After several years, we came to Tomakomai for a family trip. We visited a newly opened beef tongue specialty restaurant, which had a huge display of flowers, including some from EXILE. The set menus are the main attraction, making it quite convenient. They also have an extensive selection of individual dishes, so both adults and children can enjoy their meals. The variety of alcohol available is impressive as well. The combination of barley rice with tororo, tail soup, and beef tongue is unbeatable. The interior has a warm atmosphere with wood accents, and there are private rooms as well as counter seating. The spacious table seats are versatile, which is both convenient and comfortable. We visited with children this time, and the attentive service really helped us out. This might be the first time I give a restaurant a perfect ⭐️5 rating. We had a highly satisfying dinner. Thank you for the meal!

I had the thick-cut beef tongue set (large). I originally wanted to go to the main store, but it was closed that day, so I remembered that a new place had opened and came to Nunohata. The turnover of customers was fast, I was hungry, and it was simply delicious. However, when I eat a lot of the thick cuts, sometimes I can't quite tell what I'm chewing on, so I think I'll go for the regular cut next time.

The branch of Akahyo is my first visit, and since it's a new store, it was very clean. The interior is spacious, making it easy for families to come in. The variety of dishes is slightly different from the main store, and there are limited menu items to enjoy. In particular, the selection of sake (Japanese sake) was impressive, to the point that I want to take the train to visit again next time.

I was seated at the counter, and since the sunlight was strong, I pulled down the curtain. I ordered the beef tongue set meal (medium). The BGM was a mix of the staff chatting and "Toraburyu Road" playing—it's not so bad for lunchtime, haha! It took 25 minutes for the meal to arrive. Hmm? Something seems off. That's not nozawana pickles; it's just a light pickled vegetable! It's not a big deal, but I want to make a fuss because I'm a big fan of Akahoei (the restaurant) (laughs). The beef tongue, tail soup, barley rice, and white nanban are all delicious—truly amazing!!! But what's with the light pickled vegetables? The beef tongue set meal (medium) cost 1859 yen. I visited the restaurant on a recent afternoon. The spacious parking lot makes it very convenient. After entering the store, I placed my order. The beef tongue was tender, not smelly, and delicious. The soup was also tasty, and I was happy to feel satisfied for 1,800 yen. I wanted to have coffee after the meal, but it was a bit disappointing that it wasn't available.

Whenever I come to Hokkaido, I always make sure to stop by. The grilled beef tongue is truly delicious, and its compatibility with rice is outstanding. It was my last visit to the site in Hokuei Town on this day at 12:50 PM. My partner OG and I decided to indulge, so we went for the Akahibei set meal with a large portion and added tororo (grated yam). Since the nozawana (pickled vegetable) is a hassle to pick up with chopsticks, I just dumped it all into the barley rice! I poured soy sauce over the tororo and mixed it up, then topped the nozawana rice with it. All set, let's eat! First up was the sagari (beef skirt steak)! It was super delicious with the grated daikon ponzu. Next, I had the thick-cut beef tongue with white nanban (a type of dipping sauce). It had a great texture and was absolutely tasty! I knew the barley rice would be great alongside it. After that, just one sip of the oxtail soup brought me so much happiness! I really prefer this over the thick-cut portion, so I saved the regular beef tongue—the pride of Akahibei—for last. I savored each bite with white nanban, mixing in the tororo barley rice, and it was just fantastic! I finished everything happily, enjoying a luxurious lunch! The Akahibei set meal cost 2,904 yen, and the tororo was 275 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

The grilled beef tongue was soft yet had a nice texture, and the aroma was fantastic, making it really delicious. The oxtail soup was full of long green onions, creamy, and incredibly tasty. There was a good portion, so I poured the soup over a bowl of barley rice and enjoyed it like a rice porridge. The side dish with the meat was nozawana pickles, which were refreshing and pleasant. The new location had a clean interior, and there were plenty of friendly staff members. I will definitely go back again!

On this day, we drove for about 3 minutes from Kitakitsune Town to this restaurant, which had a full house and 2 groups waiting. We provided our names and phone numbers and waited in the car for about 10 minutes before we were called inside. The staff were very friendly, and the background music featured classic Showa-era pop songs, which really resonated with me and my travel companions in their 50s. We ordered three large Akahibe sets, and after about 10 minutes, our beautiful meal was served. It looked stunning! However, I noticed that my meal didn’t have any grated radish mixed in—what's that about? My friend IH joked, "It looks great—a VIP treatment!" to which I replied, “That can’t be true!” NT added, “I could eat a bowl of rice just with that white nanban sauce!” The food was delicious! My two companions kept saying how good it was and even asked for a second helping of the medium-sized rice. The beef tongue was excellent, and the thick slices of skirt steak were perfectly grilled and incredibly tasty—better than the famous Kongouen! The menu’s description of “luxurious” truly lived up to our expectations! The large Akahibe set cost 2,904 yen. Thank you for the wonderful meal! 😊

After a tiring trip on a weekday evening, I entered a nearby restaurant since it was the most convenient option. I was delighted by the calming atmosphere inside. It seems they specialize in sake, as there were many bottles displayed. I ordered the beef tongue set meal. The rice and pickles were free to refill. The beef tongue, which I hadn’t had in a while, was exquisite.

At the gyutan (beef tongue) restaurant "Sumiyaki Gyutan Akabe" located in Numano-hatsu, Tomakomai, which is part of the Kongō-en Group operating in the city of Tomakomai, I ordered the thick-sliced beef tongue set meal for 1,890 yen (excluding tax). This includes 140g of beef tongue, tail soup, nozawana (pickled vegetables), and barley rice, with free refills on rice and a choice between white or red nanban sauce. As promised, the thick-sliced beef tongue has excellent thickness and texture. The tail soup, which can be tricky to get just right, was perfectly seasoned to my taste. The nozawana provided a nice accent to the meal. The hot roasted green tea, delivered at the perfect moment, resets all the grease in my mouth. It’s easy to see why this set meal is the most popular option on the menu—everything was outstanding.

I previously visited the first-generation gyutan (beef tongue) restaurant, Akihamae, located next to Kongoen’s main store. Since I was back in Tomakomai after a while, I decided to check out their newly opened branch this time. The thick sliced beef tongue set meal was reliably delicious, and the Yamagata beef motsunabe (offal hot pot) was light and tasty without being heavy on the stomach. I also enjoyed other dishes like tataki and cheetara, and everything was delicious, so I was very satisfied! Not only was the set meal great, but the drinks were also tasty, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable experience, which was really wonderful.

I was shown to table 7 and checked the menu, but there was no shabu-shabu to be found—only dinner options, how strange! The BGM was nostalgic J-Pop. I felt like I could really eat a lot this day, so I ordered the "Beef Tongue Mixed Set, Large + Tororo." My partner chose the "Beef Tongue and Beef Sagara Set, Medium + Tororo." I couldn't help but say, "Is yours really less than mine?" My partner replied, "No worries! I'll just order more rice!" The tail soup was great; the bones were gone and the meat doubled! It was delightful to share the thick-cut tongue and Sagara, making it like trying three types of meat. Of course, the beef was delicious, and the nozawana (pickled greens), white namban, and barley rice were all tasty too. It was pure happiness! I finished with roasted green tea, savoring the aftertaste. Overall, it was a satisfying and filling lunch with high quality. The prices were 2,684 yen for the Large Beef Tongue Mixed Set with Tororo and 2,024 yen for the Medium Beef Tongue and Sagara Set with Tororo. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

I recently found out that Gyutan Akihira has opened a branch in Numapokuhan. I've been a regular at the main store for many years, and it's one of my favorite places. The beef tongue, grilled to perfection over charcoal, bursts with juicy flavor with every bite—it's simply irresistible. Depending on my mood, I switch up my order between thick or thin slices, but I can’t say I’ve ever been disappointed. The spicy miso with chili peppers adds another layer of deliciousness, making it fun to change up the flavors during the meal. The main store has recently become famous, and I've noticed it can get quite crowded, sometimes resulting in a bit of a wait. This new location, on the other hand, is still relatively easy to access due to being a new establishment. The taste here is just as good as the main store, so I might end up coming here more often. I want to support it, but I also hope it doesn’t get too busy... Haha. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it!

The atmosphere of this restaurant felt new and impressive, with a lovely interior design that was perfectly visible from the outside, giving it a corridor-like vibe. The taste was delicious; the texture was firm yet tender, and there was no foul smell. The service was pretty standard, and the cost-performance ratio was decent. It was fine for dining alone. I enjoyed a hefty portion of thick-cut beef tongue and was very satisfied. Now, all that's left to do is sleep (laughs).

I used to go to the main store, but ever since this branch opened last year, I’ve been coming here. The restaurant is clean, and it has table seating and sunken kotatsu seating that the main store doesn’t have, making it very convenient. My recommendation is the beef tongue and kalbi set meal. You get to enjoy both beef tongue and kalbi with some flavor variations, and both are very delicious.

A beef tongue restaurant just opened near Numakari Station. After finishing my work, I stopped by for dinner. I enjoyed a beer to relax while pondering over the menu. I debated between ordering a la carte or a set meal and ultimately decided on a set meal with beef tongue and sagari (beef skirt). While waiting for my food, I observed the restaurant's interior. Besides the counter seat where I was seated, there were table seats and what seemed to be private rooms in the back. The restaurant had a high ceiling, was bright, and felt very clean. The menu included not only the standard set meals but also a few items like stews, which caught my interest. Before long, my set meal was served. The thick slices of meat looked delicious. I started with the sagari, which was very tender with a flavor that was just right, not too strong. The beef tongue had a good texture; it was firm but not overly tough, offering a nice bite. It was truly tasty. The tail soup had a refreshing taste that was perfectly seasoned. I thought the nozawana (wild vegetables) could be cut a bit larger for easier eating. The drink selection was varied, making it a good spot if you want a light drink. I might come again.

It's all thanks to the original dish being so tasty. ■ Thick-cut Beef Tongue Set Meal (Medium) with Free Rice for 1,980 yen. Though it's labeled as "medium," the portion is impressive and the thick slices are bold. They are cooked just right, remaining tender. With each bite, the refined umami of the well-aged thick-cut beef tongue and the moderate richness of fat ooze out. The seasoning is well-balanced and adds a nice touch. It's needless to say that the crispy pickled greens and the beef tongue are a perfect match, bringing me happiness with every chew. It's impossible not to dig into the barley rice. The oxtail soup may have a bit of a shortage on the oxtail meat, but the flavor of the broth is excellent. The accompanying spicy nanban miso makes the rice go down even easier. If you can, adding a rice refill is a must. So delicious! Great job, Akabei! Keep it up, Kongouen Group! I have a feeling that my next visits will only involve the thick-cut beef tongue.

Since July, I've been bullied by Gongoen (^^; The parking lot was almost full, which gave me a bit of relief. There was only one counter seat available, so I filled it, and soon after, other customers started waiting... It was bustling! I ordered the beef tongue set meal (medium). On the first day of opening, I felt something was off, but this time, it was the proud beef tongue from Akahiei! It was delicious! The soup even had two pieces of oxtail in it, which made me smile, but the meat was lacking. I suppose expecting a lot of meat in the oxtail soup might be unreasonable, haha. It's noticeably different from the main store (see photos of the main store). I also didn't get the hojicha (roasted green tea) after the meal, as they were busy with a full house. Oh? ☆ Shooting Star-san! Using the 500 yen meal voucher? It's exactly the same cycle! (laughs) The managing director of Gongoen kindly saw me off at the entrance, which I truly appreciate♪ The beef tongue set meal (medium) was 1760 yen. Since I had errands to do in the southern area from home, we visited this restaurant for the first time, located next to the Kongoen chain, which also has a branch in Chitose. I ordered the beef tongue set meal (medium) for 1,760 yen; it's definitely a go-to choice for a first visit. They offer small, medium, and large portions, and the medium size was quite filling, leaving me satisfied. The soup was delicious and easy to drink, as it didn't have any small bones. The background music was smooth jazz. There was a refreshing young man with a small face, reminiscent of Kotaro Koizumi, providing excellent service. I also noticed flowers from Masayasu Yagi of EXILE Theater. I received a meal voucher, so I plan to use it for a bento next time. Thank you for the meal!
