Restaurant Sanyo-san in Morimachi is located near the entrance or rather the exit, around the corner heading towards the Takamatsu Interchange on Route 5. It's a drive-in that has been around for a long time, possibly under the same management. I remember visiting about 30 years ago, and back then I thought, "It's expensive." Looking at the menu now, it still seems pricey. Lucky Pierrot is right across the street, so I might prefer that (laughs). I ordered the Ramen Set from the lunch menu for 880 yen, which seems like a good deal. It took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The ramen has a unique smell, somewhat reminiscent of ramen from a yakiniku restaurant. The noodles are very soft, suitable even for elderly customers. Overall, it's a bit salty. The fried chicken in the set is delicious, and I would like to try the fried chicken set if they have one (laughs). With rice included, I'm full! Thank you for the meal. If I have the chance, I might visit again next time.

I had lamb steak which was very tender and juicy with a satisfying texture. The garlic-flavored sauce paired perfectly with it. I will definitely visit again.

During the journey from Hakodate to Onuma, I wanted to grab a quick meal but both Lucky Pierrot and Cologne seemed crowded. So I decided to try out Yansan, a place I had seen before but never been to. Unlike the neighboring restaurants, Yansan was not as busy inside. Although it wasn't on the menu, they were able to make zaru soba which I ordered, along with shoyu ramen and fried dumplings as my companion wanted. The noodles were average in taste and price. It's convenient to have a place like this where you can get soba and ramen. The fried dumplings were quite delicious, with a juicy filling that made me a bit wary of getting burnt. The interior had a drive-in vibe, and I didn't have high expectations for service, so it wasn't an issue for me. Yansan is located on the left side when heading from Hakodate to Sapporo.

Exiting the Onuma Koen IC on the highway and turning right onto Route 5 towards Hakodate, you will immediately see a restaurant on your right. It is connected to a yakiniku restaurant called "Genghis Khan," but the restaurant itself is called "Restaurant Sanyo." There were about 7 male customers who seemed to be returning from a funeral, seated at window-side tables when I arrived after 1 pm. Looking at the menu, they offered a variety of dishes such as hamburgers, stone-grilled steak, beef, chicken, lamb, pork curry, soba, ramen, udon, and Japanese set meals, as well as carp sashimi and squid sashimi. Not wanting to spend too much, I ended up ordering the hamburger set from the first page of the menu. The set arrived in about 10 minutes, consisting of a hot 200g hamburger on a sizzling hot plate, with a small fried egg, french fries, sweet corn, bell pepper, and sliced onions underneath. The hamburger was not the juicy type, but rather a well-seasoned blend of ground meat, minced onions, and breadcrumbs. The demiglace sauce had a good balance of flavors and was delicious. I overheard a conversation between the customers and the staff, mentioning that they also offer a service where they fry the wakasagi fish caught during ice fishing on Junzai Numa for an additional fee.
