From Sakamachi Station, a 3-minute walk away, there is a small bagel specialty shop called Happy Camper Bagel located in the shopping street! Even before opening on weekdays, there were already 6 groups waiting in line. It's a very popular shop! When the shop opened and the door opened, the smell of bagels was soothing. They only allow 2 people to enter at a time, so I had to wait for about 15 minutes even after they opened. The shopping street had a roof, so it was okay even if it rained. These bagels are made without using shortening or butter, which made me excited to try them. There was a limit of 6 pieces of one type, totaling 12 pieces per purchase, but since it was my first time, I bought one each of Plain, Sweet Bean Paste, Matcha with Chestnut, Berry, and Fig with Nuts. The bagels were still warm when I got them. I couldn't wait to eat them! I had the Sweet Bean Paste bagel while it was still hot. It tasted like a healthy sweet bean paste bun with walnuts, which left me slightly unsatisfied. I had high expectations, so I was a bit surprised that it wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be (maybe because it was my first time having a sweet bean paste bun, and I ended up comparing it to a regular one...?). However, when I tried the Plain bagel, I was truly impressed by its deliciousness! When I got home, I sandwiched ham and cream cheese between the Plain bagel and ate it without toasting it. Even though it was just a simple ham and cream cheese sandwich made with items from a regular supermarket, the taste was on a whole different level. The flavor of the wheat made the ham and cheese taste so much better than usual, and it was more delicious than any other bagel I had ever eaten. I finally understood why it's so popular! I would want to eat this every day...! The Matcha with Chestnut bagel had big, sweet chestnuts in it, which made it luxurious. The Berry bagel, when frozen and then baked on a different day, had blueberry juice oozing out and tasted delicious! The Fig with Nuts bagel also allowed me to taste the ingredients clearly. I paired the Berry and Fig bagels with cream cheese, and they were also delicious. I felt that combining the bagels with other ingredients and lightly cooking them made them even tastier than eating them on their own. Personally, I thought the Plain bagel was incredibly delicious, and I wanted to try combining it with various toppings. Thank you for the meal!
