During my trip, I wanted to eat sushi and searched on Tabelog. I called several places, but they were only taking takeout orders due to the Obon holiday. They don't accept reservations, so I waited in front of the store before it opened. After about 30 minutes, they opened and I had soba, eel rice bowl set, and tempura.

I ordered the Tempura Soba Chirashi for 1,280 yen and the Tempura Soba Nigiri for 1,280 yen. It was a bit late for lunch, around 2 pm, but the restaurant was crowded. The dishes had a good amount of food, including chawanmushi. Strangely, the chawanmushi was served in a disposable container. The restaurant seemed to be popular among both tourists and locals. The prices were reasonable, probably because locals also dine there. This was a nice surprise.

It's been a while since I visited Higashikawa. I came here for lunch. A friend told me about a place with a great set menu, so I decided to check it out. Although I've been to Higashikawa many times, I never thought about having sushi here, and I didn't know about this restaurant at all. It seems to be quite popular, as there were many cars parked outside when I arrived around 1 pm. It looks like there's no idle time, so it's better to come after lunchtime to get a table quickly. I debated between choosing the sushi set or the chirashi set, and in the end, I went with the sushi. I haven't had hand-rolled sushi from a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant in a while, and it was really good. The meal started with a savory chawanmushi. It had a hint of sweetness, which was nice. The soba noodles and sushi arrived next. The sushi pieces were larger than I expected. The soba had a delicious broth, and the tempura was light and crispy. I had green pepper, squid, and shrimp tempura on that day, and they were all tasty. My companion mentioned that they used to serve miso soup and more tempura in the past. Despite the changes, the portion size was still satisfying. I noticed someone at the next table enjoying a delicious-looking unadon, which also caught my eye.

This is a local restaurant, and it was my first visit. My daughter has a soba allergy, so we don't often go to places that serve soba. Today, I came alone and decided to try the katsudon, even though soba and sushi were recommended. The katsudon was decent, not good or bad, but the miso soup that came with it was incredibly delicious. It had that authentic sushi restaurant miso soup taste. Next time, I'll try the sushi and soba set. I'll definitely be back.

I debated between ordering soba or udon, but ultimately decided to go for a sushi set with tempura. The set came with a side of sweet chawanmushi, which was served in a disposable styrofoam container. The sushi set included various types of nigiri such as squid, medium fatty tuna, sweet shrimp, crab, salmon, and salmon roe. The portion size was decent and the rice was slightly on the larger side. The tempura took a bit longer to be served, and I had to eat it with soba dipping sauce as there was no tempura dipping sauce provided. Overall, the meal was satisfying and reasonably priced. I would like to try the katsudon next time I visit this restaurant.

I had an early dinner at a sushi restaurant in Higashikawa for 1200 yen. It was convenient that they were open all day. The main dish seemed to be soba noodles, but they also had set menus available. I ordered the 1200 yen sushi set which included white fish, red fish, surf clam, salmon, scallop, snow crab, sweet shrimp, sea urchin, and salmon roe with miso soup. The miso soup had a rich flavor and was delicious. However, the sushi was just okay. Despite the affordable price, the sea urchin from Rishiri had a strong bitter taste, and the salmon was a bit dry. I thought it would be a good deal, but it was a bit disappointing.

It seems like it doesn't get busy before 11 a.m. When I looked at the menu, I saw they also have soba and eel. There is a sushi and soba set, which is great. I ordered the "Tempura Soba Nigiri" (980 yen). You can enjoy the set for less than 1,000 yen. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The tempura soba nigiri had "kinmedai" as the white fish of the day. The sushi included 6 pieces with toppings like salmon roe, crab, sweet shrimp, tuna, and squid. The sushi size was just right, not too big or too small. The vinegar in the rice was mild and easy to eat. There was a side dish of simmered vegetables. The tempura had shrimp, mushrooms, and eggplant, with a crispy batter. There was no tempura dipping sauce, so I used the wasabi salt on the table. The soba was of the "Sara Soba" variety. The soba water was made with kettle water. The chawanmushi had bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and trefoil. Each item was average, but getting all this for under 1,000 yen was a pleasant surprise. The service from the staff was also good, leaving a positive impression. I think this is a hidden gem of a sushi restaurant!

I didn't have many chances to visit this place before, but I finally made my first visit. I saw some interesting pictures in a review by Kitadora-san, so I decided to try the sushi. The presentation was unique with each piece served individually. The soba was satisfying in portion and the staff was friendly. There are many other intriguing menu items to try, like the eel bowl. I'll have to tell my daughter, who loves eel, about it.
