Visited Fujitaya, an udon restaurant in Kishiwada, with my family. The "toriten bukkake" was priced at 1,100 yen including tax, and you can get a medium-sized portion for 1.5 servings or a large portion for 2 servings for free. We opted for 1.5 servings to start. The restaurant was crowded during lunchtime, but we were lucky to find seats without waiting. The toriten bukkake came with three large pieces of chicken tempura, and the broth was generously poured over the noodles, giving it a cold broth style. The broth was delicious, and the noodles were smooth and slippery, making it easy to eat. I finished my 1.5 servings in no time. My family ordered the "nikutama nama shoyu udon" priced at 1,078 yen and the "atatakai ebiten udon" priced at 935 yen, both of which were delicious and left us impressed. When we paid the bill, I couldn't help but mutter "it was delicious" under my breath, which was overheard by the staff. They smiled and thanked me. We parked at a coin parking lot as we couldn't find the restaurant's dedicated parking lot nearby, but apparently, there is one close by. It was a restaurant we would love to visit again.

When coming to Kishiwada by car and having some time to spare, "Fujitaya" is definitely the place to go. Instead of always ordering the same Niku Kamatama, I decided to try the Keema today. With 2 pieces of Ebi Tempura on the side, it was delicious. The soup wari was also great. It cost either 1215 yen or 1221 yen, I can't remember exactly, but it was worth it.

I visited for lunch. I had the daily special cold bukkake set, with a large serving. You can get up to two extra servings for free, which is great. The sweet and savory flavor of the dashi broth with bonito flakes is delicious, making the rice go down easily. The udon noodles are freshly made and boiled in the shop, and they are smooth and chewy, very tasty. The broth is a bit strong for the bukkake style, but it's so good I ended up finishing it. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but I highly recommend it.

We shared a plate of Niku-dama Bukkake, Hiyashi, and Tempura together. The Niku-dama Bukkake had a soft-boiled egg, and the udon noodles were slightly less chewy, but it was delicious. The Tempura, especially the chicken Tempura, was incredibly tasty. The chicken Tempura came with its own special sauce which was also delicious.

I visited a famous udon restaurant in Kishiwada! I drove there, but the narrow roads were a challenge for someone who is not good at driving (laughs). We arrived around 12:30, and the restaurant was bustling. The old-fashioned tables and chairs added to the atmosphere. I ordered the most popular dish, Niku Kamatama. The udon noodles had a good texture, and although the portion seemed small, I was very satisfied.

There was a sign for Fujitaya's shop on the main road, as well as a sign for lunch, but when I entered from there, the shop seemed to be closed. I went further in and turned a few corners until I found the shop. It turns out the front of the shop faces a narrow alley. I sat alone at the edge of a large table as instructed by the waitress. I was unsure what to order, but decided to go with the popular meat kamatama udon. The waitress kindly informed me to add soy sauce and that I could use more soup later. The taste was delicious, especially after adding more soup. However, when I didn't know the price, I was a bit surprised at the 1078 yen total at the register. Nevertheless, I left wanting to try more dishes next time. On my way out, I checked the recommended parking lot for the shop, but the narrow and winding roads made it difficult to access, so I would suggest using a different parking lot.

I unexpectedly found a delicious udon restaurant. They hand-make the udon noodles right in front of the store, and the texture and chewiness are amazing! I had low expectations for lunch in Kishiwada because of work, but it seems there are surprisingly many great restaurants. I'll use work as an excuse to explore more again.笑

There is an entrance on the side of a small alley one street away from the main road at Udon Kura Fujitaya. There are a few parking spaces at the restaurant, but the road is narrow so it can be difficult if the parking is full. For those with larger cars, there are many coin parking lots nearby for peace of mind. I arrived at 12:15 PM and the restaurant, with about 30 seats, was fully staffed with around 5 people. The atmosphere was lively with the sound of orders being called out, creating a bustling and energetic vibe. Luckily, there was one seat available at the counter, so I was seated without having to wait. I was torn between the many udon options on the menu, but ultimately decided to order the most popular dish, Niku Kamatama for 1078 yen. I ordered 2 servings of noodles for free. They also offered paper aprons, which was a nice touch. There was a complimentary katsuobushi tsukudani on the table, which everyone was enjoying during the wait. It was delicious, and they also sold it for takeout at the register. When the Niku Kamatama arrived, they sprinkled raw soy sauce on top. The noodles were slightly soft, but still tasty. The sweet and savory meat and egg combination was appetizing, and the seasoning on the meat was excellent. Around two-thirds into the meal, they poured the broth over the noodles, allowing me to enjoy two different ways of eating. The broth was delicious, and overall, it was a satisfying meal!

On July 28, 2023 (Friday) at 11:25, I made a surprise visit to this popular udon restaurant near Kishiwada Station. The atmosphere is casual and you can enjoy delicious udon noodles. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, making it hard to decide... I decided to order the seasonal limited edition Sudachi cold udon! You can choose the portion size, so I went for the large serving (2 portions).

- Sudachi cold udon with Chikuwa tempura set / ¥990
The dish arrived in about 5-6 minutes after ordering. Both the udon noodles and Chikuwa tempura looked beautiful! The cold udon had a refreshing broth with a strong flavor of dried baby sardines. The aroma and acidity of the vinegar and Sudachi citrus blended in perfectly, making it incredibly delicious! The udon noodles were smooth and had a great texture. Since it was a large serving (2 portions), I finished it all in no time! The Chikuwa tempura was freshly fried and delicious as always. It was crispy, fluffy, and had just the right amount of saltiness. It was also tasty to dip it in the broth with dried baby sardines! Overall, the cold udon was especially delicious on this hot day! The combination of vinegar, Sudachi citrus, hand-made udon noodles was excellent. The only downside might be that it's a bit pricey for udon noodles, but the taste was so good that it didn't bother me. This restaurant offers a wide variety of udon noodles and set menus. I'm already thinking about what to try next time (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

I had been checking this place out for over a year, and I finally made it. I ordered the set meal with a bowl and udon noodles. Today's bowl was Keema curry, and it was delicious. The udon noodles were served cold with plum sauce, and the broth was so tasty that I ended up drinking most of it. The noodles were just the right texture, not too hard. I wish I had come here sooner. Thank you for the meal.

◆Located a 2-minute walk from Ekishigishi-Wada Station [Exit 2]◆Parking available [3 spaces]◆Menu items: ・Parent and Child Tempura Udon 966 yen ・Cold Sudachi Udon 825 yen ・Chicken Tempura (a la carte) 165 yen◆Impression: I entered the restaurant right at the opening time. It seemed like a family-run place with around 30 seats. They had a sign and apparently have been featured on TV. I placed my order right away. The sourness of the sudachi was perfect for the hot weather. The udon noodles were not too thick, just normal. They had a good texture, chewy but not too firm. I was a bit skeptical about the cold broth, but it wasn't too salty and tasted great with the noodles. The chicken tempura was big, with a nice coating that enhanced the flavor when dipped in the broth. The Parent and Child Tempura Udon was served warm, and the Kansai-style broth was really delicious. I finished everything, wishing I had ordered 1.5 servings instead of a regular one. I definitely want to come back and eat here again!!!

My wife and I suddenly decided to visit Kishiwada, so we went to "Fujitaya" before our errands, which we hadn't visited in a long time. We arrived just before 12 o'clock on Friday, prepared to wait in line, but luckily we were seated right away. I had been curious about the "Sudachi Cold Udon" since seeing it on Instagram, so I ordered the Sudachi Cold Udon (1.5 servings) with Chikuwa Tempura Set for 990 yen. My wife ordered the Chikuwa Tempura Zaru Udon (1 serving) for 930 yen. While waiting for our udon, I enjoyed the tsukudani on the table. The flavor was just as I remembered, and it was another joy of visiting this place. When the udon arrived, I found it to be slightly thin and not too chewy, which was just right for me. It was delicious! Personally, I think this is my favorite udon place. However, I felt that the Sudachi dipping sauce was a bit too light for my taste. I tried adding Yamasu's shichimi spice, but it didn't quite work, so I ended up borrowing my wife's dipping sauce for the zaru udon. I wish the dipping sauce was a bit richer and colder. On the way back, I bought two tsukudani (540 yen each) for my mother-in-law and for home. The enjoyment continues. Even my son, who is usually not interested in food, wants to go back to this restaurant. Next time, we will bring the children along.

Menu and review were quickly skimmed through and it seems like the specialty here is the bukkake-style udon, which I'm honestly getting a bit tired of. I came to this udon shop looking for some comfort to ease my usual hangover, but ended up ordering the Keema curry udon. Perhaps I was seeking comfort in the spices? I was intrigued by the option of adding extra soup to the dish, thinking it could help with my hangover. The noodles were ordered cold and were not very chewy, more on the soft side. If you prefer a firmer texture, go for the hot option. A tip: when wearing white clothes, don't hesitate to ask for a paper apron. It might be essential when having the curry udon.

I visited before 12 o'clock. The tables were full but there were plenty of seats at the counter. In this season when I crave cold and refreshing udon, I ordered the tempura chicken and zaru udon (1100 yen including tax) with grated daikon topping (100 yen including tax), and requested extra noodles for free. I enjoyed the crispy and juicy tempura chicken with the smooth and chewy zaru udon!

It's been a while since I went to Udon Kura Fujitaya. Today, I had the Meatball Shoyu Udon once again with a side of Mini Keema. I just can't seem to break away from this delicious combination. The place was almost full and seemed quite busy. The cold version of the Udon was firm and tasty ❤️

Let's have lunch before noon! I searched on Tabelog since it's a completely unfamiliar town. I was craving udon and found the top-ranked place. After a little research, I discovered that the owner trained at the famous Moriya in Kagawa. I quickly used Google Maps to find the location of the restaurant. There's a free parking lot just a short walk from the restaurant. The lively interior was filled with young staff members. The menu was overwhelming with lots of options, and you could get up to 2 servings of udon for free! I chose the Ebi-Ten Kamatama Udon with 1.5 servings. It arrived in about 5 minutes, topped with Yama-tsutsujita's shichimi and yuzu shichimi. The udon was placed on top of a scrambled egg, so I mixed it well and adjusted the taste with soy sauce. I sprinkled shichimi on top and dug in! The chewy udon had a fragrant shichimi aroma and the egg underneath was like a scrambled egg. About halfway through, I added the dashi broth for a flavor change, which was incredibly delicious. You can enjoy two different tastes from one bowl of udon, giving a satisfying experience. Next, I think I'll try the Keema Curry Kamatama!

I visited after a long time. I had some errands nearby and it was lunchtime, so I decided to stop by. The restaurant had expanded and the menu had a lot of options. I chose the meatball udon and added an anago tempura. The udon noodles were delicious! The seasoning of the meat was just to my liking. I opted for a medium portion of noodles and ended up feeling full. Thank you for the meal!

First visit to Fujitaya, a udon restaurant that was bustling with energy. Luckily, we were able to secure a parking spot for one car. The lively atmosphere inside the restaurant, with the kitchen and staff moving swiftly and energetically, was impressive. We were kindly and cheerfully shown to our seats. We ordered the parent and child tempura udon, with two pieces of chicken tempura and one piece of egg tempura. It was great that we could choose the amount of udon freely. The bukkake broth was plentiful and glistening, and the chicken tempura was crispy and clearly well-fried. The udon was shiny and had a perfect smoothness, with a gummy texture that was just right. This is Kishiwada udon! The spirit of the danjiri festival! The chicken tempura had a crispy coating and was juicy with meat juices overflowing. It was delicious! Moreover, the chicken tempura was large and filling! When enjoyed with the table-side chicken tempura sauce, it offered a refreshing change of taste. The egg tempura was cooked and fried to perfection, and the sweetness of the egg paired perfectly with the udon and broth. The rich and flavorful broth was perfectly balanced, and we enjoyed it until the last drop. Next time, I want to try the keema or curry udon. Thank you for the meal!

After returning from a trip, I stopped by because it was close to Kansai Airport. I looked at Tabelog and went, but I couldn't find the parking lot at all. In the end, I parked at a coin parking lot. (The parking lot seems to be located on a side street one block off the main road.) The front entrance looked like a back entrance. (You can also enter from the back.) There were many menu options, and I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up choosing the popular No. 3 dish, the Niku-tama Bukkake. It was the right choice. The slightly rich broth with chewy noodles. The egg tempura was half-cooked and spread deliciousness in my mouth! The meat was thinly sliced and felt a bit dry and tough, but when eaten with the broth, it was delicious! I was also happy to find three types of shichimi pepper. I was also curious about the steak that other reviewers mentioned, but I was full from the udon, so I decided that I would like to go back to try it on another occasion.

The "Hime-don" is famous among locals, with a unique egg. It is known to those in the know. I ordered kake-udon. It was during Golden Week, so the restaurant was packed with families and couples. By 12:10, customers were pouring in one after another. The free-flowing bonito flakes were also incredibly delicious. On the way home, I ordered "okaka" as a souvenir from the owner for ¥540. It can last for a week in the refrigerator.

I visited before noon. The restaurant was busy, but I was able to quickly and smoothly find a seat at the counter. It was quite hot during the day, so I felt like eating a refreshing, chewy, and smooth "zaru udon (660 yen including tax)". Eating it with grated daikon (110 yen including tax) made it even more refreshing. The juicy chicken tempura (165 yen including tax) was the perfect accent to the mild zaru udon!
