I was surprised to see that it looked exactly like the photo and was under ¥1,000. When I inquired with the staff, they mentioned it was the owner's intention to keep it at cost... and it certainly seemed that way. I decided to add a meal set with dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelette), which included rice, aji-jiru (fish soup), and takuan (pickled daikon), turning it into an instant luxurious sashimi dinner. Of course, I had to go for a second serving of rice. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the aji-jiru was also tasty. I ordered some sake as well, making for a satisfying dinner. The first choice of appetizers was great too. The restaurant is part of the Ushiojō group near the east exit, offering good cost performance, and I definitely plan to come back to enjoy more seafood while drinking.

The slightly warm vinegar rice was somewhat disappointing, but the portion was satisfying. The freshness of the fish was average. It's unclear if you can order sushi during lunch, but there is a wide variety of sushi options available on the menu inside.

I visited Otona no Uozyo. I am a regular at the nearby Izakaya Uozyo, but this was my first time here. The restaurant is small and has a sophisticated atmosphere. Even on a weekday, it was almost full by 6 PM. When you think of Uozyo, the first thing that comes to mind is the sashimi. The prices are almost the same as at Izakaya Uozyo, but they have reduced the portion sizes to enhance the quality. Still, the cost-performance is impressive. You can also enjoy their famous shrimp tempura. There are some unique items on the menu that you won't find at Izakaya Uozyo, although the variety is somewhat limited. The interior is calm, so if you're sensitive to noise, I recommend this location. While the convenience of Izakaya Uozyo is appealing for spontaneous visits, it’s nice to choose between the two based on company and mood.

Each dish was generously portioned and delicious, so I felt safe ordering more. It's such a delight to be able to enjoy a luxurious serving for one person. The "shrimp tempura" was also large and very satisfying, with a perfect balance between the batter and the shrimp. I've been to Sakagyo a few times! It's a popular seafood izakaya that can be a bit pricey, but it's always crowded. There are mostly adults, so I feel like the drinks are stronger... On this visit, I tried sushi for the first time there, and it was really delicious with thick pieces of fish! The fish was about 3 cm thick (maybe I'm exaggerating). There was a dish that mixed pickled ginger and tomatoes, which was also tasty, and the chanja (spicy cod roe) had fish eggs in it, making it really good. I will probably go again!

Next year will be my fourth time, and I always enjoy the thick-cut seafood bowl. For 1,580 yen, you get a small side dish, a fish soup, and even complimentary coffee, making it an incredible value. As usual, it was very delicious this time as well, but both of my companions and I ended up with stomach issues in the evening. It was particularly warm that day, and I feel the temperature fluctuation might have affected us. The three of us stuck to drinking water until Friday noon, but we managed to recover. Today, I had a great time drinking with an old friend in Ikebukuro and visited Uokubo in Daimon, which left me very satisfied! (I'm a bit worried about the safety and other issues in Ikebukuro...) I heard there’s a branch in Ikebukuro as well, but this one is newly opened and offers a lot of elaborate dishes. The limited-time fresh and abundant sashimi platter, giant shrimp mayo, and various side dishes that pair perfectly with drinks were all fantastic! The service was good, the place was clean, and I’m definitely coming back! I’d like to try their course menu next time. It’s really convenient to know such reliable places, especially since it’s close to the station. After that, I smoothly moved on to the second bar. Thank you for a wonderful meal today!

I love the fish shop at the East Exit, but I also really like this cozy place. They have刺し盛り (a platter of sashimi) that has reached this level for just 990 yen, which they didn't have before! I definitely want to go there. The fried mackerel is also very juicy. I highly recommend it!

In either February or March, a new restaurant opened in the location that used to be a pasta shop. I've been to the nearby Sakana-jo, and it was just an ordinary izakaya, so I honestly didn’t have high expectations when I visited this new place. What caught my attention was the limited variety on the menu. They offer four lunch options, and the prices are relatively respectable. I decided to order the "Seafood Chirashi." Each of the four menu items comes with an 'ara' broth and three side dishes: simmered fish bones, 'unohana' (a type of vegetable dish), and pickles. The chirashi had marinated red shrimp and a soy-sauce marinated egg yolk topping. It also included tuna, salmon roe, sea bream, cucumber, and omelet. The freshness of the fish was excellent, and it was of quite high quality. Additionally, it came with nori (seaweed), allowing you to eat it rolled up if you wanted. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The interior of the restaurant is small but clean, and you can also get coffee to take out on your way home. I could definitely consider coming back for lunch again.

The portion size is substantial, which might make women wonder, "Can I finish this?" — a testament to its lavishness.
