Hakodate city recorded the highest temperature in history at 35.4°C. Despite the scorching heat, it wasn't as uncomfortable as expected due to the dry heat unique to Hakodate. The restaurant "Very Very Beast" in the western district, known for slightly lower temperatures, offered a refreshing atmosphere. I tried their root beer for 473 yen, which had a distinctive taste reminiscent of medicine. The Beast Omelette Rice for 1000 yen came with salad and soup, featuring a flavorful demi-glace sauce and a chicken rice base with a slightly loose texture. Overall, the food was delicious, but a firmer texture would have enhanced the experience.

It's a nostalgic American-style restaurant where you can enjoy the music of Elvis Presley and immerse yourself in the atmosphere. As the name suggests, they serve hearty meat dishes. I ordered the beef steak set, which was tender and delicious. The portion size was generous, and the steak was even more tender and juicy than those at specialty steak restaurants. The Beast Omurice, a popular dish here with demi-glace sauce, is also highly recommended. They have a good selection of drinks, making it a wonderful spot in the western part of Hakodate. It had been a while since my last visit, so I decided to have a cafe au lait, or rather a Wiener coffee... They also offer takeout for dishes like omelette rice. The only downside is that there is no parking lot.

On this day, I decided to visit "Very Very Beast" restaurant. The original restaurant I planned to go to was unexpectedly closed, so I chose another nearby restaurant. I wasn't sure if they had a parking lot, so I parked at a certain place at my own risk. I entered the restaurant a little after 1 pm and found that there was one group of customers already there, with two more groups coming in after me. I was seated with plenty of space between tables, allowing for a relaxing meal. After looking at the menu, I decided to order the "Beast Special Omelette Rice". I chose the special version over the regular one, as the difference was only ¥100, which included beef on top of the demi-glace sauce. My sister ordered something like "Spaghetti Gratin" from the menu. While admiring the stylish American-themed interior, our dishes arrived after about 10 minutes. The SP Omelette Rice was delicious, especially the demi-glace sauce. I particularly liked that the omelette rice was made with ketchup-flavored rice. The salad dressing and soup were also tasty. Most importantly, the portion size was satisfying! I would love to come back for dinner sometime in the future!

I ordered the omurice (special) for 1050 yen. It comes with salad and soup, which is a great deal for the price. The demiglace sauce is generously poured over it, with plenty of tender beef mixed in. The fluffy egg texture and rich demiglace flavor matched well, and despite its volume, I was able to finish it all in one go.
