【One-word comment】This time I bought an eclair. The dough was a bit hard, but the chocolate and cream were very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Patisserie La Plage in Osaka, Tamachi has a showcase that you can't stop looking at. I wanted to try the cakes, but I resisted because I had already eaten elsewhere. The eclair, which is the shop's specialty, was delicious as expected. I really want to try their cakes next time! Can't wait for a rematch!

Patisserie La Plage is a cake shop near Tanimachi Yonchome Station. Their rich eclairs are very popular. The stylish exterior and the sweets lined up behind the large glass door catch your eye. You'll have a hard time deciding which one to choose from the showcase of creative cakes. I purchased the Pistachio and Caramel Tart (640 yen). It consists of almond and cassis tart with layers of pistachio, white chocolate, and caramel cream. The three layers of cream are rich and delicious, and I was very satisfied.

The shop was a bit hidden away, so I didn't realize it was there until I got closer. This time I got a mango and white chocolate cake to go. It was truly a delicious cake. The subtle flavor of the mango combined with the smooth white chocolate was wonderful. It also looked really nice. Plus, there was a layer of white chocolate paste on the bottom of the cake, which was irresistible for white chocolate lovers. Thank you for the meal.

I went to buy eclairs that my gourmet friend boasts as the best in Japan! It's located in a back alley in Tanimachi 2-chome. I have no sense of direction, so I wandered around for a while. A passing salaryman said, "The cream puffs here are delicious." I have high expectations.
List of items purchased:
- Eclair (Chocolate): Coated with the finest Valrhona chocolate, with a rich chocolate cream inside. I've never had such a rich chocolate cream before. It was like a lightning bolt!
- Eclair Marron: A light pastry filled with custard cream and buttery chestnut cream. It has a subtle chestnut aroma.
- Orangette Amer: When you bite into it, the chocolate and orange peel melt together. The powdered sugar gives it a gentle mouthfeel. I always buy orange peel at sweet shops, but this one is currently my favorite.
I was amazed by the attention to ingredients, flavor, and overall balance. It was a sweet treat that left me speechless. Next, I'll go buy some cakes! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited the shop around 2 p.m. on a national holiday. There were no other customers, so I was able to make a purchase smoothly. There are many cakes priced in the 500 yen range. I tried a cake called Fraisier, which is a strawberry mousse cake. It was delicious, but personally, I found it a bit too sweet.

Patisserie La Prage is located in the middle between Tanimachi Yonchome Station and Temmabashi Station, and it is a popular cake shop that has been selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops on Tabelog. Their signature menu includes Eclair Chocolat, Cafe, and Marron. The most popular item is the Chocolat Eclair, which is a classic choice. In Japan, Eclairs have a standard soft choux pastry, but in France, the choux pastry is said to be firmer. The pastry chef here trained in France, so the taste is close to the authentic French flavor. The choux pastry has a good texture, filled with a cream made with quality chocolate that is not overly sweet, giving it an elegant taste. This would make a great gift to bring to someone. Eclair Chocolat costs 380 yen, Cafe costs 380 yen, and Marron costs 360 yen. Fun fact: Eclair means "lightning" in French. There are various theories about why it is called that, such as needing to eat it quickly in one bite to prevent the cream from spilling out, or the cracks in the choux pastry resembling lightning.

"Patisserie La Plage" continues to be part of my journey to visit the top 100 sweet shops in the west on Tabelog. It's just a short walk from Tanimachi Yonchome Station, about 5 minutes on foot. You can spot it by the navy blue tent outside. The entrance is a bit set back, so it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. Inside the shop, the display case is filled with colorful fruit cakes. The matcha and banana cake features matcha cream, bitter chocolate cream, and a soft banana cream sandwiched between hazelnut biscuit layers. The Veil Marron cake consists of matcha bavarois cream, sponge cake, almond dacquoise, with a hint of rum flavor and French chestnut cream. It gives off a sophisticated, adult vibe. I'd love to revisit at the right time.

The appearance of each cake is cute at the cake shop in the city. The shop itself is located quite far back, so you may have to go looking for it. The square-shaped form is cute. When I visited around 4:00, there were only a few eclairs left. (Maybe they come out from the back!?)

I visited this popular patisserie in Yonago during the daytime. When I arrived a little after 11:30 AM, there were no other customers. I purchased two items this time. The "Trois Chocolat" for 620 yen consists of three types of chocolate cream (white, milk, and dark) with hazelnuts and almonds in a dacquoise. The sweetness of each chocolate cream is subtle, and the nuttiness of hazelnuts and almonds adds a nice touch without feeling heavy. The "Eclair" for 380 yen uses Valrhona's extra bitter chocolate for the chocolate custard cream, which is rich and distinctly sweet, offering a satisfying texture. Despite not having a visually striking appearance, this patisserie offers a wide variety of high-quality pastries with great taste. Thank you for the meal.

A few minutes' walk from Tamachi Yonchome Station, this shop is one I have visited several times in the past when I lived nearby. I purchased the Phrase Epes Pistachio and Caramel Tart. The Pistachio and Caramel Tart had a strong pistachio flavor with a crisp acidity from the cassis that balanced it out nicely. The tart crust was moist and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 1:30 PM on Saturday. No other customers. Prices range from 550 to 650 yen. Cakes are on the smaller side. There were still plenty of items available. The tart and cheesecake were not too sweet. Not bad, but felt somewhat lacking. The eclair and cream puff were mediocre considering the price. Convenience store ones might be better.

It was delicious! The eclair was incredibly tasty and I want to eat it again. The chestnut and white chocolate cheesecake was also exquisite and delicious. I was worried about the unusual combination, but it was super delicious!

Visit at 3:30 PM on April 22, 2023. "La Plage" is a shop selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops. I saved this place based on a recommendation from a follower, and the main attraction was the "Eclair" called "Inazuma" which is said to be delicious. I got off at Tanimachi Yonchome Station with this in mind, and visited the shop with dragging feet. Although it was late, there were only 2 types of eclairs left, and I was told that they were only good for the day, so I bought one each of the "Eclair (Chocolate) ¥350" and "Eclair Marron ¥340" that I could eat today. I ate them back at the hotel, and the crispy pastry with rich chocolate cream and chestnut cream was absolutely delicious. It was a fantastic "Inazuma" (Eclair). Thank you for the meal.

There is not much connection between the area from the west side of Osaka Castle to the east side of the Yoko-hori Canal (Hanshin Expressway) and government offices or related businesses. As I walked around, I noticed a cake shop with 100 different cakes. They had small square cut cakes on display, and each one looked delicious. I was drawn to the "Noctello and Chestnut Milk Chocolate Cake" and also bought a "Strawberry and Matcha Custard" cake for my husband. I couldn't resist getting a cream puff as well. The Noctello and Chestnut Milk Chocolate Cake was amazing! It had a delicate layer structure and a sophisticated taste suitable for adults. I also enjoyed the cream puff with its rich custard filling. The prices were reasonable since the cakes were not coated entirely. I really liked them, but it's a shame that I don't visit this area often. Noctello and Chestnut Milk Chocolate Cake - 575 yen Strawberry and Matcha Custard - 593 yen Cream Puff - 297 yen (excluding tax)

The place is located on the first floor of an apartment building, with a slightly hard-to-find storefront. I tried the shortcake and souffle fromage. The shortcake was classic, with a nice balance of sweetness in the cream. The fromage was a bit dry. Also, it would be helpful to have a handle on the takeaway box.

Today, I decided to visit my parents' house after a long time. To buy a gift, I stopped by the nearby "Patisserie La Plage" shop. The location is just north of the Osaka Metro Tanimachi 4-chome Station, heading north on Tanimachi-suji and turning left onto Kitashinmachi-dori, it's on the left side. It's a relatively small shop, with about 15 cakes displayed in the showcase at the front of the store. But the most prominent and abundant items are the three types of eclairs. It seems like they are the shop's specialty, so I decided to buy them to take with me.
- Eclair (Chocolate): The most classic type. The glossy chocolate on top is made with cocoa-infused fondant. It uses the highest quality extra bitter chocolate from Valrhona in France, and inside is a chocolate custard cream. The slightly firm choux pastry, the sweetness of the cream inside, and the subtle bitterness of the dark chocolate blend together perfectly, making it a truly sophisticated taste.
- Eclair Cafe: The coffee fondant is on top. Inside the firm choux pastry is a custard cream flavored with coffee and milk chocolate.
- Eclair Marron: Similarly, the crispy choux pastry is filled with a light custard cream and chestnut cream with added butter. It is topped with cocoa powder and powdered sugar, creating a striking visual. The sturdy choux pastry holds the rich cream well, showing a great balance.
"Eclair" means "lightning" in French, and although similar to cream puffs, eclairs are much more popular in France. In Japan, eclairs tend to have softer choux pastry, and I had a somewhat low impression of them as sweets. However, these eclairs easily dispelled that preconception and turned out to be wonderful creations. Regardless of the type, when made properly, they are delicious. It's no wonder they have many repeat customers. The total bill for "Eclair (Chocolate)" 350 yen, "Eclair Cafe" 350 yen, and "Eclair Marron" 340 yen came to 1,040 yen. Thank you for the meal!

I went in the morning on a weekday. The entrance is small and a little hard to find. There was no line like at the nearby famous shops. I bought three cakes. They are small but packed with ingredients. There are plenty of nuts and a lot of alcohol. The price is definitely worth the quality. It's delicious.

I had some time before dinner reservation, so I took a little walk and found a beautiful cake shop. I saw some delicious looking eclairs and couldn't resist trying them. The next morning, I had the eclairs and they were amazing! The pastry was crispy and the cream was light. I ended up eating two of them for breakfast. I really enjoy savoring baked goods slowly. Thank you for the meal! ❤️
