When you come to Nayoro, you have to try the Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) dish. Here, you can purchase 500 grams for around 600 yen. The price is reasonable and I really like the taste of the sauce. This time, I bought thick and thin slices of Genghis Khan, 500 grams each. I also bought a Genghis Khan pot at AEON and had Genghis Khan at home by myself. It tastes even better when eaten in this pot. The sauce has a rich flavor with a hint of pepper, but the sesame adds a unique nuttiness. It goes well with beer and rice. Of course, it's also fantastic with udon noodles as a finishing touch.

I came to Nayoro after a long time and bought some meat. I purchased guts, stomach, tsukune, and lamb shoulder loin. Looking forward to enjoying them with drinks in the evening.

◆April 2016◆ Speaking of Nayoro, Genghis Khan is also famous. I searched for a place to buy it and found two nearby, but one was closed. So, I decided to visit Iroha Nikuten near Nishijo. The shop is quite new and clean. They sell packed horumon and Genghis Khan. The Genghis Khan comes in thin and thick slices, both priced at around 1300 yen per kilogram. They were willing to sell me 500g of each, so I bought both thin and thick slices. The service was good and the prices were reasonable. I cooked it at home with Sekoma vegetables. It had a nice black pepper flavor and was surprisingly light. The meat was tender and had no unpleasant smell. I only ate half, but I could have easily finished the whole 500g.

Received from Nayoro, the seasoned lamb "iroha." One pack contains 600g of meat and 400g of sauce. The thickly sliced lamb is tender and the fat is delicious. The sauce is also tasty. It's so delicious that one person can easily finish one pack.
