I decided to grab a drink at "Esaka Kaisen Shokudo Hanare O-West," a recently opened restaurant near Esaka Station. I’ve visited their sister locations several times, so it wasn’t my first experience with them. True to its name, the restaurant specializes in seafood, and their sashimi is particularly recommended. On this occasion, I ordered winter yellowtail sashimi. It's a perfect choice for winter, with rich fat content and the sashimi slices being quite thick, making for a satisfying experience. Honestly, this dish alone could make me happy. I also tried the seasonal "ankimo ponzu." Its creamy texture pairs well with the ponzu sauce and spicy radish, creating a delicious combination. Additionally, I enjoyed the classic agedashi tofu, which had a nice crispy coating and a soft interior, with a well-seasoned dashi that pairs nicely with drinks. Everything was delicious. Since the restaurant has just opened, the interior is very clean, and the staff's service was excellent. I definitely want to visit again the next time I'm in Esaka.

I had the seafood hot spring egg yukke rice bowl for lunch. It came with a sweet yukke sauce, but I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I’ll go for a regular seafood bowl next time. It was nice to be able to enjoy various types of seafood.

I used this restaurant for a company gathering with about 20 people. Since it just opened, everything is clean and nice. The service staff, including some foreigners, were all great. The drink order and delivery time for the all-you-can-drink menu was stress-free, and there were no mistakes, which was impressive. The food was characteristic of Ouest, and the fresh sashimi was outstanding—no complaints there. I took pictures of the grilled and fried dishes, but as I started to drink more, I forgot to take pictures of the sushi rolls at the end. Overall, considering the price, food, drinks, and quality of service, I think it was very good. I would definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from Esaka Station. The interior is clean. I ordered the sashimi set meal, which arrived in about 5 minutes for ¥1,290. The sashimi was thick, had a nice texture, and was delicious. The soy sauce for the sashimi was sweet, which paired well with the white rice. The spacious interior makes it easy to dine alone. There are also banquet courses available, which are likely to become popular in the upcoming season. Thank you for the meal!

I recently visited a new restaurant in the Owest series for lunch. The interior has a cozy layout with fish-themed decor scattered throughout, making it enjoyable just to look around. It was Saturday just before 2 PM, and unfortunately, all the daily specials, including the donburi and set meals, were sold out, so I ordered the regular menu item: a warm egg yukke don. They offer free large servings of rice, but even the regular size is quite filling. The rice is topped with nori, lettuce, and generous portions of diced fish. The soft boiled egg is wonderfully creamy, and the yukke sauce they served alongside is sweet and spicy, reminiscent of gochujang—absolutely delicious! This dish pairs perfectly with the rice. I was very satisfied with the portion size and it definitely hit the spot for my seafood craving. It was a great lunch overall!

Day drinking in Esaka! This place definitely feels newly opened haha. The service is quite something... During the day, it seems there aren’t any recommended menu items like there are at night. Just the standard menu and lunch options. We wrapped it up quickly after just two dishes. I was just glad to be able to enjoy some drinks in the afternoon! Plus, since it was during the day, there was no charge for the appetizer, which was nice. That’s about it. Like yesterday, it was another one of those meals I can’t quite put into words… ¥2400 ▶︎ Cards accepted - The sashimi of sea bream was chosen since the flounder was sold out by lunchtime. It was crunchy! The soy sauce was sweet and delicious! ◯ Sweet potato tempura → Freshly fried, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside! You can really taste the fish flavor when you bite into it. ◯ - Bottled beer ☆ Recommendation level Taste → ★★★☆☆ Service → ★★☆☆☆ Cost performance → ★☆☆☆☆ Overall recommendation → ★★☆☆☆ Restaurant name: Esaka Seafood Dining Hanare Ouest Address: 1-22-10 Azusa Building 1F, Esakacho, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture Phone number: 06-6836-8385 #EsakaGourmet #EsakaSeafoodDiningHanareOuest #Ouest

I recently visited the "Osaka Seafood Dining Ouest" location I’ve been to a few times, and they have opened a new annex at the end of October. Known for their delicious fish, the original Ouest is located in Higashi-Mikuni, and I have visited there multiple times, especially to enjoy seasonal fish. This new annex in Esaka is conveniently located just a one-minute walk from Esaka Station, making it very accessible.
Once you enter the restaurant, it’s quite long with a variety of seating options, including table seats and dugout areas. There’s also an L-shaped counter in the back, which is great for solo diners. Even though it just opened, the place was almost full, bustling with local office workers.
I was particularly excited to order their "Seared Sawa", a dish I definitely wanted during the winter, along with other items like "Mentai-Stuffed Fried Lotus Root" and "Grilled Chicken Harami." Although "sawa" (Spanish mackerel) has "spring" in its name, I personally think winter sawa, which is rich with fat, is the best and most delicious!
The sashimi was thickly sliced, and the skin had been lightly seared, giving it a fragrant aroma that made it look incredibly appetizing. When I picked it up with my chopsticks, it was so tender that it almost fell apart—absolutely delicious! The fat content and the roasted skin flavor were simply fantastic.
The mentai-stuffed fried lotus root was impressive as well. You could tell they used high-quality lotus root, as its crunchy texture allowed you to appreciate its natural flavor. The batter was incredibly crisp, and the harmony of the mentaiko and shiso leaves was superb, making it a perfect match for drinks.
I was quite surprised by the grilled chicken harami; it was a generous portion with an intense charcoal aroma. It was tender and so rich in flavor that I thought it could easily hold its own in a specialized chicken restaurant. I definitely want to order this again next time!
The young staff were very friendly and attentive, making my experience enjoyable. You can sit at the counter alone, so I’m looking forward to dropping by again after work. Thank you for an excellent meal!
