I recently visited a Thai restaurant that opened fairly recently. Initially, I planned to go to Tokyo Ajifurai, but it seemed like the wait would be long, so I decided to change my plans. I ordered the seafood Gabao. It was mildly spicy, not too sweet, and had a refreshing flavor; the seasoning was refined. I don't usually choose Thai food, but I would like to come back to this place again. I noticed that all items are available for takeout, so I plan to try takeout next time.

A new Thai restaurant has opened, and it’s authentic and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the braised pork trotter rice, Khao Kham Moo; the meat was tender and soft, and the collagen part was wobbly. The pork trotter, jasmine rice, and chili sauce paired really well together. I definitely want to order it again. My 7th-grade son found the overall spice level a bit too much, so we plan to choose dishes without chili marks next time. The previous burger place closed down quickly, but I think this new restaurant will be around for a long time. Highly recommended!

Just like ramen shops can vary in quality, the same goes for Thai restaurants. Among the many Thai eateries, I highly recommend SmileThailand, which has three locations in Tokyo. In particular, the Pad Thai at the Ichigaya branch, which was revamped around the time of its opening, is outstanding. It's possibly the best noodle dish I've ever had!

After work, I randomly came across Smile Thailand in Ichigaya, which just opened on September 9th. Since I was in the mood for Thai food, I decided to give it a try! The inside of the restaurant was decorated with cute Thai items, making it a very cozy place. I ordered the recommended menu items: fresh spring rolls, Tom Yum Kung noodles, Pad Thai, and tapioca with coconut ice cream. I shared these with a friend, and everything was delicious and satisfying. The Tom Yum Kung noodles had a wonderfully tasty soup, and the Pad Thai was a bit on the sweeter side, but it was also very good. When I told the staff, "It's very delicious!" they replied, "Lunch time is even more affordable!" They showed me the lunch menu, and the sets start from 1,150 yen, available also on weekends and holidays. I definitely plan to visit again during lunch time!

Located a few minutes walk from Exit A3 of Ichigaya Station on the Tokyo Metro, "Smile Thailand Ichigaya" is situated in a semi-basement on the corner of Yasukuni-dori and Ichikuzaka intersection. I visited for the first time during lunch hours in early October. The restaurant has a bright, spacious, and luxurious atmosphere, featuring a total of 34 seats, including counter and table seating. I was shown to a two-person table.
The restaurant is run by about four Thai staff members. I looked at the lunch menu on the table, which offers 12 options, including Thai-style curries, noodles, and rice dishes. On that day, I ordered the "Khao Kha Moo Set" (Braised Pork Shank over Rice) for 1,380 yen, which comes with fresh spring rolls, soup, and Thai tea.
While sipping the gently sweet Thai tea, the spring rolls and soup quickly arrived, followed shortly by the main dish without much wait. "Khao Kha Moo" is a Thai-style braised pork shank served over rice, featuring Thai rice along with the pork, greens, cucumber, and cilantro. I poured a generous amount of sweet chili sauce over it and mixed everything well with a fork and spoon, as is the Thai style.
Taking my first bite, I found the pork shank to be tender and delicious, having been cooked to perfection! The robust flavor kept me eagerly enjoying each bite. The aroma of the Thai rice was delightful as well. Before long, I finished my meal and thoroughly enjoyed the delectable Thai lunch. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I had the chance to enjoy lunch at a newly opened Thai restaurant near my workplace, which just opened in September. I arrived a bit early, so I was able to get in without waiting, but if you come at a busier time, you might have to stand in line. I ordered the chicken green curry rice set. Green curry can sometimes be too spicy, but this restaurant's version wasn't overly spicy at all, and it had just the right amount of heat. It also had a rich flavor that made it quite addictive. I spent a luxurious time during lunch, and it motivated me to tackle the rest of the afternoon. There were many other appealing menu items, so I plan to try something different next time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a new restaurant before my PM graduate school class. I had known about its opening and had been wanting to check it out, and since I had an appointment at the lab in the morning, I was able to drop by right around lunchtime. I arrived around noon, and the place was almost full. Being a new establishment, the facade, interior, and the chairs and tables were all clean and well-presented. The staff, all Thai women, wore immaculate uniforms, adding to the restaurant's clean appearance. As for the food, it's a genuine Thai restaurant with professional chefs, so the presentation was beautiful and the taste was excellent. It's quite a nice place. However, I've seen this location struggle to stay in business in the past. Before this, it housed a tapioca shop and a Sichuan knife-shaved noodle restaurant (which was really delicious), but it seemed difficult for them to stay afloat due to poor visibility. As you can see in the photos, this shop is located at the corner of an intersection, which seems favorable, but being partially underground affects its visibility negatively, and being at the far end of the building makes it even less noticeable. While it's good during the day, the real issue is at night. Since this beautiful and tasty restaurant has come to be, I really hope they can succeed! The restaurant's name is a bit cliché: "Smile Thailand, Taste the Best Smile!"

I visited for lunch. After 1 PM, there were a few available seats. **Points:** ○ This is a new Thai restaurant that opened in September, with its main store in Asakusabashi. ○ Affordable Thai lunch with set menus that offer great value. ○ The flavors are mild and easy to eat. --- *Operations: Multiple staff members on duty *Customer demographic: Mostly women *Payment methods: PayPay accepted *No cover or service charge *No online reservations *Lunch service available *Solo dining: Possible *Related to second visits: Just the right amount for one meal *Duration of stay: A little over 30 minutes *Google rating: 4.8 *Discrepancy between current Tabelog rating and reality: None.
**Restaurant Overview:** This Thai restaurant opened in September 2024. It has its main location in Asakusabashi and several other branches in Tokyo. It occupies a space where a burger place used to be. It’s a bit of a walk from the station.
**Atmosphere and Service:** There are counter and table seats. The tables come in box type and standard type. Since it's newly opened and still busy after lunch peak, solo diners are automatically guided to the counter. The spacing at the counter can be a bit tight in some areas, with dividers in place. There are several staff members in the dining area, but their operation seems somewhat inexperienced. On the other hand, the food was delivered relatively quickly.
**Order Details and Cost-Effectiveness:** I ordered the Gapao Rice for 1,150 yen. The lunch comes as a set, including spring rolls, soup, and what seems to be Thai tea. The set items arrived a little over five minutes after ordering, followed by the Gapao Rice shortly after. The overall portion was substantial, and I think the cost-effectiveness is decent.
**Impression:** I found the quality of the Thai cuisine to be good. Particularly with the Gapao Rice, I think the spring rolls and soup are also easy to eat without the strong characteristics typically found in Thai food. The spring rolls have shrimp, albeit in small pieces, and are well-stuffed with vegetables, making them surprisingly large. The sauce is delicious. The soup is light and comforting. The main dish, including the Gapao Rice, can be made spicier upon request; however, I did not specify anything, and it came at a medium heat—just spicy enough for a lunchtime meal during work. The jasmine rice was fluffy, the chicken portion was surprisingly filling, and the taste was excellent. The lunch set was filling and felt like good value. Since it was easy to eat, I would also like to try Tom Yum soup and green curry. There don’t seem to be many Thai restaurants in this area, so I’m glad a great one has opened up.

"Recommendation for a Hamburger Life" has been replaced by a newly opened Thai restaurant. I saw the poster saying it opened on September 9th and was looking forward to it. By a little past 11, there were already several customers there. The menu mentioned that the spiciness could be adjusted, so I struggled to make a decision but went with Khao Man Gai. It came with fresh spring rolls, soup, and iced Thai tea. It was served shortly after I ordered. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff are bright and energetic, which is very pleasant. I forgot to request a smaller portion of rice, so I overexerted myself trying to finish everything and ended up very full! The sauce that came with the Khao Man Gai was mild in spiciness, which suited me perfectly. By just before noon, the place was full, but the service was quick, suggesting it might have a fast turnover. It looks like there will be a line during lunchtime. Looking around, I noticed a high number of orders for Khao Man Gai and Gapao Rice.

I visited on the second day after opening for lunch. Thai cuisine seems to be popular among women, as there were only four men in the restaurant, including me. I ordered the Tom Yum ramen, which came with two pieces of fresh spring rolls and jasmine rice. The tea was also Thai tea. The taste was quite authentic, and I definitely want to try the green curry next time. Since the restaurant has just opened, the operation was a bit awkward, but I hope they do well moving forward.

The Gapao set is 1,150 yen and comes with soup, fresh spring rolls, and Thai iced tea. The chef and the staff are Thai, and they provide excellent service with fluent Japanese and warm Thai smiles. It was very delicious, but I felt that the spiciness was somewhat toned down for Japanese customers, which was a bit disappointing. You can request the level of spiciness when you order, so I’ll be sure to ask for extra spiciness next time.

I ordered pad thai and tapioca milk tea. The fact that most items cost over 1000 yen is understandably due to the location. Regarding the taste, I found it very interesting that I could create my own original flavors.

During lunchtime, this Thai restaurant is always crowded. The lunch set comes with tea and fresh spring rolls, all for under 1500 yen per person. The taste is very authentic and it was really delicious!
