Sumikawa Station is a 5-minute walk away. This is my second time drinking in Sumikawa. I usually get really drunk in Susukino, so this time I have to be careful not to get too drunk since I'll be taking the subway home. We had the whole place to ourselves because there were many of us. There is no all-you-can-drink option, but there is plenty of alcohol available. I started with beer, but ended up drinking only sake in the end. Until 7 p.m., beer is only 390 yen, which is a great deal. The food is mainly Akita cuisine, as the owner is from Akita. I tried kiritanpo nabe for the first time and it was delicious. I'd love to try it again in Akita. We ordered a variety of dishes in advance, so the food came out smoothly. Everything was delicious. Whether you're sitting at the counter or at a table with friends, it's a great place to relax and enjoy some drinks. I wish it was closer so I could visit again. Thank you for the reservation and the wonderful meal!

It's been a while in Sapporo, drinking in Susukawa. Lately, I've been going for food walks in places like Shin-Sapporo, Shiroishi, and next will be Konoe, and this time Susukawa. It seems like I've been going to places a bit away from the center for eating and drinking. I heard that the main food at the place in Konoe is from Akita. The pretty hostess didn't have a regional accent, but when I mentioned it, she suddenly spoke with a strong accent that I couldn't understand at all. I wanted to eat kitamoppo, so I was happy. We had a hot pot, but I won't say if it was delicious or not. The broth wasn't to my liking, and the kitamoppo wasn't alive. It was a bit disappointing for me. Isn't kitamoppo supposed to be grilled? I was imagining something crispy and fragrant, so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it. It's my problem, really. Reading the draft, I wonder who wrote it, as I seem to be holding back a lot. It seems like I've become an adult. The meat rolls were delicious, but it was just meat. It didn't really go well together. I kept drinking without eating much. I don't have much experience, but I imagined grilled kitamoppo in a hearth, charred and fragrant, with a rich chicken broth. I thought it would be delicious when combined. It was just my own imagination. Or maybe it was just a delusion.

Main purpose of returning to Hokkaido was to attend a junior colleague's wedding celebration (lol). The venue was "En," a restaurant serving Akita cuisine. It seems to be a family-run business, with the Akita-born proprietresses providing excellent hospitality. Gathered with old friends, seniors, bosses, and so on, about 10 people in total, to celebrate the bride and groom. There were 2-3 potential brides... Wait, where's the groom? Well, let's not dwell on the details and raise a toast with fresh beer! We left the food selection to the organizer, opting for a la carte... or was it ordering? Classic dishes were a delight. The kiritanpo hot pot was flavorful with plenty of vegetables and soy sauce. The meat-wrapped rice balls, seafood salad, bacon, and meatballs were also delicious. We switched to a sake mode midway, and sake goes well with Japanese cuisine! The best accompaniment to the reunion with old friends is the alcohol and snacks. The ambiance and food at the restaurant were great. They also had a variety of sake from Akita Prefecture. Thank you for the feast! [Tabelog rating] ☆3.08 [Tanuki rating (night)] ★Overall... 39 points ★Ambiance... 8 points ★Food... 8 points ★Signature menu... 9 points ★Cost performance... 7 points ★Likelihood to revisit... 7 points

I went to a restaurant called "En" for the first time! It's located in Sumikawa and we started with a drink for our first round of drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy with a traditional Japanese feel. I had a classic beer which was delicious. The food was also great, especially the Kiritampo hot pot and the smoked platter. The sashimi salad was fresh and the meat-wrapped kiritampo was tasty. We also tried a unique dish called Tonburi one-bite pizza, which had a seaweed flavor. The selection of sake was impressive, and I got to try three different kinds. Overall, the service was quick and the food and atmosphere were excellent. Thank you to the organizers for a great experience at En restaurant!

In November 2019, we had a gathering at a small family-run restaurant near Sumikawa Station, specializing in local sake and Akita traditional cuisine. The cozy interior had a 6-seat table and a 7-seat counter. We were a group of 13, so we decided to rent out the whole place for a more relaxed atmosphere. Until 7 pm, beer was only 390 yen, so we indulged in some drinks. The appetizer price was around 350 yen, and we enjoyed dishes like cold tofu, fried fish, and the delicious local specialty, kiritanpo. Kiritanpo hot pot was a new experience for us, and we also tried the meat-wrapped kiritanpo and the tasty pork cartilage meatballs. The restaurant also offers a great selection of drinks, and the counter seating is perfect for small groups. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

The organizer planned a party in 2019 called "I want to eat Kiritampo" and rented out a restaurant with a counter and table seats for about 13 people. Instead of a party course, they ordered individual dishes in advance, with the Kiritampo hot pot already ordered by the organizer. Despite one person being late, they toasted with draft beer. The landlady ignited the pot until steam rose, then added celery, a necessary ingredient for the Kiritampo hot pot. The pot also contained chicken innards, which were omitted for those who didn't like them. The group enjoyed the meal with beer and later switched to sake. The landlady even spoke with a regional accent upon request. Although some were initially dissatisfied with the drink options, the restaurant was recommended for its sake paired with Kiritampo.

I participated in a kiritanpo event at Sumikawa. It was a private event starting at 6 o'clock, as written on the blackboard outside. We used both counter and table seats. We started with a toast with beer, which was delicious. The appetizers were tofu and another dish (not sure what it was). Then kiritanpo hot pot was served, and thank you to the participants who shared it with us. It was a bit salty and rich in flavor. The cheese platter was tasty. The crunchy texture of the cartilage meatballs was great, but it was also rich in flavor. The seafood salad was overpowered by the dressing. For drinks, we had 2 beers, compared different types of sake, tried a lemon sour (with no lemon flavor in the carbonated water), and confirmed that the lemon sour here is made with the same carbonated water. Thank you for the meal.

My older brother surprised us by coming back home to Hokkaido from Sendai in November 2019. It was great to gather a lot of people and have a private party at an Akita cuisine restaurant, enjoying kiritanpo hot pot. I am grateful to the organizer for making the reservation. We had a tasting set of different kinds of sake, chosen by the staff. Although my favorite light and dry sake was not included, the ones we tried were still enjoyable. The kiritanpo hot pot had a rich and flavorful broth. The smoked platter with Hinai chicken, wild boar, and sandfish was delicious, especially the wild boar. I would love to have a wild boar-themed gathering next time. The sake "Jikomi" had a good aroma, balanced sweetness, and a taste that doesn't get boring. I struggled a bit making a lemon sour, seems like it's not my forte. They also offer individual servings of kiritanpo hot pot, so I might come back for that sometime. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The third venue for the first party is here. It's a Akita cuisine restaurant, with a cozy atmosphere where we have the place to ourselves with 13 people. When it gets cold, hot pot is the way to go, right? But I usually opt for easy hot pot at home, so I don't feel like eating things like tarachiri hot pot, motsu hot pot, or shabu-shabu at a restaurant... But kiritanpo hot pot is something I wouldn't have at home! Exciting~♪ They also have Akita sake? I asked about a tasting set, but they said the brand will be a surprise. What? Then I'll just order a single one! ◆Gikyou Junmai Ginjo 70cc 550 yen It's from Aichi, but I remember this brand from the Go-around event where I met the handsome representative of the brewery. Polished to 50%, it's like a daiginjo! Easy to drink and refreshing. For food, a few dishes were arranged in advance by the organizer. ◆Kiritanpo hot pot (per person) 1350 yen x 5 We're going to a few more places, so they adjusted the portion for us. The broth is delicious! The kiritanpo is flavorful, and the celery is nice too! ◆Iburi Gakkou Cream Cheese Assortment 580 yen Iburi gakkou cheese, cream cheese, camembert. Goes well with sake! ◆Meat-wrapped kiritanpo 630 yen Like a meat-wrapped onigiri. The sauce is rich and flavorful. ◆Abukuma Junmai Ginjo 70cc 600 yen Sake from Fukushima. Sake can be expensive, so I'll sip on this slowly. It has a strong flavor. ◆Smoked Assortment 980 yen Whale bacon, wild boar bacon, Hichinai chicken Rare! It might be my first time trying wild boar! ◆Ichihaku Mizunari Junmai Ginjo 70cc 600 yen Finally, I had to have Akita sake! Sake brewed with Miyama Nishiki rice. It's dry and crisp! Akita sake tends to be on the dry side, I feel. In the end, it seems like I only had one type of Akita sake.

The Akita local dish Kiritanpo hot pot was really delicious. The shop is run by a master and a mother from Akita, so you can taste the authentic flavors. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. They also have a wide selection of Akita sake. It seems they have dishes not listed on the menu as well.

Located a 3-minute walk from Sumikawa Station on the Namboku Line, En is a restaurant that a friend who loves sake has been recently visiting. Run by a couple from Akita Prefecture, the restaurant offers Akita cuisine such as kiritampo, Hinai-jidori, and Inaniwa udon, along with a wide selection of Japanese sake, particularly junmai ginjo types. The regular sake menu includes labels like Juyondai, Jokigen, Tokugetsu, Nabeshima, and Shinsei, as well as various sake from Tohoku. You can choose from two sizes: 70ml for 500-600 yen or 140ml for 900-1,200 yen. The prices may be a bit high considering the location. The cozy interior has a counter and two tables, creating a calm atmosphere. The master and his wife are friendly and provide detailed explanations of the menu. From July 11th to 16th, they offer a "drink set" which includes one appetizer, draft beer, Karahou, Juyondai Honmaru, and Tokugetsu Special Junmai (draft beer in a mug, sake in 140ml) for 3,000 yen. We ordered the following dishes: macaroni salad appetizer, meat-wrapped kiritampo, dashimaki tamago with tonburi, Iburi Gakko cheese assortment, and ganmo from a tofu shop. For drinks, we had beer, Karahou Yamahai Junmai (140ml), Gohyakubu Blue Label (140ml), and Hanayouyoku Junmai Daiginjo Muroka Nama (70ml). The atmosphere was lively with many regular customers engaging in sake discussions with the master. The food was delicious, and the sake selection was impressive, making for a pleasant dining experience.

Located at 3-3-1 Sumikawa, Minami-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido, this authentic Akita cuisine restaurant is run by a couple from Akita Prefecture. They serve Akita specialties such as kiritanpo, Inaniwa udon, and carefully selected Japanese sake. I was intrigued by the kiritanpo and decided to visit. The restaurant has 2 table seats and can accommodate around 8 people at the counter, where a variety of Japanese sake is displayed. I ordered grilled squid, smoked Hinai chicken, and Japanese sake. The kiritanpo, especially the meat-wrapped kiritanpo, was incredibly delicious. The grilled squid paired well with the sake, making it a perfect snack. I also enjoyed other Akita dishes such as iburi gakko and tsukune potatoes in a hot pot. It was a satisfying and delicious evening. The owner is friendly, so even if you visit alone, you can have a great time. I would love to visit this restaurant again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This place is located in Sumikawa in Minami Ward, across from the popular street of Fukuzumi Kuwazono. It's a bit hard to explain, so please check the map on Tabelog as usual. To explain this location to a non-local, it's where a ramen shop used to be, across the street from a popular restaurant. When you arrive, park your car in the parking lot next to the shop and head inside. Sit at the counter and take a look at the menu. It seems like the main lunch items are Inaniwa udon and oyakodon, so I ordered a mini set with both. It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. The oyakodon portion looked small at first glance. The oyakodon had a lot of onions and the egg seemed a bit overcooked. The broth was surprisingly sweet, with an Akita-style seasoning. I would have preferred a bit less sweetness and more dashi flavor. The portion size was more like a half-size. Next was the Inaniwa udon, which I've only had a few times before. The noodles had a smooth texture, but the dipping sauce was quite thin, more like somen broth. I would have liked a stronger bonito flavor in the broth. The portion size was about a third of a regular udon serving, so it felt quite small. Overall, both dishes seemed more like a light meal to finish off a night of drinking or eating, so if they are offered as a set lunch, a portion size for 1.5 people would be more satisfying.

I went to this restaurant with a friend. It seems like it opened last year, and the interior was clean and calming. The restaurant originally had a store in Akita specializing in kiritanpo, so I heard that you could try authentic kiritanpo here. We ordered the "meat-wrapped kiritanpo" right away! I have had kiritanpo a few times before, but after trying it here, my image of kiritanpo has changed! The flavor of the meat seeped into the soft kiritanpo, and it was very delicious. We also ordered the "Inaniwa udon"! It was my first time trying Inaniwa udon, and the firm noodles paired perfectly with the light and tasty sauce. The restaurant had a row of Japanese sake bottles, all of which I had never seen in Hokkaido. According to the staff, it seems like these are hard to come by in Hokkaido. Oh, and the hand towel had a really nice scent... maybe it's an expensive hand towel. I was very satisfied and the food was delicious! Authentic flavors from Tohoku! I definitely want to come back. Thank you for the meal!

Visited the restaurant with the intention of trying out different types of sake. Saw the sign for "Kanayobi" and decided to order it. It had a rich and delicious flavor. Noticed a sign inside the restaurant offering discounts on days with a "0". So, I decided to order the discounted "Dewazakura". It was also tasty, but compared to "Kanayobi", the flavor seemed a bit muted. I thought maybe I should have ordered them in reverse order, but that's just hindsight. The total bill came to 2200 yen. "Kanayobi" was 1200 yen, and "Dewazakura" was half price at 600 yen. After subtracting, the difference was 400 yen in total.
