This is a lunch at a tonkatsu restaurant. It's a long-established tonkatsu restaurant located near Sangyo-dori and Hon-dori. The interior and exterior have a vintage feel. There is a middle-aged man in the kitchen, so he might be the second generation. The sound of the oil bubbling is soothing. There are 5 seats at the counter. There are also two-person and four-person raised seating areas. They also serve hamburg steak and pork cutlet. Of course, there are various types of tonkatsu available. I ordered the tonkatsu set meal. The breading is crispy and crunchy. The coarse breadcrumbs give it a nice crispy texture. The spaghetti side dish was also satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the shop that caught my interest. Without checking Tabelog, I was so hungry and craving tonkatsu that I decided to give it a try!! The coating was crispy, and the pork had a good thickness and tenderness. The sauce seemed like it had some effort put into it. It was delicious. I would have been even happier if they had included ground sesame or something extra!

The restaurant has 4 tables for 2 people, 1 table for 6 people, and counter seats. I was torn between ordering the roast butter steak, but I ended up ordering the pork cutlet with salad and soup (1,120 yen). It took 35 minutes for my order to arrive. When my pork cutlet arrived, it looked delicious with hot Neapolitan pasta and tonkatsu on a hot plate, topped with plenty of demi-glace sauce. The tonkatsu was thin and went well with the Neapolitan pasta. The young girl who served me was probably the owner's daughter. I'm rooting for her!

I visited around 7pm and they were out of loin, filet, butter-fried, and C set meal. So, it seems like all the tonkatsu-related items are sold out. I ended up ordering the bone-in fried chicken set meal and the minced cutlet set meal. There were about two other groups of customers. Each customer seemed to be served individually, so it took quite a bit of time. The staff seemed busy, and I could hear someone scolding the women doing the dishes and serving. It made me a bit nervous. However, despite the wait, the food was really delicious. The minced cutlet was juicy and hot, while the bone-in fried chicken had a great balance of flavors and crunchiness. I was a bit confused by the slightly tense atmosphere in the kitchen, but overall, it's a great restaurant with delicious food. Thank you for the meal! ☆

During my lunch break while moving around Hakodate city, I was debating between going to Gusto or a tonkatsu specialty restaurant. I decided to go for tonkatsu and entered a restaurant called Tonkatsu Moriya, located just a little off the main road. I sat in a raised seating area with a view of the TV. I ordered the tonkatsu for 1170 yen. The tonkatsu arrived crispy and well-drained. I tried a piece without sauce and it was delicious. I was happy that it came with miso soup. The rice was a bit soft for my liking. Overall, it was a great meal.

This is an old tonkatsu restaurant near the industrial road. It was my first visit since childhood. There were some young staff working, possibly the owner's children. I had the hamburger steak set meal (with soup and salad) for 1,100 yen. The hamburger steak was quite large, with some bell peppers and spaghetti underneath, so I skipped the rice as an office lady.

I visited "Tonkatsu Moriya" located a few meters before the intersection with the industrial road along the Hontsuken Hashi line. The parking lot is located next to the shop. The interior of the restaurant mainly consists of tatami seating with a counter that seats 6 people. The menu includes tonkatsu, hamburgers, curry, and more. I found the pricing to be a bit on the expensive side. I ordered the tonkatsu set meal (1,150 yen) which was quickly served with a crispy and tender cutlet. Personally, I think it would be nice to have some mustard, but the restaurant seemed to take pride in their demi sauce.

The menchi-katsu at this restaurant is amazing! It's so delicious that I keep going back and I'm always impressed. The meat is juicy and flavorful. The breadcrumbs are large but not hard, they're just crispy! It's so good that you don't even need sauce! It's served piping hot until the very end. I've had menchi-katsu from a butcher in Kobe before, but this one is hands down better. It's incredibly delicious. The prices went up due to the consumption tax increase in October 2019, but the menchi-katsu set with 2 pieces, shredded cabbage, a small portion of Napolitan pasta, rice, miso soup, and pickles is around 900 yen. Such a good deal! Even after eating two menchi-katsu, it doesn't feel greasy. The tonkatsu and Napolitan are also above average, but personally, I recommend the menchi-katsu. The exterior of the restaurant looks a bit old, so I probably wouldn't have gone if I hadn't seen the reviews. Thank you to Tabelog. Inside the restaurant is just like a regular diner.

Tonkatsu with demi-glace sauce is the specialty here!!! However, this time I had the pork cutlet curry. The curry sauce is not particularly delicious, but it has a classic taste in a way. It's a hearty meal that you can really dig into, and the spaghetti on the side is also good! It may not have a special taste, but it's a pork cutlet curry that somehow feels satisfying.

Visited in August of Heisei 29 (2017). Usually order the spaghetti with tonkatsu. It's a nostalgic-style napoletana with lots of ketchup, topped with a thin tonkatsu (not as thick as a tonkatsu set meal), sprinkled with powdered cheese and demiglace sauce. They kindly ask about the cheese for those who don't like it. The parking lot in front of the shop can fit about 4 cars. It may feel cramped during meal times, but it's convenient to go during off-peak hours like after 2 PM.
