I went to have dinner at Yakiniku Takimoto in Sakai, a gourmet pork restaurant for eating out every day. It's a popular place, so I made a reservation in advance before visiting. It's about a 10-minute walk from JR Sakai Station on the Hankai Line, so I drove there because the access is not very good. There was a coin parking lot nearby, so I parked my car there. Sakai has many famous yakiniku restaurants such as "Nama Horumon Tokoro Osamuchan," "Tsunechan," and "Yakiniku Katsuragi." There are also affiliated stores nearby like "Horumon Standing Bar Takimoto" and "Motsunabe Motsushabu Takimoto." Although Horumon Standing Bar Takimoto has a standing bar in its name, I was able to sit on a chair and eat when I visited. You can easily spot it with the red tent with "Takimoto" written on it. The interior of the restaurant has about 50 seats, including table seats and tatami mats, creating a casual atmosphere. You can order using the provided tablet, so I could easily order without hesitation, which was great for someone with a big appetite like me (laughs). ■ Drinks I had (per person) ☆ Oolong tea 227 yen ■ Dishes I had (per person) ☆ Sirloin steak 1 piece, about 250g, approximately 5665 yen ~ This sirloin steak is as impressive as those from high-end steak restaurants. The texture is similar to the Chateaubriand at Sumiyaki Kinryuzan. It's tender with a moderate marbling but doesn't make you feel heavy at all. I finished over 250g in no time by myself (laughs). ☆ Tongue steak 1 piece, about 100g, approximately 2266 yen This uses a thick cut of tongue meat. It's a tasty tongue steak with a good amount of fat. ☆ Homemade roast beef 1011 yen This is a recommended dish from the restaurant. The volume of the meat is quite substantial. The chilled roast beef goes well with the sauce. ☆ Original salad 832 yen Served with homemade sesame dressing. ☆ Egg soup (small) 475 yen The total cost was a little over 10,000 yen per person. For such a price to have such high-quality meat, it's truly a wonderful yakiniku restaurant! As expected of a butcher shop. Takimoto used to have a rating of nearly 4 on Tabelog. It has now dropped to 3.68 (as of May 2023), but in my opinion, it's still a restaurant that deserves more than 4 points! Why are there so many wonderful yakiniku restaurants in Sakai? If there was one near my house, I would have visited every month (laughs). The service from the owner and staff was great, and I had a fun yakiniku time. Thank you for the meal. Visited by reservation at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Managed to make a reservation by calling in the evening on the same day, but the restaurant was almost full by 6:00 p.m. The entrance is a bit hard to find. It feels like entering through a butcher shop and going towards the back. Orders are mainly placed through a touch panel, and the service is relatively quick. The quality of the meat is decent for the price, but not exceptional. I think the rice is quite overpriced.

I had always wanted to visit this place, so I decided to celebrate Respect for the Aged Day with dinner here. I made a reservation over the phone a week in advance. When I arrived at 6:00 PM and parked in the parking lot behind the restaurant, it was already almost full. It's a well-known place with a sign specializing in black wagyu beef and domestic hormones. We ordered using a tablet. We got the recommended 5 kinds of assorted meats for 4,500 yen, 5 kinds of hormone assortment for 1,900 yen, a small kimchi assortment, chisha cabbage, garlic foil-grilled rice x2, cold noodles, salted tongue x3, draft beer, and bottled beer. The quality of the meat was excellent and fresh, so we made sure not to overcook the marbled meat. My elementary school-aged child seemed to find the fatty parts a bit too much and only ate the salted tongue. The total came to around 16,000 yen. It was definitely worth the price.

I visited this yakiniku restaurant because I wanted to eat delicious meat at a reasonable price. The lineup of meats is of high quality, no matter which one you choose. The meats are categorized as special selection, premium, and high grade, with the trend being that the higher you go, the more marbled and tender the meat with more fat content. Some may find the premium grade to be just right. Personally, I felt that the special selection for tongue and harami, and premium for kalbi were perfect. Other features include free barley tea served in a jug, generous portion sizes for all menu items, kimchi with a strong sour taste due to fermentation, delicious yuzu sherbet dessert for only 150 yen, and a parking lot at the back of the store with space for 6-7 cars. Although it is not close by, the staff are friendly and make you want to visit again.

Visited in July 2023, the venue for the meat-eating girls' gathering was here. It's a little far from Sakai Station on the JR Hanwa Line, but it's a highly recommended yakiniku restaurant run by the popular butcher shop Takimoto Seinikuten. This place is listed in the top 100 yakiniku restaurants on Tabelog. I made a reservation and went there. We took off our shoes and sat in the back tatami room. Now, what should we order? There are so many options that I got really excited. Ordering through the touch panel was super smooth. On this day, I enjoyed as much meat as I liked and left feeling very satisfied. The food is delicious, cost-effective, and the atmosphere is just like a yakiniku restaurant, which I really like. The only regret is that everything seemed to be a bit too salty that day. It's a lively and popular place. It's a beloved restaurant, and I will definitely visit again.

This restaurant is a famous place selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in Osaka and Sakai for grilled meat. I visited before 4 pm on weekends, wrote my name as number one on the waiting board, and waited for the opening at 4:30 pm. They have a time limit of 1.5 hours, so I ordered the premium menu items that seemed to sell out, along with grilled vegetables, oxtail soup (half), and oolong tea. After a while, the meat arrived. Each piece of meat had a beautiful marbling just like a high-end store. I cooked them to my liking and then tasted them. Delicious! The thickly sliced salted tongue was delicious, and the premium triangle kalbi, as well as all the other meats, were of high quality and delicious. The oxtail soup was so voluminous even in a half portion. Good quality meat can make your stomach tired from the fat content, but being able to enjoy this taste at this cost performance is wonderful. The quality of the meat is excellent! Each dish is a bit pricey but they also offer half size options which are reasonable. You can also take home leftovers and enjoy them at home. It might be a good idea to make a reservation, especially on weekends. They now accept phone reservations on weekends as well! The Upper Salted Tongue costs ¥2379.

The last of three consecutive New Year's parties with customers was in Sakai City. It's a 10-15 minute walk from JR Sakai City Station. The meat dishes were really delicious, and I was surprised that everything we tried was so tasty. The beer just kept flowing. There were also many families in the neighborhood, and I envied them for having such a delicious yakiniku restaurant nearby. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Despite the difficulties of the pandemic, it was my first visit in a long time. The store was clean and had a strong local feel. It was crowded, and the waiting area was small, so some people waited outside or in their cars. (Note: Currently non-smoking) As for my impression, the food was as delicious as ever! While there are other good yakiniku restaurants, the quality at this price point is amazing. It's no wonder that people come from far away to visit. I was extremely satisfied.

I arrived at JR Sakai Station! I walked from the station and found a shop in a residential area! It's a popular yakiniku restaurant with a hundred-year history! First, I tried the yukke-style roast beef. The egg and rare roast beef melted in my mouth, creating a perfect combination! I ordered the special harami, premium salted tongue, grilled shabu-shabu, liver, heart rice, kimchi, beer, highball, and ginger ale. The restaurant supposedly offers domestic black wagyu beef, but I didn't feel the expected sweetness and richness of the fat. The price used to be reasonable about 10 years ago, but now with the price increase, there is still room for improvement in terms of cost performance. I've been here a few times, but there's always a gap, so I probably won't be coming back for a while.

Arrived around 16:00 because reservations are not available on Saturdays. Waited until the 16:30 opening by writing my name on the whiteboard inside the restaurant. Second group to be seated! Plenty of time to spare ( ̄∀ ̄) haha. Ordered only one portion of tongue as they limit it to one per group. I like thinly sliced meat, so I ordered the salted tongue. Also ordered the special top sirloin, loin, skirt meat, white kimchi, hormone, shima chou, lean sirloin, top belly, and bibimbap. And of course, some draft beer. Hmm, the sauce wasn't to my liking... Maybe my expectations were too high for a famous restaurant (・Д・). The top sirloin was the most delicious. It was great that the meat was served quickly! I was surprised by the amount of bibimbap. I was very satisfied when I went to Katsuragi before, so this time I came to this other popular restaurant. The popularity of Takimoto is amazing, with a large crowd in front of the restaurant and reserved people being called in one after another. I sat down when it was my turn and toasted with a beer. When I looked at the menu, I noticed that there are small portions for almost every menu item. It's nice to be able to enjoy various types of meat little by little, and the prices are reasonable. Actually, is that their selling point? I'm not good at touch panels for ordering, but I ordered various items such as kimchi assortment, Wagyu yukke-style roast beef, salted tongue, special harami, special loin, special kalbi, special tsumami, grilled shabu shabu thigh, maruchan, fatty intestine, and various drinks. I love cuts like upper loin and harami. The basic style is to leave it to the other person. The upper tongue was not amazing, but it was good. With 300g, I'm confident I can finish a 7-liter keg of Kirin beer all by myself. Of course, it's best enjoyed on a sunny day while relaxing on a bench. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit. But it really does go well with beer. Since I have no beer at home, I'll enjoy it with red wine. The Hormone Yaki here is truly the best.
