Today's work was at "Rumoi City Hospital"… I arrived in the afternoon and first things first, lunch. I confirmed that there was a restaurant on the top floor, so I took the elevator up to the 6th floor. On the 6th floor, besides the "Restaurant," there was a beauty salon, vending machines, and a few sofas by the large windows with a nice view, creating a rest area. There was also a shop next to it, but it seemed to be closed today. I entered "Restaurant Lounge II" after looking at the menu outside and sat at the bright counter with a nice view of Rumoi town through the hospital parking lot. The friendly lady brought me some water right away, and I ordered the "Tanuki Soba (hot) @600 (tax included)." It was served in about 5 minutes with tempura flakes and chopped green onions as toppings, accompanied by a lotus flower on the tray. The soba noodles seemed to be of decent quality and the dipping sauce was typical of what you find in institutional food lately. I don't dislike the taste, but it's a bit disappointing that everywhere serves the same thing...Feels like a chain restaurant! I wish they would add some unique touches to the toppings...The price of 600 yen is not the best value, considering it's inside a hospital, it might be sufficient for those visiting patients. I found a takeout-only café on the first floor, so I'll go there for coffee after lunch. Thank you for the meal.
