I visited Fuhlong, a Chinese restaurant in Kitashinchi. It was a lunch on a Monday, and I had Mapo Tofu Soup with Okra, Cabbage, and Green Vegetable Soup. The soup was warm and gentle, like a comforting porridge, perfect for a summer afternoon. The Mapo Tofu was soft and silky, with a thick texture and a strong flavor of Sichuan pepper and chili oil. It was spicy but had a smooth texture, making it a unique and delicious dish. For dessert, I had almond jelly with mango, which had a wonderful texture and just the right amount of sweetness. The steamed bun for dessert was also fantastic. Overall, everything was delicious. After the meal, they served hot jasmine tea to cleanse the palate. The service was excellent, and I left feeling satisfied and wanting to come back for more of their amazing Mapo Tofu. This restaurant was a big hit in Osaka!

We visited the restaurant around noon on Friday with two people, just making it in time. Since it was Friday, we ordered the cold tantanmen, seafood cold noodles, and mapo tofu rice. We requested two orders of the mapo tofu rice, which was our main target. Shortly after ordering, we were served a chilled salad and a hot soup with seaweed and fried tofu. Both dishes were so delicious that we finished them in no time. The mapo tofu gradually became spicier, and I regretted not saving some to balance it out with the sweet dressing from the salad. The signature mapo tofu dish had a creamy tofu unlike any I've had before, with a perfect balance of umami and spiciness, and a wonderful nutty flavor from being well fried at high heat. The chewy sesame dumplings and the mouthwatering almond tofu and mango pudding for dessert were also incredibly delicious. The hot jasmine tea was fragrant and delightful, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive it as a gift when we paid the bill. Thank you for the exquisite lunch.

Visited a restaurant in Umeda during the Hanshin sale. Found a nearby restaurant that looked delicious. It is located in Shinchi, so I thought it might be a high-end restaurant, but it had a casual atmosphere and the lunch was reasonably priced. Both of us ordered the daily plate lunch. Squid fritters, hollow heart vegetable stir-fry, sweet and sour pork, and more... The squid was a bit tough, but it went well with beer. The sweet and sour pork was delicious with tender meat, but the best dish was the hollow heart vegetable stir-fry. We visited around 12:30 pm and there was only one group of customers before us. The dishes were quickly prepared at the counter, showing the efficiency and skill of Chinese cuisine. The lunch was served in no time, and it came with salad, soup, and dessert, making it great value for money!

We made a reservation and visited on the same day, ordering a 10,000 yen course. Located in a mixed-use building in Kitashinchi, we were the only ones there when we arrived on a Saturday night. The course included assorted appetizers, Peking duck, shark fin soup, a choice of 3 items from the menu (abalone with XO sauce, Beijing-style shrimp chili, tofu and yuba with sea urchin), soup noodles or fried rice, and dessert. Despite being a course menu, being able to choose our favorite items was very enjoyable! The taste was as expected, just like we had heard. I would love to visit for lunch as well ♡

The appetizer had a variety of items, with the jellyfish texture being particularly pleasant. The Peking duck was finished by pouring oil on it right in front of us. The crispy skin of the Peking duck looked delicious and tasted great too. The braised sea cucumber was on the smaller side considering the price, but the taste made up for it! The soup was delicious and I finished every drop. The angel prawn in Hong Kong sauce was a delightful shrimp miso experience. The abalone paired well with XO sauce. The slippery greens on the side looked healthy. The Dragon Highball was very refreshing. The combination of sea urchin, yuba, and tofu was hot and delicious. I have never seen such a dish before. I ended the meal with soup soba.

I visited Furon in Kitashinchi for a meal based on its high ratings on Tabelog. It was my first time there, so I ordered the course menu. The appetizers were surprisingly delicious. There were so many dishes that I couldn't finish them all. I'm sorry to the staff for leaving food uneaten. The taste and portion size were excellent, but unfortunately, the seat I was in wasn't great. I was seated at the counter right in front of the kitchen, and the distance between the stove and counter was too close, so I ended up getting smoke directly in my eyes, which made them sting. The food was very tasty, but that was the only downside.

Hundred famous restaurants. I thought I would be lining up with other people, so I arrived 15 minutes before opening, but I was the only one there until opening, so if you go at 11:30, you may not need to rush to line up. It will probably start getting crowded around noon. I was torn between the plate lunch and the mapo tofu lunch. I was leaning towards the plate lunch, but since many reviews praised the mapo tofu, I decided to go with that. The mapo tofu was within the typical range of what you would expect. If I had to say, compared to other places, the base soup stock was stronger, which lifted up the overall dish. Maybe I should have gone with the plate lunch where you can taste three different dishes. But if I had chosen the plate lunch, I would probably be thinking I should have gone with the mapo tofu. That's just how it goes for us humans.

I used it for lunch on a regular day, and the taste was elegant and delicious. It was quick to serve the dishes, which was much appreciated during work breaks. The prices were reasonable for lunch, and the atmosphere of the staff was also good. The meal consisted of soup, a main dish, and dessert.

Mapo tofu rice bowl for 1100 yen. The mapo tofu was exactly to my liking. At first, I didn't feel much spiciness, but as I kept eating, I gradually started to feel the heat, making me sweat a little. It had a strong umami flavor, not just spicy.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I had the cold tantan noodles lunch set. The set, priced at 1,200 yen, included soup, chimaki, and small dishes like meat buns, which made it quite satisfying. The interior was quiet and elegant. This is the kind of place that makes you want to visit again to try out other menu items.

Hello! It's Ramen Walking here! Today, I visited Fuurin in Kitashinchi for their "Hiyashi Tantanmen" dish. I arrived at 12:20 and was surprised to find the restaurant not too crowded. I decided to try the cold noodles instead of my usual favorite, Mapo Tofu Rice. I ordered the Hiyashi Tantanmen for 1,200 yen, which came with a lunch set including salad, soup, chimaki, zasai, nikuman, dessert, and jasmine tea. The service was efficient, with each dish served promptly. The main dish, Hiyashi Tantanmen, was delicious with fried eggplant, meat, green vegetables, and white leeks in a creamy tantan soup. The noodles were soft like somen noodles. The lunch set also included chimaki, nikuman, dessert (sesame dumplings and almond jelly), and jasmine tea. Overall, the quality and quantity of the meal were excellent, and I felt it was great value for the price. Thank you, Fuurin, for the delicious meal! Total steps for today: 16,330 steps. I visited the restaurant for lunch on a regular day. The restaurant is located on the second floor at the back of a building in Kita-Shinchi, and it's a bit hard to find. There were two other customers already there. For lunch, you can choose between a colorful plate lunch or Mapo Tofu Rice, and I chose the Mapo Tofu Rice. First, they brought out salad and soup. The soup had spinach, Chinese cabbage, and thin fried tofu in it, with a light flavor. By the time I finished the soup, the Mapo Tofu Rice was served. The Mapo Tofu had a nice balance of spiciness and was delicious. For dessert, they served sesame dumplings and almond jelly.

A small, high-end Chinese restaurant in Kitashinchi mixed building. The Peking duck was a bit lonely. The shrimp chili and oil-drenched shrimp were delicious! The homemade XO sauce was tasty. The quality of the meat in the shredded pork with green peppers was exceptionally good! It was a bit unclear if it was a high-end Chinese restaurant, a specialty Chinese restaurant, or an affordable Chinese restaurant in Shinchi. Thank you for the feast.

Spicy and flavorful mapo tofu was great! I visited a top Chinese restaurant in Osaka's Kita-Shinchi for the first time. I arrived at 12:30 on Friday and luckily got the last available seat. The restaurant had a cozy and well-worn atmosphere. I ordered the mapo tofu rice set, which was spicy with a rich depth of flavor. It was delicious! The service was attentive, the small restaurant had a nice open layout, and the chef was skilled. This has become my favorite place!

I visited the restaurant a little before 12 o'clock on Thursday. The location was a bit hard to find and made me quite anxious until I arrived, but the interior of the restaurant had a bar-like atmosphere and was quite cozy once you got used to it. There were various items on the menu, but today I decided to order the mapo tofu set. When I placed my order, salad and soup were immediately brought to the table. This was a pleasant surprise as many lunch sets usually only come with the main dish! I quickly tried the soup, which was absolutely delicious and worth coming for on its own. The rich broth with mushrooms and other ingredients was packed with flavor, and I could already anticipate the mapo tofu to be just as good. In less than 10 minutes, the mapo tofu arrived. It looked great and smelled amazing, so my expectations were high. With the first bite, I could taste the spicy bean paste, which added a rich and enjoyable spiciness that lingered. The firmness of the tofu was also perfect, making the dish exceptional. I couldn't stop eating and finished it in no time. Dessert and tea were served at the end, making it a truly luxurious and satisfying meal. The lunch price may be over 1,000 yen, which might seem a bit high, but it is definitely worth more than the price. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!!

This upscale Chinese restaurant is located right in the heart of Kitashinchi. It's great that you can enjoy a casual lunch here. The spiciness of the mapo tofu is not as strong as expected, but the tofu and other ingredients have a deep flavor. And all of this for 1200 yen is a great deal. The sweet potato dessert, I'm not usually a fan of sweet things, but this was a fantastic taste.

I couldn't forget the excitement from last time, so I went again. The scent is still great, and the food is delicious, but it didn't move me as much as last time. Maybe because I already know what to expect. But I still love it! The portions are generous and I left with a full stomach. Everything is delicious.

Located on the second floor of the Taniyasu Sesto Building, just a short walk from Kitashinchi Station in Osaka, is the family Chinese kitchen "Furong." This restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants for two consecutive years, offering home-style Chinese cuisine that is popular with both men and women. The lunch menu is particularly affordable and includes a colorful plate lunch that is well-received by female customers. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the chef in action from the counter seats. On a Wednesday afternoon, I visited the restaurant with the intention of trying the mapo tofu rice, but unfortunately, it was already sold out. I decided to go with the "Colorful Plate Lunch" instead. The lunch set includes a salad and soup, followed by the main colorful plate and rice. The plate consists of cold and hot dishes, including silken tofu with nam pla sauce, pork and okra with yuzu ponzu dressing, burdock tempura, minced meat, and cherry tomatoes. The hot dishes include chicken karaage, lettuce with tobiko sauce, and rice. The meal was accompanied by dessert, which included almond tofu, mango pudding, a small cake, and jasmine tea. Overall, the meal was satisfying and well-presented, with attentive service from the staff. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant may feel more like a bar or snack establishment, but the delicious food and thoughtful service make it a worthwhile dining experience.

It had been about 5 years since I last visited this restaurant. I decided to go with the chef's choice of 3 dishes from the a la carte menu. I was torn between the fried rice for the main dish and the soup noodles for the finish, but I ended up choosing the fried rice and adding a small portion of the soup noodles. It was absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed a Hu-Long Highball, Shaoxing wine, soda, and lemon tomato chuhai. The Hu-Long course included a seasonal appetizer platter, Peking duck, simmered fish maw, the chef's choice of 3 dishes, sweet and sour pork, crab omelette, and stir-fried beef with green peppers. The meal was topped off with today's fried rice and dessert, as well as half portion of fried chicken and pork and watercress soup noodles in a small size.

I went to a high-end Chinese restaurant in a new area. Despite being high-end, the prices are actually reasonable. For us common people, a 10,000 yen course is a good deal. From the exquisite shark fin soup to the flavorful oil-splashed chicken, everything was elegantly presented. It's not often that we can come here unless it's a special occasion.

Although I'm not good with spiciness, I've been curious about Mapo Tofu recently! Since the North Shinchi area is about to close soon, I felt that I couldn't miss this place and decided to go for it. The interior of the restaurant has a high-class and calm atmosphere with brown wood and off-white walls. They only serve lunch on Tuesdays to Fridays. The colorful plate lunch is available on Tuesdays to Thursdays, and the monthly noodle lunch set and Mapo Tofu rice set are available on Fridays. The colorful plate lunch looks appealing, but since it was my first time, I opted for the classic menu item, the "Mapo Tofu Rice (mild spiciness) set". First, they brought out soup and salad. The soup had plenty of fried tofu floating in it, along with enoki mushrooms and seaweed. The combination of seaweed and consomme, fluffy fried tofu, and elegant soup was delicious! The fresh vegetable salad had a crunchy texture from cornflakes and the ginger dressing was fantastic. I finished it in no time! Even for those who don't like vegetables, this dressing is a must-have. After a while, the main dish, Mapo Tofu Rice, arrived! The silky tofu had a smooth and fluffy texture, and the flavorful minced meat wrapped in plenty of sauce, combined with the numbing spiciness, was simply "amazing"! The balance between the sauce and silky tofu was excellent, making you forget about the rice (laughs). The fluffy and slightly spicy accent! Truly bravo♪ The jasmine tea that came afterwards helped soothe the spiciness of the Mapo Tofu. I'm so happy to have found my favorite Mapo Tofu for the first time. For dessert, they served a nostalgic steamed cake-like dessert and almond jelly! There were two types of almond jelly, allowing you to enjoy different textures. The simple sweetness of the steamed cake, the creamy deliciousness of the almond jelly, the fresh flavor of the mango almond jelly... North Shinchi Chinese cuisine is the best lunch spot. I would love to try their evening menu as well. Truly a fantastic lunch with the "flying" Mapo Tofu Rice!
