First of all, there are no images this time. I just didn't feel like taking any. So, I went to "Yo-chan" to try Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. I ordered okonomiyaki and some drinks. The appetizer was kimchi... but it was like regular kimchi mixed with chili peppers. It was so spicy that it upset my stomach. Meanwhile, they started spreading the batter thinly on the grill. And for some reason, they were spraying oil on the batter. Why? A storm of "Why?" Then they piled a bunch of cabbage on top. I was wondering why so much cabbage! But then I realized they were grabbing a handful of cabbage and cooking it on the grill instead of on the batter. I ordered the 1,000 yen Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, but is this all the cabbage you're giving me, boss? Well, maybe it's a style with less cabbage but more fillings? The batter was getting crispy. It was like an "edible plate." I remembered the words of the president of a popular ramen shop on "Money Tigers." "It's the beginning of a new era." Indeed, they started stir-frying the cabbage on the grill. The fillings were... pork and tenkasu... or was it moyashi... did they have it? It's so ahead of its time that my memory is failing me (laughs). They stir-fried the noodles, mixed them with sauce, and let them sit for a while... Oh, it's like a "firm yakisoba" style? A Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with a crispy batter, a minimal amount of cabbage, tenkasu, pork, firm yakisoba, and a new-style egg. They couldn't even include the word "Hiroshima" in it. They served it on a hot plate, so it was piping hot. I took a bite. The batter was so crispy that it felt like it could cut my mouth (laughs). The yakisoba was also crispy. A customer who came in later asked if they were from Hiroshima. They said they were from Kitami and learned Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki in Tokyo... Oh, I see. They must have learned the okonomiyaki of the future? If you think of it as a delicious new-style okonomiyaki, you can enjoy it. A fluffy, thin batter with a lot of cabbage, moyashi, squid tempura (or tenkasu), topped with yakisoba and egg. This restaurant may not be suitable for those expecting traditional Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Once again, I'll quote the famous words of the "Money Tigers" tiger: "If you're served something basic in such a playful manner, it's unacceptable. Don't mess around, you idiot! That's what I'd say." In conclusion, the Otafuku sauce is an amazing "spice" that makes it taste delicious.
