I stopped by after visiting the Christmas market at Azabudai Hills. It was a Saturday, but since I arrived early around 5:30 PM, I was able to make a same-day reservation! However, by around 6 PM, it was already full! I went with my 1.5-year-old daughter, and the staff were kind, making it a comfortable space. My daughter didn't eat anything, but I noticed a few small children eating naan, so I think it’s a place that’s easy to visit with kids!

◽️ No.717 "AHILYA INDIAN RESTAURANT Azabudai Hills" November 19, 2024 -------- Restaurant Information -------------------▷ Address: 1-3-1 Azabudai, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Azabudai Hills Tower Plaza 3F ▷ Nearest Station: Kamiyacho Station ▷ Opening Hours: 11:00 - 15:00, 17:30 - 23:00 ▷ Closed: None ▷ Payment: Credit Card Accepted / Electronic Money Accepted / QR Code Payment Accepted ▷ Smoking: No Smoking in All Areas ▷ Tabelog Rating: 3.40 -------- Order -------------------◽️ Chicken Biryani: 1,700 yen ◽️ Two-Curry Plate: 1,380 yen -------- Introduction and Impressions ---------------- The restaurant area on the 3rd floor of Azabudai Hills Tower Plaza has quite a few places with jaw-dropping prices, but there are a few lunch spots that seem worthwhile. I went to this Indian curry place in that corner. As a spice lover, I can’t resist ordering biryani when it's on the menu. The chicken, generously portioned, was impressive in both size and presentation. However, the raita seemed a bit on the sweet side?? It was a fun experience with a taste I'm not used to. The curries looked delicious as well, featuring northern Indian varieties with mutton and butter chicken, rich in oil. Considering that you get two curries and also chicken tikka for that price, it feels quite reasonable. Since I started making biryani myself, I find it hard to be satisfied with what I eat outside. Is it because the spice blend I make suits my palate, or does the flavor dissipate if it's not freshly made? It's a bit of a mystery. It seems like opening my own restaurant might be the way to go. Thank you for the meal today! #TokyoGourmet #AHILYAINDIANRESTAURANTAzabudaiHills #AHILYAINDIANRESTAURANT #AHILYA #AzabudaiHillsGourmet #AzabudaiHillsLunch #Azabudai #KamiyachoLunch #KamiyachoGourmet

This is authentic Indian curry!! (I haven't been to India, though ^^;) This is my second visit. The menu is extensive and I often struggle with what to order because there aren't many pictures, but the staff is very helpful and gives great recommendations. They are all friendly and nice. Everything I ordered was truly delicious, and I found myself wondering what I had been eating as Indian curry until now. There were also a few Indian customers present. I heard that the chef has worked in Indian restaurants before. The owner also closely checks the flavors. It is really delicious, so I hope you will definitely give it a try! This time I ordered the Kari Raalmaans (a slightly spicy and rich mutton curry), which was flavorful without being too spicy, and it was really tasty~ I want to try all the curry menu items! Haha, thank you for the meal. Other recommended dishes are: appetizer platter, tandoori platter (great for trying a variety of flavors), jeera rice (cumin rice, which I ordered last time and loved), and pistachio ice cream (homemade with a subtle sweetness and rich flavor).

I visited for lunch and found the staff to be very friendly, making it a comfortable place. I ordered a curry plate with three types of curry: butter chicken, mutton, and shrimp. The spiciness was just right! Everything, including the tandoori chicken and naan, was delicious. My senior who joined me found it a bit spicy, but the mango lassi helped soothe the heat. It was great! I’d love to visit again for dinner next time.

Chicken Biryani: 1,800 yen Hofbräu Original: 900 yen I visited on a Sunday just past 2:30 PM. It was a bit late for lunch, but the restaurant was almost full. I appreciated that they were open while other nearby eateries had finished their lunch service and were on break. Today, I ordered from the lunch menu, but the staff kindly brought over the a la carte menu upon request. This was my first time trying biryani! The rice (Basmati rice) was fluffy, and while the flavor was mild, the complex aroma of spices filled my mouth and I really enjoyed it! The chicken was well-seasoned, and when paired with the spicy rice and yogurt sauce, the flavor transformed, which I also liked! It was absolutely delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I had a lunch plate with three types of curry: Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer (spinach), and today's special, Eggplant Curry. I chose Basmati rice as my side, which was light and delicious. The meal also included Tandoori Chicken, Murg Reshmi Kebab (charcoal-grilled ground chicken), and a salad, all for 1800 yen. The authentic Indian curry was rich in spices.

Overview: - Azabudai Hills, Tower Plaza 3F - Counter: 4 seats, Table: 30 seats - Ahilya, a famous restaurant from Yoyogi, now in Azabudai Hills - A compact establishment where you can enjoy both Northern and Southern Indian cuisine Visit Date: Weekday, around 5:30 PM, right after opening for dinner. No wait, no customers ahead, and a steady flow of customers arriving afterward. By the time I left, the restaurant was about 70% full (mostly tourists). Order: Kachumber Salad Masala Dosa (Masala Dosa, Rasam, Sambhar, Coconut Chutney, Tomato Chutney) Taste: Kachumber Salad → A salad made with cucumber, onion, and tomato mixed with spices. Spicy with plenty of chili, and the cucumber and onion make it refreshing and light. Masala Dosa → A dosa with a moist texture. The potato filling has a mild amount of masala spice and a comforting flavor. It's meant to be "torn," "wrapped," and "dipped in chutney." The chutney has a classic flavor. - Rasam has a good tamarind flavor and is not overly spicy, making it easy to drink. - Sambhar is thinner with fewer beans, and has a tangy flavor, almost making it feel like a variant of Rasam. This is tasty in its own right. Impressions: Had an early dinner at Azabudai Hills. Many restaurants are closed on Wednesdays, but at 5:30 PM, I found I could enter most places. To keep it light, I chose the well-known modern Indian restaurant "Ahilya." The dinner menu primarily features à la carte options, including a variety of appetizers, tandoor dishes, curries, biryanis, and more, which made it hard to decide. The staff were all friendly with warm smiles, and their attentive service was appreciated. They sent me off with a “big smile” at the end. I enjoyed a delightful dinner, and it was delicious.

I visited for Saturday lunch. I was tempted by the biryani, but I chose curry and naan. The plate included three types of curry, tandoori chicken, and salad, with the option of either rice or naan. The flavor was authentic and delicious. The naan was also served piping hot. The lassi I ordered on the side was rich and tasty. The portion was not too large, giving it an elegant feel. The service was by an Indian staff member, but it was a bit lacking. Well, it can't be helped.

Originally a bustling Indian restaurant, there are a few locations in Tokyo. When it's hot, I crave spices. During the Obon season, the city feels quite empty, but Azabudai is relatively lively with tourists visiting Japan. I chose this restaurant and was able to get in right away, while other places had a bit of a line. I was longing for the dosa I had eaten at Tokyo Bawan, so I quickly ordered the Masala Dosa Lunch (¥1800). My companion ordered a curry set with three types (¥2000), but since they aren’t great with spicy food, they switched the mutton for a bean curry. For our drinks, we must have lassi, and I got a hot chai. Soon, the dishes arrived. The three curry dishes came in stylish containers, which were sturdier than Eric’s. When the Masala Dosa came out, I thought, "Wow, this is huge!" The side condiments were sambar, raita, and chutney, just as I expected but perhaps a bit unexpected. I cut it in half to check the potato curry inside before tasting. I was hoping for a stronger tomato flavor in the rasam, and the sambar was milder, giving a more neutral taste. My experiences with Indian cuisine include Ajanta, Tokyo Bawan, Eric South, and Motti, so I would describe this dish as a bit "fancier" or “more refined” in flavor. The tandoori was standard, and I wished I could get a refill of rasam for my dosa (preferably for free).

I visited the Indian restaurant chain Ahilya, which has opened a location in Azabudai Hills. They already have four other locations in Aoyama, Osaki, Yoyogi, and Utsunomiya. The restaurant is well-known as a "go-to" for embassies, often catering for embassy parties and visits from dignitaries from India. Despite this, you can still walk in without a reservation and enjoy a meal, making it a rare gem in Azabudai Hills for both lunch and dinner. The chicken, shrimp, and fish tikka, as well as the butter chicken curry, were incredibly delicious. Many Indians, including employees of Japanese TCS, work in Azabudai Hills. Seeing them enjoy their meals often suggests that this restaurant can confidently be recommended by Indians themselves.

We made a reservation for six people on the middle day of a three-day weekend, Sunday. Since it was a holiday, the restaurant floor was very lively and by 7:00 PM, it was almost fully booked. The space was small but had a stylish atmosphere. There was a great deal available for groups of six or more—an all-you-can-drink course for ¥8,000 per person for two hours, so we decided to order that. Although the drink options were limited, the food was delicious and there was so much that we couldn’t finish it all, so we took some home. Everyone in our group was very satisfied. Thank you!

I visited "AHILYA INDIAN RESTAURANT" at Azabudai Hills for lunch on a Saturday. The other places I had considered were fully booked, so I decided to try this one, which I could enter easily. I ordered the Dandori Plate for 2500 yen, which came with a choice of beer or wine. The lunch set for the weekend included a Kirin Lager. Although I just walked in, it turned out to be a good choice. I think it's better to make reservations when dining at Azabudai Hills, but I believe this restaurant is a decent option for a casual walk-in.

I reserved a visit to Azabudai Hills. It always seems crowded for both lunch and dinner, so I made a phone reservation before going. What I ordered included: - An assortment of appetizers for two - Tandoori Chicken (Murg Banjara Kebab) - Bhuna Ghost - Garlic Naan - Kashmiri Naan The appetizer platter was hearty, featuring a variety of dishes ranging from rustic flavors to classic samosas, with some intriguing seasonings that make it a must-try. The tandoori chicken was packed with spices and came with a side salad, making it a great deal. The Bhuna Ghost is a lamb vegetable curry, and since I was told it could be quite spicy, I opted for middle spicy. However, it turned out to be milder than expected, so sticking with the original order might have been fine. The meat was delicious. But the highlight for me was definitely the Kashmiri Naan! It had a sweetness and texture that made it so delightful that I could eat it on its own. While the classic garlic naan has its crispy charm, it was overshadowed by the Kashmiri version. I will definitely visit again.

It felt a bit overpriced. The menu features authentic Indian cuisine, and I ordered the biryani and masala dosa, which I had been wanting to try. The masala dosa was delicious, but the biryani left no impression on me. It was kind of bland...? I didn't feel the spices. The curry that came with the masala dosa also seemed a bit weak? Is Indian food usually like this...?

There is an Indian restaurant in Azabudai Hills that is popular among embassies. The place was fully booked with Indian customers aside from us. The food has an authentic taste, with strong spices that are intense but not overwhelming, making it delicious. The staff are also Indian and create a calm atmosphere. After the meal, we wanted to move to the bar upstairs to enjoy a drink while looking at Tokyo Tower, but it was reserved for a private event, so we took a cake home instead. The location was farther from the station than we expected.

I visited for lunch. If you go before noon, you can get in right away, but after 12 o'clock, there was a line forming. Unlike typical places where you get free refills on naan and rice, this restaurant, being located in Azabudai Hills, has more of an elegant feel rather than a bargain vibe. I ordered the fish curry from the daily curry selection, which is something you don't find often, and it was delicious. The other dish I got was my favorite, the mutton curry, which was also tasty and mild. The chicken was easy to eat and very enjoyable as well.

I visited the Indian restaurant "AHILYA INDIAN RESTAURANT" located at 034/200 Azabudai Hills. Situated on the third floor of Tower Plaza, in a corner of the restaurant area, this place was buzzing with activity on the day I went. The luxurious interior features about 35 spacious table seats. After a toast with some bubbly, we started with an assorted appetizer platter. It included a variety of unique vegetarian items that we could enjoy by hand. For the main course, we ordered two types of curry. The portions were ample and quite surprising! One was a smooth spinach curry with a gentle flavor, and the other was a bean curry that had a fun, chunky texture. We paired these with freshly baked naan, which was fluffy and light, perfectly complementing the curries. We also ordered some spicy tandoori chicken, which had a robust spice that paired wonderfully with our drinks. This restaurant offers an enjoyable, casual way to savor authentic Indian cuisine. It's perfect for a lively group gathering or even a romantic date. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I really wanted to visit the much-talked-about Azabudai Hills (even if it’s a bit late, haha), so I reserved a spot at this restaurant for Friday night. There weren't many other places available for online reservations. I arrived from my office via Kamiyacho Station, and while it was nice that the station is directly connected, the restaurant was quite far. Walking around the gourmet area was fun with a variety of restaurant categories. At this restaurant, there was a lively group of about 10 foreigners, which made it a bit too noisy for my taste! I tried the Basti rice, butter chicken curry, spinach curry, and mutton curry. I think the spinach curry was my favorite; it was really flavorful with garlic. The place was bustling, so I ended up leaving quickly, but the curry was of quite high quality. Thank you for the meal!

It's a fun place where you can order a variety of Indian dishes in small quantities. The ambiance has a local feel, and the appetizers' presentation shows attention to detail. However, there are noticeable inconsistencies in the staff's service, such as filling water and providing explanations about the dishes. Additionally, some side vegetables seem a bit neglected, leaving certain aspects feeling a little lacking.
