【Takeout】Hotate no Machi is a traditional Japanese and Western confectionery shop located in the central area of Toyoura Town. It has been beloved by locals for many years. This type of confectionery shop is well-known in the Tohoku and Hokkaido regions. The shop is situated near Toyoura Town's JR station, surrounded by hot springs, restaurants, a community center, and a mix of residential buildings. It is located on a road parallel to the JR railway tracks, on the seaside of the town, and is the highest point on that road leading from the fishing port to the level crossing and national highway. I got three dorayaki from there on the morning of March 19, 2023. They cost 150 yen each. Despite their small size, they were delicious. The dorayaki had a traditional, tasty flavor. The dough was made with flour, eggs, and sugar, and was carefully and simply baked. It was filled with red bean paste, which was also cooked carefully and simply with sugar. The sweetness was just right, not too overpowering. This old-fashioned type of dorayaki tends to have a longer shelf life, and the ones from this shop also last quite a while. I would like to buy more next time.
