Today I came to Osaka! On the third day, I had the chance to visit business-oriented shops on a weekday, so I started by having "morning udon" at a shop in Honmachi that caught my eye, then moved to Higo Bridge to visit another shop I was interested in, called "Victory"! "Victory" is a popular long-established coffee shop founded in 1928, known for its wide variety of sandwiches! I had been curious about this place for a while, especially when looking for a place to take a break during my Osaka expeditions, and my interest grew as my sandwich craving increased. However, with its closed days on Sundays and holidays and only serving lunch, it was difficult to find the right timing to visit. But during this trip, I was able to set aside a weekday to visit, so I was really looking forward to it! The shop has a narrow entrance and a traditional coffee shop atmosphere, with a location in a back alley adding to its charm! The interior also has a traditional coffee shop vibe, with a narrow layout extending towards the back, and only table seating available. Today, when I visited around 9:40 am, there were no customers ahead of me and two customers came in after me. I decided to order the famous three-color sandwich (with coffee) (850 yen) that I had chosen even before my visit. After ordering, it took about 10 minutes for the three-color sandwich and coffee to arrive on one plate. The three-color sandwich consists of tuna, ham and vegetable, and pork cutlet and vegetable varieties, with generous fillings that are colorful and look homemade! I started by trying the ham and vegetable sandwich, and it was delicious! The ham itself was thinly sliced and not very noticeable, but the combination of egg, tomato, and cucumber was perfect and tasty! The bread had the crust cut off, lightly toasted, and had a decent crispiness, with a soft and chewy texture inside, complementing the generous fillings well. The tuna sandwich had a strong tuna flavor, and the egg, tomato, and cucumber sandwich was juicy and tasty, with a light mayonnaise and a nice egg taste. The pork cutlet and vegetable sandwich had a crispy and freshly fried pork cutlet, and was also filled with egg, tomato, and cucumber, making it a hearty sandwich. All three sandwiches had egg, tomato, and cucumber fillings, providing a satisfying volume, and the well-balanced base with each ingredient sitting well on top made them delicious! The side of potato salad and banana was a nice touch, adding to the volume of the sandwiches and making it a good deal! The coffee had a rich flavor and was enjoyable, and considering the price, it was of high quality and delicious! Overall, I was able to enjoy a satisfying meal with the generous and homemade sandwiches! The price of the sandwiches for the quality and quantity was quite reasonable, and the overall price range seemed to offer good value for money! The freshly made homemade sandwiches with abundant fillings were a delight, and the well-balanced flavors lived up to the shop's reputation for sandwiches. I felt more than satisfied with the experience! With a wide variety of sandwich options, I would love to try more in the future, and the cozy traditional atmosphere made it a comfortable place to dine. I would definitely like to visit again when the timing is right!
