The menu was extensive, ranging from the grand menu to kids' menu, desserts, and collaboration menu items. However, some menu items using Caribbean chicken or cauliflower risotto were sold out. I ordered the following: Cut steak with garlic sauce for ¥1,090. A set for ¥450 (rice, soup bar, drink bar) with extra rice for ¥80. While waiting for the food, I helped myself to the soup bar and drink bar. There were two types of soup, Chinese soup and onion soup. The onion soup was a bit salty. The drink bar had a variety of tea options. There were about 6 types of juice and coffee, but unfortunately, the iced coffee I wanted was out of stock. Too many items out of stock, right? Now, the steak was served. It was a plate of about 6 pieces of cut steak with sides of onions, broccoli, and corn, all without seasoning. The steak was cooked medium-rare. It was quite chewy and hard to cut... I ended up swallowing it whole. Be careful not to choke! Was it delicious? Not really... It just filled my stomach, but didn't leave me feeling full. I didn't feel like cooking dinner and one person said they didn't need dinner, but they wanted to eat meat. So, I thought, where should we go? Let's go to Coco's! It's been a while since we've been there. There were more customers than I expected, but we'll come back again. After some hesitation, I ordered the steak, which was reliably delicious. A colleague invited me to lunch after my night shift, so we headed to this place that opens at 10am. I felt like having curry! What I like about Coco's is that they have cilantro. I ordered the curry with cilantro, and even though there was a spicy mark, it wasn't actually that spicy. I love green curry, even though it's a bit salty, it's still good. We chatted until past 1pm and I was so sleepy (lol). It's the day of the ox, so they gave me a bite of eel even though I had plans to eat it at night. Sorry for not ordering eel. I ordered the wrapped grilled hamburger with a side of large rice at Coco's. This dish is well-known from the commercials that air during the TV anime Doraemon. They first grill the surface of the hamburger, wrap it in aluminum foil, and then finish grilling it open. The side of potatoes is also large, about one and a half of my fist size. The sauce is like beef stew, so when ordering, you can choose bread instead of rice as a side.

Other than lunch, I tend to have a high image of the place. It's a bit pricey, but they have a wide variety of drinks at the drink bar, which is nice. On this day, we had a little celebration for my favorite friend's birthday with the kids. The steak was delicious. It was really, really delicious. I've been to Coco's a few times as well. In February 2014, while on a low-carb diet, we went to a family restaurant again. It was located along Route 12, and it was around 12 pm on a Sunday, so the parking lot was about 60% full. The restaurant was quite spacious, so it didn't feel too crowded. I had checked online beforehand that they had menu options without rice. I ordered the beef gratin and a side salad. My wife ordered the L combo lunch for 619 yen. It was a good deal! It took almost 20 minutes for our food to arrive, which was quite slow. The beef hamburger had a nice meaty texture and a strong flavor, which I really liked. The gratin was also pretty good, but the salad was not very fresh and the portion was disappointing. As for my wife... She didn't like the taste of the regular hamburger. When I tried a bite, I could sense a strange smell, so I understood her point. However, she did mention that the rye bread that came with the set was much tastier than bread from a regular bakery. On the way back in the car... Wife: I really didn't like it. Me: You mean the hamburger? Yeah, it was not that great. Wife: No, it's not that. The size of the side potatoes was definitely smaller than yours! Wife: They probably choose smaller potatoes for the lunch set (angry). Me: Who would bother with such a thing? (laughs) She's really picky about potatoes (laughs). On June 25, 2011, I visited Jeff Gourmet Card on a Saturday at 1:00 PM. This was my second visit, but it was my first time trying their lunch menu since they also offer lunch on Saturdays. My wife and I decided to go for the lunch menu this time. The lunch menu changes depending on the day, and you can choose between rice (with free extra serving) or bread. I ordered the combo lunch, while my wife went for the Tomato Cheese Hamburger & Edamame Croquette. We also added the California "Taco Salad" on the side. While waiting for our dishes, we had some soup. There were two soup containers, but they both had the same soup inside. When the dishes arrived, they were decent and tasted good, although there was nothing particularly outstanding to comment on. Additionally, it seemed like the staff was a bit overwhelmed or understaffed, as they appeared to be struggling to keep up with the busy restaurant.

On March 13, 2011, my wife and I had been saying for a while that we wanted to try Coco's, but we had heard mixed reviews and never had the chance to go. Finally, we decided to go for it and make our first visit! It was dinner time and there were fewer customers compared to the nearby Bikkuri Donkey in Iwamizawa. We were able to park easily. After looking over the menu, I chose the "Wrapped Grilled Hamburg" with a Japanese-style set, while my wife chose the "Cheese Hamburg" with a Japanese-style set. After about a 15-minute wait, our food arrived. First, the hamburgers. Then the Japanese-style sets. The wrapped grilled hamburger was covered in aluminum foil. They opened it slightly for me, and then it was up to me to uncover the rest! The aroma of the demi-glace sauce filled the air. I dug in right away. The hamburger was more like a simmered hamburger, but it wasn't actually simmered, the patty was solid. Being 100% beef, it had a light flavor. The demi-glace sauce was tasty, and the hamburger had a typical taste. It wasn't as bad as some people say! The flavor is generally mild. Maybe that's why it doesn't resonate with Hokkaido people compared to Donkey. The rice was normal, and the miso soup was made with red miso, which was rare for me in Hokkaido. The red miso was good! The pickles that came with it were surprisingly tasty (laughs). Coco's hamburgers are probably more on the healthy side, with no fancy tricks, just 100% Aussie beef, so it's better to think of it as a light hamburger. If you're envisioning Donkey's juicy hamburger, you might feel a bit unsatisfied. It's all about managing your expectations. My wife had a similar perspective and evaluation of the cheese hamburger. This is a review of the Coco's restaurant located at 255-20 Owada 3-jo, 9-chome, Iwamizawa City, Hokkaido. It is located along National Route 12, on the left side when driving towards Sapporo. There is a parking lot available, so you can visit by car without any worries. On this day, I ordered the daily lunch special. The hamburger was... When I think of Coco's, I think of their wrapped hamburger. Maybe because of that, the regular hamburger felt a bit lacking. It didn't stand out much compared to other places. The wrapped hamburger tastes better, so it felt a bit strange. The curry that came with the combo lunch was quite spicy and delicious. In other words, it might be too spicy for those who don't like spicy food. I personally enjoy spicy food, so I was satisfied. The pizza had a bread-like crust. I prefer a thin and crispy crust, so I found it a bit heavy. Also, instead of Tabasco, they served chili sauce (pepper sauce?), which I didn't really like. I think Tabasco would be a better match, so I would be happy if they made that change.

When heading towards Sapporo on Route 12, you will come across this new restaurant near the intersection of the old national road and Route 12. The interior of the shop is clean and new. In the mood for Japanese food, I ordered the thick-cut pork cutlet set meal. When it was brought to me, I found that the portion was 160g, but the pork cutlet was small and thin. The effort to please customers was evident in the sesame seeds ground into the sauce for added flavor. The pork cutlet was average, the rice portion was small, and the miso soup with fried tofu was simply made by slicing the tofu and adding it to the soup right before serving. Normally, this kind of meal would cost around 800 to 1,000 yen. Perhaps due to operating in a rural area with higher labor costs, the price was over 1,200 yen, but the satisfaction was lacking. I felt that such restaurants should be visited after regular dining hours at other establishments.

When you go to a local area, trying out unfamiliar restaurants can be risky. Sometimes you hit the jackpot and find something delicious, but most of the time it's just average. Living in the city, you often appreciate the happiness of having access to better quality food. Large chain restaurants are not to be underestimated, with their strict manuals, hygiene management, team structure, uniform decor, great value for money, fast service, and unlimited refills of soup and miso soup. While they may lack the charm of highly-rated independent restaurants, they are a reliable option for a satisfying meal. Safety is guaranteed, but they may lack the exceptional taste that some smaller eateries offer. Overall, they are a good choice for a meal, even if they don't leave a lasting impression. One particular chain I tried had a great breakfast set, but their lunch options were just okay. The prices are affordable, but the portions are quite generous. It's hard to compete with the quality of a high-end restaurant, but these chains are doing their best and shouldn't be underestimated. I was surprised by the new service!! They allow you to take the drink bar with you on your way home, which was a first encounter for me. The food was delicious, and I was quite hungry. My child devoured the pasta, and my younger one was very happy with the Doraemon omelette rice (●´ω｀●). The restaurant was spacious, and the restroom was clean, which was great.
