The shop is located about 40 minutes from Takikawa Station on the Hakodate Main Line. It is situated on the first floor of Aeon Takikawa store along National Route 38. The shop next door is Kentucky Fried Chicken at Aeon Takikawa store. Established in 1949, it is one of the leading confectionery shops in Hokkaido. This time, I tried the Caramel Honey Sandwich. It is about 6.5cm x 3.5cm in size. The sandwich consists of caramel-flavored sauce with a hint of honey sandwiched between white chocolate and crispy cookies. Despite looking very sweet, it had just the right amount of sweetness and was delicious. The fact that each piece is individually wrapped is also nice.

The Bon festival trip ended up being a 2-night, 3-day trip due to the bride's schedule. The strong impression was climbing Mt. Tarumae in a big storm. As it was time to head back, we stopped in Sapporo, and I suddenly realized I hadn't bought a souvenir for Grandma. My wife mentioned the sign for Hokkairo, but I thought there were more shops on the Sapporo Sweets Road. I wasn't sure, but the know-it-all dad in me thought there must be more besides Hokkairo. But as we neared the highway interchange, my wife said, "We're practically in Takikawa already." Well, there's no choice but to get on the highway since we're running late. As soon as I resigned myself to it, I noticed there was an Aeon mall nearby. I thought, wasn't there something here before? Inside, I found a Morimoto store. I didn't care where we bought the souvenir from as long as we could get it. After some hesitation, I bought chestnut sweets, Mont Blanc, and strawberry shortcake. The chestnut sweets were for us as well. In times like this, it's up to my sister to decide what to do with the cake. Of course, Morimoto's cakes are delicious. The "Chestnut Tsuzura" steamed bun had a soft outer layer and a gentle texture. Inside, white bean paste enveloped the chestnut, with a refined taste. The large chestnut in the middle added a strong flavor that complemented the overall taste. Truly a delicious treat.

Before going to visit the grave in August 2016, I decided to buy some offerings and visited Morimoto. I also bought some Senso Umare no Tamago Manju for snacks. I fell in love with them from the first bite. The manju, which looks like an egg, has a soft and colorful filling that is smooth and delicious. I heard that they use a special type of red bean called Kokumaro from Chitose for these manju. Thank you for the delicious food! ✿ฺ(๑´ڡ`๑)✿ฺ.

May 2013, on a certain day, first visit. Continuing from the previous story, it's the Takikawa business trip series. On the way back from the business trip, heading towards Takikawa IC, there was a Daiei store. I remembered there was a bakery there... so I decided to go in. However, it was close to 8 pm and all the bread was sold out (tears). Disappointed, I was about to leave when I saw Morimoto-san's bakery! This shop opened in 2011, being the first store in Sorachi Subprefecture. I had already bought eclairs and such at Umeya, so I was just "browsing" and checking out their selection when I noticed a corner that stood out saying, "Sapporo Sweets 2013 Baked Goods Division Grand Prize Winner!" There were newly released award-winning products lined up. I had to buy something! (laughs) Today's purchases: - Sapporo Odori Park Soy Cookie for 525 yen. This is the Sapporo Sweets 2013 Baked Goods Division Grand Prize-winning product. It was made with the image of the scenery of Odori Park in Sapporo. The crispy cookie goes well with white chocolate and matcha. The savory aroma of soy and a hint of saltiness make it delicious. It was a big hit at home and disappeared in no time. It's also a reasonably priced souvenir. I might like this more than last year's corn galette. - Chick Manju for 80 yen. This is a seasonal limited product. I bought it for my daughter. It seems to have a sweet red bean paste with a mild sweetness. - Mirufe Strawberry and Melon for 140 yen each. This is a variation of the favorite product Mirufe. I bought the seasonal limited flavors. It's a pie pastry coated with white chocolate scented with strawberry or melon. It has a quite rich taste, slightly overpowering, but it was good to share with my daughter. They didn't have a wide variety of cakes, but they had good options for everyday use. In rural areas, there are often disappointments in terms of service, but Morimoto-san's bakery was exceptional in customer service. I might visit again when I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal!

Takigawa Daiei has this shop that opened last year. They don't sell bread like Hakariuri here, but they do have the classic "King's Chocolate Crown"! In addition to Western sweets, they also have a wide variety of Japanese sweets, which is very appealing. King's Chocolate Crown is a bread filled with a lot of chocolate. It's very voluminous, with a crispy outer layer and a fluffy inside that is addictive. It's great for sharing with friends because of its generous portion. I bought cheesecake and chocolate cake this time. Only these were left in the evening. The chocolate cake has a fluffy sponge and cream with a surprisingly mild sweetness. The cheesecake is amazing! It's rich, moist, and has just the right cheesecake flavor. I also bought several other Western sweets. They are all moist and just the right amount of sweetness. What's great is that each one has a distinct cheese flavor in the cheesecake, and a chocolate flavor in the chocolate ones. My favorite is the "Florentine", which is moist with plenty of almonds on top of a tart crust. The buttery taste spreads in your mouth with each bite, and it's packed with sweetness! It's a recommended item. They also sell boxed souvenirs here, so it's sure to be appreciated as a gift when visiting someone. Thank you for the meal!

Last summer, a new shop was opened. It is a small space facing the food section of Daiei. The variety of items may seem limited (or maybe not?), but they have a good selection of cakes and popular sweets. The cakes are generally on the lighter side, so even if you're not a fan of overly sweet treats, you might enjoy them. The most popular item is the King Shortcake, which is a large cake with a satisfying taste. They also offer a wide range of seasonal limited edition cakes. However, the cakes are not available until 11 am. Birthday cakes can be pre-ordered up to 3 days in advance.

I found this at Seijo Ishii. It's a Bousse from a manufacturer in Hokkaido. I was drawn to it by the label that said "Butter and Cheese Cream". Inside the fluffy Bousse dough, there is indeed a cream made of butter and cheese. It has a taste that is like a mix of salty cheese-infused butter cream, or a cream cheese with a higher fat content. The saltiness enhances the flavors of butter and cheese. I wish I had bought one more...

This is a gift from a neighboring company at work. I remember receiving a gift set from Morimoto before. It contains various items, but the Snow Crane is a long-selling buss. I have never tried the Chocola with buttercream, but the Financier always has a stable taste. The Castella is sweet. It was a treat.

The "mori mori" cookies from the accessory brand "daikimono" come in a pack of 9 cookies with 6 different flavors. The "Hazelnut" cookie had a crunchy nutty texture with a citrusy acidity, although I couldn't find any citrus ingredients listed. The "Cheese" cookie had a rich cheese flavor that would pair well with beer. There were two "Chocolate" cookies with plenty of chocolate chips. The "Orange" cookie had a slightly bitter taste from almond and orange peel, with a crunchy texture. There were two "Coconut" cookies with a crumbly texture and a delicious coconut flavor. The two "Butter" cookies had a firm texture, but surprisingly lacked the aroma of butter. If I could buy them individually, I would choose the Cheese, Chocolate, and Orange flavors. The Coconut was also tasty, but I was a bit concerned about the artificial coloring.
