Revisiting "Bar Yoshida" and ended up having a surprise encounter with the bartender instructor "Michihiko Matsuba" during a morning TV drama. I had initially thought this place was forgotten, but it seems to be still popular. I tried the Irish coffee and Gimlet. The master bartender had a good balance of friendliness and professionalism. He seemed more like a typical salaryman.

It has been about a year since my last visit. I revisited the restaurant with a friend who wanted to go back after a long time. We went on a weekday at 7:30 PM, and the place was about 70% full with many foreign customers and solo female diners. I tried the grape cocktail and the muscat cocktail, both of which had a strong fruity flavor that would be appealing to women. You can adjust the sweetness level if you ask, so it's better to communicate your preference. The total cost for two cocktails was around 2700 yen per person. It's a bit pricey for Kita-Shinchi area, but you can enjoy delicious cocktails. The only downside is the lack of cell phone reception, making it difficult to do quick searches.

Exploring bars in Kitashinchi. An old bar located underground. A menu with large letters featuring Irish coffee caught my eye. I couldn't help but ask, "Do you serve it even in the summer?" When told they do, I had to order it. Irish coffee in this season was truly a first for me. For the second round, I requested a Scotch from Bowmore. A young, aromatic glass aged in wine barrels.

I prefer coming to calm bars like this rather than eating in Kita-Shinchi and going to clubs or lounges, so I often visit here. The master keeps an appropriate distance when talking to customers, maintaining a good balance of being attentive but not intrusive. Today, I had a mojito, a Blue Lagoon, and a heavily peated whiskey (on the rocks) with soda and lemon. Thank you as always. It was delicious.

A classical and stylish bar in Kita-Shinchi, Osaka. The prices are relatively cheap, around 1000 yen for a cocktail, which is quite pleasing. I started with a Singapore Sling. It was sweet and easy to drink, and the Maraschino cherry on top added a nice touch of sweetness. It was a delicious cocktail that went down smoothly. Next, I ordered a Daiquiri. I love rum, so this cocktail was a must-try for me. It was made with not only Bacardi's classic rum but also blended with Okinawa's Agricole rum, giving it a wonderful aroma. It tasted amazing, especially when paired with nuts. I then ordered a Sidecar and a cheese platter. Enjoying the Sidecar with some cheese was a delightful experience. Lastly, I tried the seasonal cocktail (grape). I ended up spending close to 9000 yen because I ordered too much due to the affordable prices. I need to be more careful next time! Sidecar, Balalaika, Manhattan, Martini, High Street Fizz, Highball. Gimlet and Mojito will have to wait for next time. Sidecar is already unique. Highball with sherry and peat, Scotch-based. Blending them together is pretty common, right? And the price is very reasonable. It's the best, isn't it?

After finishing work, I went to Kitashinchi Station around 21:35 and found the restaurant to be about 40% full. I sat at the counter seat and ordered a High Street Fizz and a cheese platter. The Fizz arrived in about 3 minutes, and it had a good taste with some fruit in it, making it easier to drink even for someone who doesn't like alcohol much. The cheese arrived in about 8 minutes, and it was really delicious. I paid 4070 yen with my card and headed back home. I thought this would earn me a medal for posting 3 reviews at the Bar Top 100 in 2022, but on the same day, the color for FranchiWEST disappeared, so it seems like I'm not making much progress here (even Pistrol's medal presence has been removed and the colored ones are decreasing).

This is a cozy bar with a warm atmosphere where you can hear customers' voices moderately. I had a Bowmore House Aging Cask Whiskey on the rocks for ¥1,500. It is a smoky single malt whiskey from Islay Island, Scotland. The Bowmore whiskey is further aged at Bar K. Bar K is awesome!

We visited "Bar Kay," located in central Osaka City, which was selected as one of the top 100 bars in the 2022 Tabelog ranking. This is a well-established bar that has been loved by locals for over 30 years. It is a 5-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station on the JR Tozai Line. The bar is located in the B1F of the "Koyou Building" facing Dojima Kamidori. When you descend the stairs and enter the store, you can feel a calm atmosphere. Today, we tried the following cocktails: - Watermelon Cocktail: A cocktail with the sweet taste of watermelon and a refreshing aftertaste. It has a refreshing flavor, perfect for summer. - Summer Mandarin Orange Cocktail: A cocktail with a sharp taste that makes you feel the sweet and sourness of summer mandarin oranges. We got to taste a bit of summer early. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The staff provides polite and easy-to-understand service, making it a welcoming place even for those not familiar with bars. The extensive food menu is also a plus, making it a low-key spot to enjoy. We tried the Gimlet and Mojito this time. Both cocktails have a refreshing taste, perfect for when the weather starts to warm up. The Gimlet, made with crisp gin and lime juice, has a lime aroma that smoothly passes through the nostrils, masking the strength of the alcohol. The Mojito, filled with the scent of mint, also has a great throat feel. This is the perfect place to enjoy a meal along with authentic cocktails. Be sure to visit! Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to have a drink at a bar and decided to head towards Kitashinchi area. I checked out a highly-rated bar called "K" in the area. It's located underground. The interior is decorated with a lot of wood, giving off a heavy and historic atmosphere. There were two bartenders, the owner and a staff member. I started off with a Martini, which was made with two types of gin, Gordon and Hendricks, which was unusual. I was worried because it was not stirred much, but it was nicely chilled and tasted great. For the second drink, I tried a whiskey called "Saburamaru II" distilled by Toyama Wakatsuru Shuzo. It was my first time trying it and I was impressed by the quality of whiskey being produced nationwide these days. For the third drink, I had a refreshing Gin and Tonic. The bar has been open for 35 years. The total bill came to 5500 yen. It was a nice atmosphere at the bar. (* ̄∀ ̄)

Bar K on the basement floor. When you enter, you are greeted with a different world, and the old bar-like interior creates an extraordinary atmosphere, making it a worthy spot among the top 100 establishments. I have never come across a bar in Tokyo that serves Mezcal, but maybe, just maybe, they have it here! So, I decided to challenge myself and ordered Mezcal. They have it! How delightful! As expected from Osaka! They even made a Sangrita chaser for me, leaving me completely satisfied. While it seems like bars are abundant in Osaka, this one allows you to relax without any pretense, making it highly recommended. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Ah, what a great time!

For my first drink, I had their original cocktail, the High Street Fizz. It was a refreshing cocktail with a citrusy flavor that was easy to drink. For my second drink, I saw someone next to me enjoying a cocktail that looked delicious, so I decided to try it as well. It was an award-winning cocktail made with gin, pomegranate, and another liqueur (I forgot the name). I will definitely visit again and take my time to enjoy more cocktails. Thank you for the meal.

We visited with three people around 9:30 pm on a regular day. We were lucky to be able to sit at the counter right away. There was a regular customer at the counter and foreign customers at the table. The atmosphere was nice, with a relaxing and easy-to-talk environment. I tried the Pola Short Cut, which I have been enjoying since drinking it in Nakasu. It was my third time having it, and it was the bartender's first attempt. Each of the three drinks was completely different, which was interesting. I was recommended the 30-year-old Bowmore for a rocks drink, and I finished with my usual Stinger, stirred. It was delicious. I was able to have meaningful conversations and had a very good night.

JR Tozai Line, 5 minutes walk from Kitashinchi Station. There are two counter seats and table seats in this small shop. The speakers at the end of the counter are playing lovely jazz music. I ordered a Glenlivet 12 on the rocks. Lately, I enjoy sipping whiskey on the rocks slowly. As the ice melts little by little, I also drink water in between, so I don't get too drunk. I heard from a friend that if you order Dewar's, the bartender here is quite knowledgeable. Apparently, he learned from the bartender at the old Tokyo bar "Gaslight". The bartender here also knew about him, and we had a great conversation. When in doubt, go for Dewar's. I had it as a highball. Instagram ID: kuidaore.8.

After enjoying fugu cuisine, I felt like I needed a bit more to drink, so I stopped by this place. If you really want to get to know a restaurant, you should order a cocktail, but I stuck with my usual whiskey on the rocks and ordered two glasses of Yamazaki 12 year. The other customers were all dining alone, but I appreciated how the bartenders made an effort to chat with each customer so that no one felt isolated. This is probably one of the reasons why this place has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants.

Today's walking took me to Kyoto to see the autumn leaves at places like Toji Temple and Fushimi Inari Shrine. After returning to the hotel for a quick shower break, I hopped on a train towards Osaka. The Osaka bar tour started at "Bar K" where I ordered a gin and tonic. The professional bartender's gin and tonic was irresistibly delicious. The quiet atmosphere allowed me to savor the drink slowly. This solo trip to Kobe, Osaka, and Kyoto focused on visiting bars. Popular izakayas these days are hard to get into without a reservation. During the day, I admire the autumn leaves, and at night, I explore the back bars. Next, I tried a sidecar cocktail which was well-balanced with sweetness and acidity, making it very tasty. Since I have more places to visit today, I'll end it here. Thank you for the meal. This shop is located about a 7-minute walk from Kitashinchi Station. It is a bit hidden in the underground area. The interior is brighter than expected and is popular among groups of women. A unique feature is that they have a proper menu, which is rare for bars in this area. The seasonal fruit cocktails (Shine Muscat and Kyoho grape) were delicious and impressive. It had been a while since I had a fruit cocktail this tasty. The Kyoho grape cocktail was also very flavorful with lots of fruit. The High Street Fizz (gin, elderflower, grapefruit juice, champagne) was an original drink here. It was not too sweet and easy to drink. Despite being a sophisticated bar, it is a place where women can enjoy themselves. I would like to visit again.
