wait for your turn. When it's your turn, you can order "daily special mix, less rice." The daily curry specials are not spicy, so you can eat while leaving some rice, then place the plate gently on the counter above. When it's your turn again, the owner will smile and serve you a "beef mix, less rice," which is my favorite classic mixed curry. With this, you can try four different curries. It's amazing that you can enjoy four curry varieties at the price of the daily special mix. By the way, the beef curry is very spicy, so everyone, please be careful. The spiciness turns into umami for those who can handle it, which I think is why they become repeat customers.

Osaka is experiencing heavy rain from the morning. I left my parents' house and checked into a hotel in Osaka city, then headed out for lunch. I was going to meet a beautiful mama who creates amazingly delicious original spicy curry and extremely spicy dishes at "Karakuchi Iya Morimoto," which I haven't visited in 5 years since June 2018. The first time I visited was back in 2012, just after moving to Osaka, so it's been 11 years. The location of the restaurant has changed since then, but it seems like the taste has evolved towards even spicier and hotter flavors. Despite the heavy rain, I arrived eagerly 15 minutes before opening. I managed to get the front row seat. Even though it was already 11:30, there was no sign of the restaurant opening, which made me a bit nervous. However, there was no notice of a temporary closure on the restaurant's Instagram. The customers behind me were calm. Since mama runs the restaurant alone, the opening time can vary due to preparations. Finally, the restaurant opened about 6-7 minutes late. Mama was surprised to see my face since I hadn't mentioned that I was in Osaka or coming for lunch. I sat at the counter at the back since I was the first one there. Today, I planned to try the three daily specials. They all looked delicious. The beef and chicken are the regular options, with free refills available later. Of course, I ordered a raw egg as a topping for the curry. The curry was served. The three special dishes were served together. The unique presentation of curry served on a rice plate with a center dip for the raw egg was mama's idea. In the center, there were pickles. The Hyderabadi mutton keema, ginger pork curry, and even the usually mild butter chicken curry were prepared in a spicy style at this restaurant. I started with the pork ginger curry, which had a stimulating ginger flavor. The combination of pork and ginger is as delicious as pork ginger stir-fry. I made a well in the center of the rice shaped like a Mitsuya Cider bottle, dropped in the raw egg, and roughly mixed the yolk and white with a spoon. While mixing this raw egg with the rice, I continued to enjoy the spicy butter chicken curry and Hyderabadi mutton keema. The butter chicken curry had a perfect balance of spiciness and sweetness, while the mutton keema had a nice collaboration of mutton's flavor and herb aroma. I am truly impressed by mama's creativity in creating such delicious curry. In the middle, I mixed the three types of curry to my liking, creating my original flavor. Towards the end, I left a little rice and asked for an additional regular curry. The regular chicken curry and beef curry allow for two refills. In other words, you can order chicken and beef curry once each. Since I was already full, I asked for a small portion. The chicken curry was spicy but milder in comparison, while the beef curry was dangerously spicy even for someone who loves spicy food like me. An indulgent unlimited curry experience. The beef curry after a long time was still mercilessly spicy. I started sweating from the top of my head. The chicken curry was a great deal as it came with chicken wings for refills. A truly satisfying lunch in Osaka. I thanked mama, who was busy in the kitchen, and said, "Thank you! I will come again," before leaving the restaurant. The rain had turned into a light drizzle. Located in Nishitenma, this super famous restaurant is on the second floor. Before even entering, you are warned at the entrance on the first floor that "My (owner's) curry is spicy," which prepares you for the impending heat. The regular menu offers beef and chicken curry, with daily specials also available. You can ask for extra curry sauce, so if you're feeling greedy and want to try both, order the daily special and then add beef and chicken during the extra sauce time to conquer all varieties. The menu lists one chili pepper mark for chicken and 20 for beef... 20 times hotter? That's intimidating! I added a raw egg (100 yen) to soften the blow and ended up getting both beef and chicken as extras. The restaurant even includes bone-in chicken in the extra serving, showing their generosity. Both were spicy, especially the beef, but the mix of spices in the heat was delicious. The refreshing spiciness captivated me, and it's no wonder there's always a line. I definitely want to revisit (and get extra servings again) at this amazing place. Thank you for the meal.

I took the last qualification exam of this term and visited Morimoto-san for the first time in a while on the way back. Today, I enjoyed two curries, Taodashi Keema and Eggplant Chicken Curry, with firm rice to break the dam that had been held back. I also added homemade tartar sauce today and enjoyed both curries with flavor changes. For seconds, I had a Chicken Curry with a smooth texture, almost like curry ochazuke. Mama-san showed me the WBC, so I was able to witness the moment of Japan's victory. I went to "Morigen," a spicy rice restaurant on "Old Pine Street." The menu board displayed inside the restaurant showed that their curry is very spicy. I decided to play it safe and ordered the "Chicken Curry" with a side of "Beef Curry" to see how spicy it really was. The Chicken Curry with two chicken wings on top was delicious. Then, I cautiously tried a little bit of the Beef Curry on the right side... It was extremely spicy, making my tongue hurt! The portion of rice was generous, and you could add more curry sauce, so I asked for an extra serving with my Chicken Curry. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the "Daini Shibukanken Building." Some brave souls ordered the "Beef Curry," but it was too spicy for me. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience.

I arrived around 11:25 aiming to open the store. There were four people in line in front of me. After the store opened, all seats were quickly taken. I was a bit confused about what to order, but I chose the daily curry based on the order of the person in front of me. The daily curry was spinach, pumpkin, and Massaman, very colorful! The pumpkin was like pumpkin potatoes with a strong curry spice flavor, very satisfying. The spinach was my favorite type, with a very good spice flavor and very delicious. The Massaman curry, which I hadn't had in a while, had a deep flavor of spices and coconut milk, and was easy to eat. I honestly wanted to have seconds! Soon after, they offered to add more curry sauce, so I ordered a regular curry set. The chicken curry was light and had a good balance of spices and acidity, seeming good for the body like herbal medicine. The chicken in the soup was tender and fell apart! Lastly, the beef curry. Some reviews said it wasn't that spicy, but it was quite spicy. It was a kind of heat that made you feel hot from the inside and made you want to sweat, haha. But within the spiciness, there was a solid umami flavor. This was also delicious! Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

Today's daily specials are spinach and Indian cheese curry, as well as oyster keema curry. The Indian cheese is similar to cottage cheese, while the oyster keema combines the deliciousness of oysters with curry. I definitely want to come back for more. On 10/21/2022 at 12:50, I had a combination plate for ¥950 with default chicken curry and beef curry. The chicken curry had zero spiciness, with flavors of cloves, cardamom, and a strong taste of turmeric. It had a chunky texture. In contrast, the beef curry was very spicy and had no broth. The beef curry alone packed a heavy punch. Mixing the beef with the chicken and rice was a good idea. There are different opinions on this curry, but the spiciness and flavors that emerge from the mix are enjoyable. Being able to get a refill of the curry sauce is also a nice touch. Overall, this curry dish is one that may divide opinions.

★Dinner trip during the old man's work break! [Nishi-Temma, Osaka City]‼️⇒ I finally visited this place to try their curry, but it turns out they only serve curry during lunch and switch to mapo tofu at night. No parking! Had to use a coin parking. Ordered! * "Mapo Tofu Noodles (with salad, pickles, and soup)" for 1000 yen... 3.8 + "Simmered Pork Bowl (full)" for 450 yen... 3.5 Total 1450 yen. The "salad" was just simple shredded cabbage, but the unique tangy dressing with mayonnaise was delicious! The "pickles" were cabbage pickles with a flavor I preferred over a certain curry chain. The "soup" was a chicken curry soup with chicken pieces in it! Such great service. It had no spiciness but the spices were well-balanced and tasty. The "mapo tofu noodles" had thin straight noodles with a strong egg flavor. The mapo tofu paired well with the noodles. The mapo tofu was decent, and when asked if it was okay, they offered to add chili oil if more spiciness was desired. It was just right for me, with a good balance of spiciness and flavor. The "Simmered Pork Bowl" had tender, house-made simmered pork with a sweet and savory sauce over rice. The portion was just right, not too much, and complemented the noodles perfectly. The sweet and savory flavors were balanced nicely. Overall, I was touched by the kind owner's sister. I was so happy that I forgot to take a photo, but they also shared a bit of their popular "Beef Curry" with me. I was surprised that for 1000 yen, I got the noodles with salad, soup, and pickles. The owner's sister was beautiful and kind, and if the food is delicious, I will definitely become a regular at this restaurant.

Every week on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm to 9pm is Mapo Tofu Day! The curry for lunch is really delicious, but the Mapo Tofu for dinner is also super tasty. They have started serving Mala Tantanmen and ramen too, so I want to go eat there again soon! As expected, Morimoto is really delicious.

Daily special. Creamy scallop keema. This was incredibly delicious. Scallops and keema go well together. There is no spiciness, but it's a flavor I love. For my second helping, I asked the kind owner for a bit of chicken curry and a little beef. I took a bite and thought, "Can I handle the spiciness?" but it was too much for me. I finally managed to eat it by mixing it with the gentle chicken. But it was so tasty. I realized that it's a spiciness that is too much for me, but it's delicious. The ginger pork was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It's been about 2 years since I visited Morimoto-san's restaurant. As usual, I ordered the daily curry with less rice. Today's specials were clam green curry and ginger pork curry. I enjoyed both curries by breaking up the firm rice that held them back. I took advantage of the system that allows up to 2 refills for Morimoto's regular curry, and next I tried the chicken and beef combo. The beef was still as spicy as ever. Mixing it with the mild chicken curry was just right. I sweated a lot today. I was born in Osaka, so I have been to many great deals. However, this curry shop is the best deal I have ever seen! When I entered and looked at the menu, I was hesitating, and then the owner said, "If you want to try 4 types, go for the 1400 yen combination." Wow! The first plate was a combination of green curry and shrimp curry. The green curry had a lot of ingredients like daikon and it had amazing flavor. The shrimp in the red curry was sweet and delicious. When I left some rice, they added beef curry (very spicy) and chicken keema! Amazing service! And the spiciness of the beef curry was intense! But don't worry, it was still delicious! I was so impressed!

I was brought here by a regular customer. Before visiting, I received a lesson on etiquette. You can have up to 2 refills, and you can also change the types, so you can try a maximum of 4 varieties (sometimes 5). It's a great deal! Following the etiquette, I ordered 2 daily specials, left some rice, and ordered the combo (beef and chicken). Be sure not to break the rice dam while carefully mixing it! It would be a disaster if you make an etiquette mistake (lol). Today's specials were ginger pork and South Indian squid curry! Both were incredibly delicious, but the ginger pork had a mountain of shredded ginger and was absolutely delicious! The beef curry in the combo was not too surprising in its spiciness, as I had received a lesson beforehand, and I enjoyed it while sweating. The chicken had a delicate soup with a whole chicken wing! It was also very tender! I finished the super spicy beef as well! Do you not realize how strong your tolerance for spiciness is? I surprised those around me! This curry is addictive! It was really delicious! I want to aim for the mutton day next time I go!

I visited the restaurant on Thursday just before noon. The place had a counter and large group seating, and it was already crowded, but I managed to find a seat. I decided to order the regular curry with a mix of chicken and beef (medium portion). In just 5 minutes, they served me a plate of rice with curry, piping hot. I started with the chicken, which was delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. The chicken was tender and a great deal! Then I tried the beef, which was also amazing. It's supposedly the spiciest, but it was manageable at first, though it gradually builds up, so be careful. The curry was so good that I finished it quickly, but luckily, this place allows you to get seconds up to two times, which is fantastic! They also add extra ingredients generously, making me worry if it's too good to be true. The portion of rice is surprisingly large, so be mindful of that! Thank you for the meal!!
