Thank you for viewing. I visited "Ichihou Main Store," a recipient of the Tempura Hyakumeiten 2023 award, for lunch. Congratulations on being one of the top 100 stores. The restaurant is located a 1-2 minute walk from Higobashi Station, near Edobori Kamidoori. Both the exterior and interior of the restaurant exude a sense of tradition and elegance. Upon entering, you must take off your shoes. It is a spacious and elegant traditional restaurant with a total of 5 rooms, each dedicated to a minimum of 2 people. The tempura is fried by a dedicated chef in each room, creating a luxurious atmosphere. They use only safflower oil for frying, resulting in a light and crispy coating that is easy to eat. The dashi broth is made using natural water from the Nasu mountain range. The tempura dishes, such as sweet corn, onions, crunchy Morocco green beans, and juicy asparagus, were all delicious. The menu I had that day included "Kombu Tea," "Water Moon Tofu," "Salad," "Prawn," "Shiitake Mushroom," "Kisu Fish," "Water Eggplant," "Sweet Potato," "Prawn with Perilla Leaf," "Sweet Corn," "Wakasagi Smelt," "Morocco Green Beans," "Anago Eel," "Onion," "Prawn Legs x2," "Asparagus," "Lotus Root," "Sweet Potato Manju," "Ice Cream Sandwich," and "Pickles." I didn't know there was such a restaurant in the city center. The service was excellent, and I had a comfortable experience from start to finish. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I called 40 minutes before my visit to confirm availability, and they said they could accommodate a course without sashimi. The tempura with summer ingredients like water eggplant, corn, and conger eel wrapped in a light batter was exquisite. The tempura rice bowl came with seven different types of pickles on the side.

It's been a while since my last visit, but the private booth with a great atmosphere and excellent hospitality in this traditional setting always satisfies me. The oil used for frying is clean and transparent, causing no heartburn, and the tempura is as amazing as ever. The prices are a bit high, but considering the location, the building, and the beautiful garden, it's understandable.

I visited Ichihou, a wonderful restaurant that feels like a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). I was excited to finally try it out. The tempura served in a private room just for us was exceptional. It felt very special. The tempura was crispy with a light batter. They must use good oil to achieve such a light color. Every ingredient was delicious. I would love to visit again at night next time.

Kenzo Estate, it exists! I used it for a celebration of someone I am grateful for. When you pass through the big gate like a ryokan, the entrance is also like a ryokan. Each group is guided to a private room, and each room comes with a chef and a waitress. The tempura is carefully fried one by one, and the tempura oil is naturally clean. The interior is old, but all the cooking utensils are sparkling clean, and it is well maintained. While eating fried food, I usually fight the fear of heartburn, but here I didn't feel any discomfort at all, thanks to the asatsuyu at Kenzo Estate. When the glass is empty, the waitress will pour more for you, but I wish they had left the bottle at my table (lol). I couldn't take any photos (;´・ω・) It seems perfect for celebrations, meetings, or important client entertainment.

Starting with shrimp, there are also various types of fish such as kiss, conger eel, and sweetfish. Along with seasonal vegetables...and more shrimp! The course begins with regular shrimp, then moves on to shrimp with perilla leaves, and finishes with shrimp again. Tempura lovers who also love shrimp will find this tempura course irresistible.

I was guided to a room at the upscale Tempura Ichibou Honten in Osaka's Higobashi area, where the manager and the female owner were present in the room, providing excellent service. We started with Kenzo Estate's Asatsuyu tea. We opted for the Dojima Course, which included sashimi, 14 pieces of tempura, tempura rice bowl or tempura tea, and dessert for 26,565 yen. The appetizers were edamame, tofu, Yoshino kudzu, shrimp head, seasonal dishes like sea bream liver, green onion with mustard vinegar miso, bamboo shoot with tree buds, grilled octopus, and broad beans. The tempura dishes included shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, Japanese whiting, butterbur sprouts, sweet potatoes, shrimp and shiso roll, lotus root, squid, bamboo shoots, white asparagus, conger eel, and steamed bun. We had a bottle of Chablis white wine. The meal ended with a choice of dessert between strawberries and citrus fruits, all of which were outstanding and we finished everything without leaving any leftovers.

I visited Ichihosan, a Michelin-starred restaurant, for the first time about 15 years ago. It has a nostalgic feel with its traditional atmosphere and private dining rooms. However, during my recent visit, I noticed that the taste has changed quite a bit from before. The tempura seemed a bit over-fried this time, with matsutake mushrooms being too dry and other ingredients like ginkgo nuts, rice cakes, and wheat gluten being too hard. Despite the high prices, the tempura is light and not greasy, making it easy to keep eating. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp, cuttlefish, and "Inka no Mezame" (a type of fish) tempura. I ended my meal with a delicious tempura rice bowl. Overall, the meal was good, but for the first time in all my visits, I felt that the price was a bit high for what was offered. Perhaps the current situation with COVID-19 has affected the availability and freshness of ingredients.

Last week and this week, I visited Ichihou-san, who was recommended by the concierge service for my wife's birthday. When I asked my wife what she wanted to eat, she said "tempura", so I decided to try the best tempura. Ichihou-san's tempura was different from the usual ones with thick batter and strong seasoning. The batter was light and crispy. I realized that cheap tempura is all about the batter, while expensive tempura focuses on the ingredients. When we tried Ichihou-san's tempura, both my wife and I agreed that it was "completely different" from what we had before. It was a true luxury experience, different from what you would find at a traditional Japanese restaurant. The tempura was delicious, with fluffy white fish, crunchy onions, tender conger eel, and juicy shrimp. The service was impeccable, and I felt that the price was justified for the quality of food and service. We left satisfied, and my son even requested to go back for his birthday, saying he wanted to try the tempura that Mom and Dad had. Three days later, we visited Ichihou-san again, and even my son exclaimed, "completely different" with a smile when he tasted the tempura.

Revisited for a weekday lunch. Still seems like there are hardly any customers. Nonetheless, the head chef personally fried the dishes, and the staff's attentiveness was wonderful. We enjoyed spring ingredients like bamboo shoots and butterbur, as well as the classic shrimp and shiitake mushrooms. The finale of tempura tea was also delicious. As it was a celebration, we received a small serving of red rice, which was a thoughtful gesture. We are rooting for this place!!

With a garden! Stepping through the modest entrance gate of a long-established tempura restaurant, you enter the building without realizing it. The large entrance, hallway with a view of the garden, and an atmosphere that seems like where corrupt politicians would have secret meetings in movies or TV dramas. Now, enjoy a tempura course meal in a private room, where the chef fries seafood and vegetables in front of you one by one. Eating freshly fried tempura is pure bliss! I like the Edo-style sesame oil, but the Kansai-style is also light and easy to eat. Finally, I had a mixed tempura rice bowl and dessert. #Exciting #Restaurant #Ippoh #TempuraKappo

The restaurant is located a 2-3 minute walk west from exit 9 of Higobashi Station on the Yotsubashi Subway Line. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be guided to a room called "Kirino Ma" where you will be served roasted green tea and toast with draft beer. I had the Saturday special lunch course "Matsu" which included additional drinks such as Hakkaisan sake and Uyokichi sweet potato shochu. The course included dishes like tofu made with black soybeans, crispy prawn tempura, assorted appetizers, sashimi, and tempura served in a private room. The tempura dishes included prawns, mushrooms, horse mackerel, chestnut, pumpkin, and more. After finishing the tempura, we returned to Kirino Ma for the main dish which was a tempura rice bowl with red miso soup and pickles. The meal ended with a fruit jelly dessert containing grapes, muscat, melon, pear, and persimmon. It was a luxurious and satisfying lunch experience.

I always feel luxurious when I visit the tempura restaurant "Ippou"♡ The dishes are so elegant that I always end up ordering more because the portions seem too small (laughs). This time, they kindly brought me extra grated radish multiple times (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))♪♪ The cheese tempura was delicious♡

At the request of my little sister, we had a fun birthday celebration for "Ipposan" with cheerful older brothers ❤ It's a rare opportunity to visit this restaurant, so I'm also happy (*^-^) When we arrived at the restaurant, my little sister's eyes sparkled just by looking at the entrance ✨ We started with a toast with white wine. The simmered blowfish was delicious and refreshing ❤ The appetizers had a touch of spring in them. The cold sake was also delicious. Along with the sashimi, we had a bite of red rice, which was a nice touch ❤ Now, we moved to another room for tempura. We started with shrimp, thinly coated and rare inside, delicious ❤ It was great to have tempura made just for us at the perfect timing (๑>◡<๑) The excitement was high, and the drinks kept flowing. For the finale, we could choose between tempura tea or tempura rice bowl. They also prepared a cake, which made my little sister very happy ❤ It was a fun, delicious, and wonderful dining experience.

The restaurant environment was wonderful and the service was excellent. The tempura was delicious, with the flavors of the ingredients really shining through. They even had a unique tempura made with soy cheese, which was a fun twist. Despite being full, I couldn't resist the tendon (tempura rice bowl) at the end. We dined with children and appreciated having a private room to enjoy our meal without worrying about disturbing others. They provided small spoons, but no forks, so be sure to bring your own if needed.

Located in Higo Bridge, "Ippo" is a tempura restaurant that feels like a traditional Japanese inn. Each table is a private room where a chef fries tempura right in front of you. I love grated daikon radish, and they happily kept bringing me more. It's a wonderful place to enjoy delicious tempura in a beautiful setting.

I was invited to a reception, so there are no photos. The head chef fried the food in a second-floor room. It is a long-established restaurant where famous people from around the world have visited. The tempura included shrimp, squid, shiitake mushrooms, sand borer fish, onions, shrimp and shiso rolls, fresh wheat gluten, conger eel, pumpkin, and a few others. The last dish was a bean-paste-filled steamed bun. The flavors of the ingredients were distinct, and the tempura only served to enhance them. Everything was delicious!! It was the first time I had tempura that didn't cause heartburn. The final dish, tempura tea, was also delicious, and despite tempura being a common cause of heartburn, I didn't experience any! Amazing!! I was impressed by the tempura tea, which allowed the flavor of the tea to shine through. I heard that the oil is changed for each customer. I would love to visit again if given the chance.

The restaurant's appearance is impressive, from the entrance to the interior, it gives off a sense of luxury and elegance. The staff warmly welcomes you, adding to the overall experience. However, when it comes to the food, the tempura dishes are good but not exceptional considering the high prices. They use traditional ingredients without any unique offerings. Some courses include sashimi, which is also average. The prices may be justified by the restaurant's ambiance, making it suitable for entertaining foreign guests but not worth it for regular visits on a personal budget.

It is the best tempura in Japan. Despite being in the middle of Osaka, it is a quiet and elegant establishment. You start with appetizers in the room, then move to a separate room for the tempura. The chef adjusts the frying oil and time for each ingredient. I have also been to Ichihou in Chayamachi, but the tempura here is truly amazing. The batter is thin and crispy, bringing out the sweetness of the shrimp, the lightness of the fish, and the deliciousness of the vegetables. The tempura of steamed bun at the end is so good that you would want to eat it all day. Even after eating so much, the final tempura tea soup goes down smoothly. I have visited twice, but I would go back as many times as I can.
