I visited a soba restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Nankai Izumi-otsu Station. I had been wanting to go there ever since I saw it on social media. I love soba and am quite particular about taste, so I don't have many favorite places... (laughs) I had high expectations! Since I imagined it would be busy during lunchtime, I went at around 1:30 PM. The parking lot was empty! When I entered the restaurant, there were a few seats available at the counter. It’s definitely popular, huh? (laughs) The lunch set includes 100% buckwheat soba and a rice dish at a reasonable price, so I thought it was a good deal. I decided to go for the roast beef bowl set for 1300 yen! I love zarusoba, so that was an easy choice (laughs). There were about four types of dipping sauces... but I chose the soba tsuyu (soba dipping sauce) without hesitation (laughs). It arrived surprisingly quickly. Some places take a long time to serve soba, but this came out right away! The soba is thin!!! Perhaps that’s why it cooks quickly (laughs). The soba was even better than I expected! Since it’s 100% buckwheat, I tried it first without any condiments. It smells great! I added a bit of wasabi on a bite... delicious! I noticed there were several types of salt available to try, but I skipped it because 100% buckwheat soba can lose its quality over time (laughs). The roast beef bowl was just okay. Next time, I think I'll try the negitoro bowl or the tempura bowl (laughs). Overall, the soba was really delicious! Also, the service from the staff was good. They served a small bowl of tempura soba, which is popular in the evening, and they asked if I wanted sobayu (soba hot water) without me having to ask. I thought it might be hard to go alone, but I feel like I could go by myself next time (laughs). It was very tasty. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this restaurant for lunch. It seems that the soba is made entirely by machine, so it's not hand-crafted. However, there's something unique about machine-made soba! It's quite thin and has a good texture. I ordered the tempura rice bowl set, but they also offer zaru (cold) soba and a variety of warm soba dishes. The tempura rice bowl doesn’t come with sauce already on it; instead, there’s a sauce on the table that you can pour on to your liking, whether you prefer a little or a lot. After finishing, they bring you soba-yu (soba water), so you can enjoy the soba in different ways. The dipping sauce might have a Kansai-style flavor. They also bring a small dish to the table at the same time as the water when you arrive.

The cold noodles had a nice chewiness, while the warm ones were soft. Even though it's 100% buckwheat, the flavor of the buckwheat was subtle. The duck soba had tender, flavorful duck without any unpleasant smell, and the broth was delicious. The tororo soba had tasty noodles as well. I might come back again with someone else.

I had some errands nearby and found a lunch place on Tabelog. I ordered the shirasudon (baby sardine rice bowl) and zaru soba (cold buckwheat noodles) set. The soba was thin and nicely arranged, but it didn't seem like it was handmade. I was advised to eat the soba first to preserve the flavor since it was 100% buckwheat, but to be honest, the flavor of the soba wasn't very noticeable. Perhaps it's difficult to find flavorful soba in the summer...

The soba restaurant offers 100% buckwheat soba and is a relatively new place with an incredibly clean interior! Don't underestimate the soba; it really stands out with a wonderful aroma, and the dipping sauce has a lingering bonito flavor that is irresistible. The lunch set, which includes a shirasu bowl, is also delicious! Definitely try the soba-yu (soba water) because it is really tasty!

About a 7-minute walk from the Nishiguchi of Izumi-Otsu Station on the Nankai Electric Railway. We entered right at 5:30 PM for dinner. The restaurant looks stylish from the outside, and the interior is quite nice as well. They use buckwheat flour sourced from Lake Juta, which straddles Aomori and Akita. Here’s what we ordered: - SOBA Pori (fried soba) - Salad - Fried zucchini resembling French fries - Salmon and nagaimo spring rolls wrapped in fresh yuba - Crab miso cheese with iburi-gakko - Avocado topped with prosciutto and cream cheese - Chicken tempura - 100% buckwheat noodles (we could choose from hot soba, soy milk broth soba, or zaru soba with dipping sauce; my friend chose hot soba while I went for the soy milk broth soba) From the first bite of SOBA Pori, we were blown away by its deliciousness. It was so good that I wanted to take some home, I couldn’t stop eating it. All the dishes that followed were incredibly satisfying. My friend and I couldn't stop praising the meal, saying if it were closer to our homes, we would visit frequently.

I stopped by since I was nearby. The restaurant specializes in 100% buckwheat soba and also has mehari sushi. It's still relatively new, and all the staff are young women who provide great service. Even though it was a weekday afternoon, more and more customers kept coming in, so I had high expectations. I ordered the mehari sushi set from the lunch menu. First, I tried the 100% buckwheat soba. Honestly, I questioned whether it was really 100% buckwheat, as it tasted more mechanical than authentic. I didn’t find it particularly tasty. The mehari sushi was just rice wrapped in a leaf; it needed some soy sauce or seasoning to add flavor, as it was quite bland. Lastly, the soba-yu (hot water from boiling soba) was just plain water. Haha! The staff were not the problem, but overall, I wasn't impressed.

I went to a ladies' gathering! We enjoyed various dishes, including avocado shiraae (a type of tofu salad) and tempura, along with 100% buckwheat soba noodles and dipping sauce. The restaurant had a very stylish atmosphere, and the staff were really friendly, which made for enjoyable conversations with my friends. Thank you for the wonderful meal! (*´ω`*)

I went to a popular new soba restaurant. Initially, there were long lines when it opened, but now you can get in without a reservation. I visited around 11:30 on a Saturday, and the restaurant was about 70% full, so we were seated quickly. I ordered the Mehari set for ¥1000 and the tempura set for ¥1200. I actually wanted the tendon set, but my husband accidentally ordered the wrong thing while I was away from the table (sad face). As rumored, it’s a stylish place that appeals to women. The soba, made from 100% buckwheat, is surprisingly white, and the noodles are very thin. The tempura was freshly fried. The Mehari sushi was delicious, but I asked my husband, who has dental issues, if it was okay for him. We both ordered zaru soba, and we could choose our dipping sauce from soba tsuyu, soy milk, or chili oil. We went with soba tsuyu. It was a little on the strong side, and even after adding the soba-yu (noodle water), it remained bold in flavor. It was tasty, but I still wish I had ordered the tendon set for the same price.

It seems to be newly opened, but it's already popular with the locals, and it was crowded on this day as well. Last time, I came alone and had warm soba, so this time my family ordered the tempura rice bowl set, while I ordered the tempura set. What's the difference? The tempura rice bowl set comes with a rice bowl and soba, while the tempura set comes with tempura and soba. What I want to say is that the tempura set doesn't include rice, haha! I realized that now. Since it's 100% buckwheat soba, the cold soba was more enjoyable with its firm texture. I wanted to have rice, so next time I come, I’ll go for the tempura rice bowl set!

Recently, a stylish soba restaurant opened in Izumi-Otsu. I parked at the post office. I visited for lunch and ordered the tempura set and mehari sushi. The soba came with three types of dipping sauces: soba sauce, soy milk, and chili oil. I chose the soy milk, which was creamy and delicious. The soba was 100% buckwheat, and I was advised to eat it quickly. The tempura was crispy. The soba water had a thinner consistency than what I'm used to, which was a bit different. I heard they’re open for dinner too, so I would love to visit again.

I visited for lunch. The restaurant had a clean and stylish ambiance, and I noticed some people enjoying drinks during the day. For the soba dipping sauce, you could choose from soba sauce, soy milk, or chili oil. Since it was my first time, I went with the soba sauce and ordered a set with shirasu rice bowl. They mentioned it's 100% buckwheat soba, so I was advised to eat it quickly. The texture was very pleasant, and I felt like I could eat it endlessly; it was extremely delicate and delicious. The shirasu rice bowl also had a great balance of sauce and egg, and I finished it all in no time. The staff's service was excellent, and I definitely want to come back for dinner next time.

Today for lunch, I visited this restaurant! The parking lot was full, so my wife and I had to park in a coin parking lot next to the post office for our first visit. Having only opened last November, the restaurant has a clean and tidy interior. We took our seats at a table and checked the menu. From the set menus, we ordered the shirasu bowl set and the mehari sushi set, both served with zaru soba. For the dipping sauce, we requested soba tsuyu from three options. After a little while, our orders arrived. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, they offered a complimentary kinako mochi (dango)! The soba, shirasu bowl, and everything was delicious! The mehari sushi could use a bit more saltiness, though. I apologize for that! As for the soba-yu, when I asked the staff, they brought it to me, but it was colorless and transparent, more like a light broth. I enjoyed the meal very much. Thank you for the food!

I am "Norinori," and I mainly enjoy exploring lunch spots around Sakai. I found this place while searching for soba on the internet. When I entered, there was no one there at first, but customers started arriving one after another. I ordered several dishes along with a draft beer: the first to arrive was the mehari sushi, followed by the tempura bowl and then the soba. By the time I finished everything, the horse sashimi and yukke I had ordered as snacks with my beer arrived. Although the order of the dishes was a bit disappointing, everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I recently tried a new soba restaurant in Izumi-Otsu, and it's amazing! The quality is really high, and the food was absolutely delicious! It's definitely worth using the highway to get here! I had the tempura rice bowl set for 1,200 yen. The soba dipping sauce was incredibly tasty, the soba itself was great, and the tempura was perfectly fried. It was so good that I wanted to have a second helping! I’m definitely going to come back again! I visited in the evening and enjoyed zaru soba and mehari sushi. The soba was very easy to eat and had a great texture, being made entirely of buckwheat. As for the mehari sushi, I personally prefer it to be a bit more flavorful. I couldn’t finish the mehari sushi, so I took the leftovers home with me.

On Sundays at 12:30, the place is always fully booked, and on the recent grand opening day, it was so crowded that I almost gave up on getting a seat. However, there are seats available (with a parking lot at the back). Until December 31, there's a 100 yen discount coupon available on IzumiOotsu.com for set prices. I ordered the tempura rice bowl set with soba for 1200 yen and waited about 12-13 minutes for it to arrive. The soba was beautiful because it’s 100% soba, and they recommend eating it quickly. I tend to eat fast anyway (⌒-⌒; ). The soba is delicious! Today’s soba is made from new buckwheat from Towada, Akita, and the aroma is incredible. It was a kake (hot) soba, and its texture was just right with a delicious dashi that’s more like Kansai-style broth, making it hard to resist finishing it all, especially after adding some seven-spice. The tempura rice bowl included shrimp, shishito peppers, perilla leaves, pumpkin, maitake mushrooms, and eggplant, which, although small, were plentiful. The maitake was the tastiest, followed closely by the shrimp. However, the other vegetables were a bit overcooked and softer than ideal. The person next to me ordered the shirasu (baby sardine) bowl set, and I couldn't help but glance at it eagerly, thinking about what I would order next. The shirasu even had an egg yolk in the middle... I'm sorry for staring! I will definitely come back, and next time I’ll try the zaru (cold) soba with the shirasu bowl.

For tonight's drinks, I visited "SOBA TAKIHAMA," a newly opened soba restaurant located next to the Izumiotsu Post Office, which opened on November 20. I found out they serve 100% buckwheat soba, so I decided to check it out. The interior has a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere with five counter seats and about seven table seats. I ordered: - Zaru Soba (100% buckwheat soba) - 800 yen - Bottled Beer (medium size) - 600 yen Total: 1,400 yen (tax included) The dipping sauce for the zaru soba can be chosen from soy sauce, soy milk, or chili oil, and I opted for the chili oil. Shortly after, the 100% buckwheat soba was served. The noodles were thin but had just the right amount of firmness and a pleasant flavor. Personally, I would have liked a bit more flavor. It was my first time trying soba with chili oil, and I really enjoyed it. The spiciness was nice and the chili oil had a good umami flavor that made the beer go down smoothly! The evening menu also has a variety of side dishes and tempura, making it suitable for drinks after work. The ambiance is great, so it seems like a good spot for a date as well. I might come back for lunch next time. Thank you for the meal! The location is at the intersection near Izumiotsu Police Station; just head toward the sea and you'll find it at the traffic signal. Address: 1-6 Komatsucho, Izumiotsu City, Osaka Prefecture. Phone: 072-558-8444. Hours: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM (last order 1:45 PM) and 5:30 PM - 12:00 AM (last order 11:30 PM). Closed on Mondays (or the following day if there's a holiday). Parking available (behind the restaurant). It's a 5-minute walk from Izumiotsu Station on the Nankai Main Line.

Recently, I have been traveling a lot to the Kanto region and have been craving bonito-soba from Kansai, so I decided to try a new restaurant that serves light-flavored soba. It was quite crowded, but the interior was spacious. There were counter seats available, and although there were empty tables, they were still cluttered with used dishes from customers who had just left, indicating the staff was busy. Since I was alone, I was seated quickly. The lunch hours are from 11 AM to 2 PM (last order at 1:45 PM). I ordered a tempura rice bowl set with 100% soba, and since they suggested I enjoy it quickly, I opted for hot soba and promptly took a photo before diving in — yes, I took a photo, haha! The soba was beautifully presented, and the bowl was elegant. The broth was light and had a refined flavor. There was a thoughtful touch with not just chopsticks but also a wooden spoon. Before I knew it, I finished everything. Thank you for the meal! The set menu includes: - Tempura Zaru Set: ¥1,200 - Tempura Rice Bowl Set: ¥1,200 - Shirasu Rice Bowl Set: ¥1,200 - Mehari Sushi Set: ¥1,000 - Limited Time Open Menu (300 servings) Unagi Rice Bowl Set: ¥1,500 The single item menu includes: - Zaru Soba: ¥800 - Hot Soba: ¥800 - Soy Milk Broth Soba: ¥800 - Tempura Rice Bowl: ¥800 - Shirasu Rice Bowl: ¥800 - Mehari Sushi: ¥500 - Limited Time Open Menu (300 servings) Unagi Bowl: ¥1,300

It was lunchtime, but I was able to enter without waiting in line. It seemed to be just the right timing for a turnover. Last time I had zaru soba and kake soba, so today I chose the soy milk dashi soba for 800 yen. There are set options with tempura bowls and shirasu bowls, but since my stomach was feeling off, I decided to just stick with the soy milk dashi soba. After waiting for almost 20 minutes, which felt a bit long and made me a little irritated, that irritation disappeared as soon as I tasted the soy milk dashi. It was delicious! The 100% buckwheat noodles paired perfectly with the dashi, and the blend of umami and the aroma of the soba was wonderful. I finished the broth completely. Thank you for the meal! It would be perfect if the food could be served a little faster.
