I visited Abukusan, a udon restaurant, for the second time because I wanted to eat something other than curry. I arrived at 12 o'clock and was seated immediately. I ordered the vegetable-packed pork salt udon in large size for 960 yen. The dish was served in about 5 minutes. The vegetables included green onions, mizuna, shimeji mushrooms, and lettuce. I started with the broth, which was not the typical seafood-based broth found in udon, but it had a good umami flavor. It was a bit light to accompany the udon, but it felt gentle on the body. I was surprised to see lettuce among the vegetables, but it actually matched well with the light broth. The udon itself had the familiar flavor and texture that I enjoy. Although the broth was described as light, the taste was good, so I finished the whole bowl in about 10 minutes. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I went to Abukusan in Awaza. I arrived at 12 o'clock and waited in line for about 10 minutes before entering the small shop. I started with a beer. I ordered the limited summer menu item, chilled udon with iriko dashi (served with chicken tempura) and soboro onsen tamago rice. The set meal arrived. The dashi was delicious! It's popular for a reason! The noodles were slightly thick with a firm texture. The portion was huge! The chicken tempura and rice were just average. It would be nice to have something to dip the chicken tempura in. The dashi was so tasty that I want to try various udon dishes regularly! Thank you for the meal!

I used to give up on weekdays due to the long line, but I was able to get in without waiting at 2 pm on Saturday. The cold noodles with hot spring egg topping for under 700 yen is a great deal! You can get a free extra serving of noodles. The noodles are just the right texture, not too firm, and the taste makes you want to come back every week!

When I was living in Kansai, this was my favorite udon restaurant. About 1-2 years ago, if I arrived right when they opened, I could get a seat. But recently, when I arrived right at opening time, it was already full, with 2-3 groups (about 7 people) waiting. My personal favorite menu item is the Chiku Tempura Bukkake Udon, which I like to change to warm with raw soy sauce. The warm raw soy sauce udon is really delicious, with the fluffy and chewy noodles being the best part. Of course, the cold noodles are also delicious. In the summer, the cold noodles might be better.

I visited the udon restaurant "Udon-ya Abuku" that I wanted to go to! Since it was before 1pm, I was able to enter without waiting. I was lured by the fantastic words of "free extra noodles," so I ordered the Chikuwa Tempura Curry Udon with extra noodles! The spicy curry broth did not disappoint, and the thick noodles were delicious, similar to TKU's style. Overall, it was a very delicious bowl of udon with great value for money. Thank you for the meal!

Hello. The menu looks like this. The burdock tsukemen was light and tasty. I slurped it all up. The chicken tempura over noodles. Be aware that you can't add a soft-boiled egg separately. You can adjust the flavor. Adding broth may make it a bit lukewarm, but it's nice that it comes with it. Thank you for the meal. Well then, goodbye.

From Higo Bridge through Zensho Park towards Kyomachi. It saved me from becoming a lunch refugee on a Sunday afternoon near 2 pm. The Italian place was crowded with 70% full. I thought of getting something cold because it was hot, but I couldn't help but be curious about the curry udon the lady next to me was having. I ended up ordering the large portion of curry udon with warm egg and chicken tempura! It arrived quite quickly, and the tempura chicken was served on a separate plate. The chicken tempura was plentiful, with three pieces! There was also plenty of green onions. The udon was delicious, with a thick curry broth slightly spiced up. It had plenty of pork and was quite filling. Although it came with a small portion of rice as part of the lunch set, it was quite a lot and I was stuffed. My friend's cold buckwheat noodles with deep-fried skewers had luxurious toppings and quite firm noodles. If you want to savor the noodles, this is the place to go. It was a very satisfying lunch experience.

The owner of this udon restaurant, "Udon-ya Abuku," trained at the well-known restaurant "Mitsushima Shinda" in Kadoma. The restaurant is gaining popularity and is on track to be selected as one of the top 100 udon restaurants. Located in Kyomachibori, Nishi-ku, Osaka, the restaurant has a chic and sophisticated atmosphere, especially at night when it transforms into an udon izakaya. One of their popular dishes is the Warm Tamago Toriten Curry Udon for 1080 yen, which comes with a side of small rice during lunchtime. For those who prefer a lighter lunch, the Large Aburaage Kitsune Udon (Warm) for 780 yen is a great choice, with a large aburaage soaking up the delicious broth. The udon noodles are white, glossy, and have a firm texture with a distinct edge, typical of Sanuki udon. The simple yet delicious flavors truly showcase the expertise of this almost top 100 udon restaurant. Osaka is home to many delicious udon restaurants, and Udon-ya Abuku is definitely worth a visit.

I arrived at the restaurant a little after 11:30 and was able to sit at the counter without waiting. I ordered the Chikuwa Tempura Udon in large size. There seemed to be many regular customers around me, mostly ordering set meals. The udon noodles had a nice firm texture, and the Chikuwa tempura was freshly fried and deliciously large. Next time, I would like to try either the Chicken Tempura Set Meal or the Ham Cutlet Set Meal.

Visited a restaurant at 12:15 pm on May 28, 2023, with 12 guests. There were 4 seats at the counter and 2 tables for 14 people and 3 people, respectively. Ordered curry and kama-tama udon in large portions, which were free. The warm udon was served quickly, in about 5 minutes. The kama-tama udon required a lot of mixing before the egg finally appeared, which had a nice color. The udon had a decent firmness, similar to Sanuki udon, in terms of firmness and thickness. Forgot to get an apron and ended up with curry splatters, but enjoyed the meal without worrying. Finished by pouring rice over the remaining curry. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious!

I went to a udon restaurant in Kyomachi-bori. The nearest station is Awaza Station. It is located in a quiet residential area. There is a notice that says smoking is prohibited and only one udon order per person, except for children. Tonight, I ordered the Chikuten Udon for 750 yen and the Warm Tamago Toriten Bukkake for 1,040 yen. Since the noodles were free for upsizing, I asked for a large portion. The noodles had a good texture and were very delicious. The Toriten had three pieces and was quite filling. Thank you for the meal.

The noodles here were amazing with their chewy texture and firmness. I usually only order the tempura rice bowl, but the size of the tempura here was great and delicious! I went for lunch a bit late, but it was packed! The noodles were so delicious that I wanted to try other types too!

On this day, I was in the mood for udon from the morning! Especially craving curry udon, so I quickly hopped on the Limited Express Southern and headed to Awa-za. The destination was Udon-ya Abukusan, a very popular spot for curry udon. We entered the restaurant right after it opened, so we were able to get seated without waiting in line. I ordered the Warm Tamago Tori-Ten Curry Udon ♥️ and my partner went for the classic Kitsune Udon. The Warm Tamago Tori-Ten Curry Udon costs 1080 yen, but during lunchtime, it came with a small bowl of rice. The curry had a good balance of dashi flavor and spiciness, very delicious. The udon had a nice chewiness, and the tori-ten (chicken tempura) had a crispy coating with juicy meat inside, which I liked. I made sure to quickly break the warm tamago and mix it with the curry, as I don't like it mixing with the curry. The rice also went well with the curry. The price of over a thousand yen for lunch was a bit expensive, but considering the quality of the taste, it seemed reasonable. However, the waiter kept staring at the customers' seats while eating, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. It was a mystery if there was any intention behind this behavior. Without that, I would have rated it over 4 points easily. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Osaka and went to Abukusan to eat udon. I ordered the curry udon with chikuwa tempura on top. For lunch, it comes with a small bowl of rice, and you can also get a free upgrade to a large serving of noodles. The noodles were delicious with a good texture. The curry was rich and the dish was very filling with pork belly in it. It felt more like curry with udon in it rather than curry udon. Personally, I prefer a stronger broth flavor. I also tried the udon broth my wife was eating, and I think this place focuses more on their noodles.

Hello! I'm here waiting in line. Here is the menu. I ordered the vegetable-packed pork salt udon for the first time. It looks just like a Jiro-style ramen. The broth is light. I'm going to slurp it up. I'll add some extra flavor at the end. I will definitely come back for this. Thank you for the meal. Well then, see you later.

It had been a while since I visited this restaurant. It's usually busy, but on this day it was empty. The oyster fry season had ended, so I ordered a mixed vegetable tempura platter and a few other dishes. I mostly just ate udon and left quickly. There weren't many families with small children, so the atmosphere felt a bit different. "Thank you for the meal."

I went to a nearby store before and thought I could make it here during my lunch break, so I made the trip. I arrived at 12:08 and had to wait for 2, 2, 2. I was seated at 12:28. The udon came out in 5 minutes after ordering. It seems like the cold udon takes a bit longer. The tempura consisted of eggplant, fish cake, and shrimp, and it was delicious. The black wagyu beef skewers with tempura meat on top in a warm broth, large serving, was excellent.

Visited around 12pm on Sunday. There were 3 groups ahead of me, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes. I ordered the chilled chikuwa tempura udon. The noodles were thick with a good texture, and they were deliciously smooth. The chikuwa tempura was crispy, large, and satisfying to eat. I would like to try the curry udon next time.

[Noodles] Slightly flat thick noodles
[Toppings] Croquette (1 piece), pork belly, chopped green onions, fried onions
[Soup] Curry
[Preparation Time] 7 minutes
The curry aroma is strong with artificial fragrance. It is spicy and on the hot side. The action of slurping the udon and curry simultaneously keeps you busy. The curry broth is thick and flavorful. There is likely fried onions adding a nice, savory touch. The udon noodles are slightly flat and thick, coated well with the curry broth. There is more pork belly than expected. The croquette is crispy, fluffy, and has a sweet potato sweetness, making it delicious. You can also upgrade to a large serving of noodles for free during lunch, with a small side of rice – very generous! Mixing the leftover croquette with rice at the end enhances the meal. It was a satisfying lunch. Looking forward to trying the bukkake udon next time!

Abuku's Chicken Tempura Curry Udon for 1080 yen is perfect for a chilly night. The curry udon here is not like the typical udon shop's curry udon with a strong dashi flavor, but rather a spicier curry that could also be enjoyed over rice. The udon noodles have a nice firm texture that pairs well with the flavorful curry. The freshly fried chicken tempura is crispy and juicy, especially when dipped in the warm egg. It was delicious. 7.0
