ハチワレキジシロ
Sushi refugees find solace in fried oysters and macaroni salad. After that, my husband is fine as long as he can drink alcohol, so we decided to check out this place we found at that time! We entered from the back, so we couldn't see the whole picture of the place and were unsure if it was open. "Are you open?" I asked, and the response was, "Yes, please come in." Inside, there was a large screen playing music videos. The adult gentleman working there had a slim figure and a wolf cut hairstyle, giving off a vibe that he might be into music. We looked at the handwritten menu of the day's specials and noticed the attention to detail. The options included Gâteau au Chocolat with homemade rum raisin ice cream, orange juice, gin and tonic, and orange gin and tonic. When my husband asked about the gin and tonic options, the gentleman pointed to the second shelf on a shelf and let him choose from the high-end gins available. Here's where it gets interesting! I have been suffering from severe back pain and taking a lot of medication, so I have been avoiding alcohol. I ordered orange juice, and the gentleman kindly showed me the bottle of rum raisins, saying, "The rum is well soaked, so the alcohol has evaporated. Are you okay with that?" Alcohol is not completely off-limits with my medication, so a little bit is fine. Later, the gentleman started whipping the cream for the Gâteau au Chocolat! I was surprised to see him, with his appearance, making desserts by hand. It's a nice touch! After a short wait, the cream arrived, perfectly whipped to seven minutes. It must be hard to make it in advance, I see! The Gâteau au Chocolat came with two slices, and it was rich and incredibly delicious. The center was gooey, and it paired well with the cream. The rum raisins were plump and fresh, bursting in the mouth with a strong rum flavor. Together with the ice cream, it was amazing. The orange gin and tonic was freshly squeezed and strained, showing the effort put into making it. A couple in the back was enjoying pasta, which must have been delicious. This place was a complete surprise, as we had no prior knowledge of it when we decided to visit. As we looked into it further while inside, we found out that the gentleman had worked with Chef Ochiai, which was interesting. We were lucky to have found such a great restaurant, and my husband's keen sense of smell led us to it. With no cover charge, the total bill was only 3,600 yen! Affordable, delicious, and entertaining. If we're ever in the area, we'll definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful meal.
